  1. I got a great idea for a pretty long time. A combination between the style and gameplay mechanics of Reus and the rocket building of ksp. Also, it should look a little like cortex command in a gaint scale. It would be a 2D space colonization game, where you have to manage your own space program to colonize different planets. There should be a tech tree, and to unlock techs, you should send probes and robots to other planets. Also, there should be a good budget management system. After you got the techs and the moneys, you should send the basic parts of a base to the planet and send some astronauts to build a facility there. Money should be generated by getting it from the government. The more succes your space program has, the more money you get. When not done well, you should also be able to get bankrupt and start over again.
  2. altough an i5 and a 760 would've given much more performance for the same price, you got a good pc right there.
  3. You got a pretty old pc right there, but a clean install of windows 7 will make your pc run as good as new. Wouldn't you like to upgrade it?
  4. gmod is great, and gets better with every gameplay hour. There is so much to learn with wiremod (a mod which adds a coding, so you can make things happen automatic in a very advanced way). Powder toy is great for playing around with different kind of materials. It's fun, even if you get in the more advanced things like nuclear reactors. Dwarf fortress is very hard to master, but when you master it, you get awesome gameplay. I would only recommend it to people who like to actually LEARN gameplay mechanics. Towns is like an easy to understand dwarf fortress. Although that sounds nice, i think its an unfinished game with a lot of weak points. I never really liked to play it. Gta has some sandbox elements when playing free mode with hacks. You can make very cool structures, racing tracks, art (lol).
  5. i dived in a pool which was 1,30 meter deep. I broke an arm and one of the muscles was almost ripped off. I'm lucky, i could've broken my neck Never dive if you aren't COMPLETELY sure about the dept of the bottom
  6. ever played gmod? It's a sandbox game, and you can make literally EVERYTHING in that game. From helicopters, planes, rockets, engines, hoverboards to teleporters. Although it takes a good amount of time to master, there is also a coding side in it. You can make very complicated, automatic stuff in it. You should try it.
  7. the graphical fidelity of the crysis/unreal engine. Both feel very optimized. As for ksp, i would like to see more than only build your rocket, fly to a planet (and maybe back to kerbin) and repeat the process. i wanna see GAMEPLAY. things to do when you've made a base on duna. A small 'build' element should be present in ksp. Making small colonies on planets would be very cool. It doesn't have to be very advanced, like building with different kind of modules (science modules, living quarters, hallways, habitat module for plants, etc.) . something like this

    New pc!

Thats probably because of the graphics card, that card costs 750 dollars. OP, may i ask what you are planning to do with that graphics card? Edit: nvm i didn't see you used it for modeling
  9. Although i agree with you about rockstar being a douche for not making the pc version release at the same date as the console version, it WILL come. I read somewhere that rockstar ANNOUNCED and released every pc version (not the 2d ones) after the console version was released. It's funny that people are so overreacting. I can't see a reason for rockstar not to release it on pc. Just have some patience, it'll come.
  10. yup, happends to everyone. I don't think you have to turn off your screen, it's not going to damage something from your screen/computer
  11. do you mean the 7870 or the 7850? the one you said doesnt exist
  12. This looks very promising, i love the roaring sound of the engine! I would LOVE to see this as a extreme high altitude engine, because there aren't any in vanilla ksp AND in any mod so far. It would be a great idea to make a high altitude engine pack, with many kind of intakes. Make it look good like stock parts and you got yourself one of the most popular packs, like KW rocketry did too.
  13. I've played this game so much in the past, i should start again. I love this game!
  14. didn't i post it in off topic? oh sorry, i'll look better where i post next time
  15. Hi, I bought a 7950 3 days ago. I love this thing, but something doesn't seem right.. I've been playing the game 'hawken' for some time now. Pretty nice graphics, and my machine hasn't realy that much troubles with running it on ultra. The problem are the FPS drops. Sometimes i get drops to 35 FPS, which is annoying in a fast pace shooter. I've been looking at GPU activity and FPS in-game, and i don't understand why i would have fps drops if my card is only used for 30 - 40%. My CPU is used for 80 - 95 % on 1 core, and 50 - 70 % on the other 3 cores. Stats: Radeon HD 7950 XFX FX-4170 overclocked from 4.1 to 4.7 Asrock Extreme3 1330 MHz 8GB RAM If my cpu is bottlenecking my GPU, would it be a wise idea to buy a FX-8350? is an 8 core realy worth the price? Or are the fps drops just because hawken is in open beta? Thx for reading
  16. Awesome idea, i'm going to do that too from now on
  17. Hi! I've coded lua for a while in garrysmod. I would love to start making mods/addons for KSP. Where should i start? What program's do i need (like notepad++ and such)? Any advice for good C# tutorials? Thx for reading!
  18. I don't realy care about what will be added, the only thing i care about is the optimalisation. i'm not someone with a 5 or 7 year old PC who can barely run the game. I build myself an awesome rig some months ago. It's just that KSP doesn't feel right. space ships are too wobbly. You can feel that every part has physics. If you have a small stack of 3 fuel containers, you literary SEE the stack bend when in atmosphere, costing framerates for every pc, and especially with huge rockets with +30 parts. even my pc can't handle that. And i'm even forgetting about the drag of every physics object, and other stuff like thrust. Everything (Drag, physics, thrust (what is actually physics)) has to be calculated by your pc EVERY framerate. My idea is that the ship becomes 1 big physics object, and every time stages split, it splits the 1 big physics object in 2 physics objects. 1 big object means that your pc has to calculate extremely less ****, so there will be much more frame rate. Everything would be the same, expect the bending. There wouldn't be any bending anymore. So that means that it becomes unrealistic? NO! in real life welded metal things don't bend too! they break, in pieces. And that is the exact thing what should happen when you don't use enough truts to secure everything. No bending, extremely less physics/drag objects = Much, Much more framerate for EVERY pc. Is the thing what i'm telling inpossible? in my mind it isn't. But enough told about this. It isn't the suggestion forum
  19. I also use(d) a lot of Operating Systems. 1 month ago i tried Ubuntu.. i loved it but there is just allot of things what windows has and ubuntu doesnt. Like.. KSP! And other games. Also programs like Photoshop and Unity.
  20. I was wondering what the opinion is about pirating here, and what would be your solution for it if you're against?
  21. i'm getting a strong urge to learn to code such things
  22. DAMN! thats awesome dude that is an awesome game concept! if you're going to develop, i will surely help you by funding it kickstarter would be awesome to fund, just like Faster than light
  23. Hey guys, When i was young i always played an awesome game. I played it in 2004 or 2005 and it was about tanks and stuff. When you started the game, you could choose a part of earth to battle on (like amerika, russia or afrika) and then you had to choose a mission. After that a menu appeared with what tanks/trucks/soldiers and you started the game. Sometimes the mission was to destroy the enemy base, sometimes to defend your base and sometimes to just destroy every tank of the enemy team. it was possible to get upgrades by grabbing boxes dropped by a heli. ****, i just cant remember it all very well coz i was quite young at that moment. I only remember that i played it with a joystick my dad gave me and he always helped me (good times). if someone thinks he knows the game, post the name please! tnx
Groetjes Ruud. ------- TRANSLATION: hugio said: maybe i shouldn't talk dutch here, but how do you make these mods? and this stuff! i would like to start making something like this but i have no idea how to. where do i have to start =S could you help me? I said: Dear Hugio, You are new here, right? What you told about talking dutch here is right. This is a english forum and talking dutch is not allowed. The problem is that nobody speaks dutch (yea, a little bit. but not even 5%) so these people don't understand you. You're lucky i came along . It isn't a big deal that you speak dutch here, but you shouldn't anymore. If you like to ask such stuff, go to the international forum (almost on the end of the main page). That is the place where you should start a new topic I would gladly help you there! Best wishes, Ruud
