  1. When you edit the save file and have two spacestations in the exact same place. Very pretty debris cloud though.
  2. So: Perogee + Apogee + (2*Radius) and then divide the whole thing in half? Kerbin = 600km Mun = 200km Minmus = 60km (small!) EDIT: I did my calculations for a orbit of exactly 99km and the result it 699km for the SMA. To use it for the save file, it takes it in metres so Result*1000.
  3. Candre, I looked in there and I didn\'t find anything that explains it clearly to a 11 year old. Aphazael, what\'s 1/2? is it a fraction? I\'ll try your technique.
  4. Can someone tell me how to calculate the semi-major axis of an orbit? P = Perogee A = Apogee Attempting to change the persistence file for my very explody spacestation. Reference I used
  5. Well, I was looking at the Vogelspin plane\'s thread and said to myself, why not build your own Ant plane? So here it is. It flys well, has ASAS on it and 3 fuel tanks (may add more). It also has 4 parachutes in case of exploding engine or all the wings fell off emergencies. There are landing gears on every wind because the wings\'ll hit the pavement when going off the runway. Uses swept wings to imitate an ant\'s legs. EDIT: I\'ve added a screenshot of how the wing landing gear works when the plane drives off the runway.
  6. Well, I have one. I found out just now that SAS and ASAS can be used on planes. DERP
  7. I tried the design without the RCS nozzles. Tipped over when turning at high speeds. At least I can salvage my parts from the other pontoon ship that crashed!
  8. Fun little design, I\'ll have to work on it tomorrow and see what it can do. I think the low mass and rigidity of the structural fuselage lends itself perfectly to catamaran building. What are the floaty things? I\'ll try to experiment with those...
  9. Hi again! This time I was experimenting with planes and I found out that if you go slowly enough into the water, you can float on it and move with a engine. But, when the engine gets hot (higher throttle), the water splashes around as if it\'s steaming. Brakes won\'t work (obviously). It\'s VERY hard to move with an engine than if it was on land. Only tested with jet engines. EDIT: when at almost full throttle, it does sound like the engine is choking on water, I guess it is since we\'re moving so slowly... Also, the engine doesn\'t overheat as bad. Very cool! Screenshots are in attachments. Screenshot7 is the one where the water splashes when the engine is warm.
  10. \Wow. Good thing you don\'t have to stop like in that other challenge! I\'m working on mine, it\'s sort of itwantstoflysobadlyanditflysevenwithoutwings. EDIT: my craft keeps drifting to the right and thus explosions galore. I\'ll have to do something...
  11. Yes they are. Boosters are slightly more inefficient.
  12. Good job on two things! Your first post and the record thus far! Happy launchings!
  13. I\'m doing my attempt at this and it seems I have to make it so it\'s heavy enough to not lift off. BIG AIRPLANE, HERE I COME!
  14. Hi guys! I\'m back with another small challenge. How fast can you go (with a spaceplane) before leaving the runway? RULES: no flying stock only you can use rocket parts for your spaceplane! You don\'t have to stop My entry Coming soon!
  15. Now it\'s a matter of fact if I should stay in Minmus or go into orbit...
  16. I just realized it\'s Minmus. Derp. Anyway, I landed on Minmus using my Mun lander. Took a long time to land because of how low Minmus\'s gravity. Looks kewl.
  17. I\'m back! The update is awesome! Just wondering, has ANYONE ever gotten to minimus (with/without mods)? It looks cool. Love the airplanes (anyone care to tell me how to take off? or give me an airplane file?)!
  18. I tried. Remember KSPWiki that used Java and a console? Now comes KSPWiki GUI with Swing!
  19. I just watched the credits. I never realized it was there and then WHOOSH! It\'s like that stupid prezi but this is 1000% times better. Just asking, when did they put in a credits? And it\'s very up-to-date with Mario and the other devs here! EDIT: I watched more of it and Nova was there! And C7.
  20. Awesome! Still can\'t believe this isn\'t April Fool\'s. EDIT:So over a decade and now they\'re (Moach and Harv) 27 which is only around 14-16. ... Amazing.
  21. Stupid migration failed my post. Here: That Bob dealership is somewhere in illinois. Once, my dad let me press the gas pedal on his old car because he thought it WAS on neutral. It was on drive. 8)
  22. chrislo27 Never really play because I was one of the famous scripters but then all of the methods changed and it asploded.
  23. That car must be fun SteevyT. I wish I could drive... (you can tell my age somewhere else, you might\'ve seen in in certain threads...) Though, a manual is good to save $1000 (here in Canada) but on a certain Canadian driving show, oh man you should\'ve seen how many cars they killed with a manual. Right when the last driver went, they ran out of cars so they gave her a question: 'What would you buy, a manual or an automatic?'. She answered right. automatic Also, how much was the car Steevy?
  24. Simple, how low can YOU go? The apogee can be as high as you want, just make the perogee as low as you can (without clipping mountains). You must post a picture of the map view, with your mouse on the Pe sign and a screenshot not in map view around where your perogee is. F1 takes screenshots. Here\'s mine: Lowest is 573 m!
