  1. Jeb is reading contract`s terms during mission: "Kerbin reentry isn`t included in contract..."
  2. Can you tell us a touchdown speed? Maybe your rover is very heavy?
  3. This time nope, because I need to record this movie in full daylight for nice quality, but when night comes it could happen.
  4. Hi ! I uploaded on youtube my video how soundtrack from KSP helps my child as a lullaby . The real thing is that She likes Kerbal music much more than the original Fisher Price lullaby melodies.... Have fun fellows!
  5. Yes You are right, but in Kerbals world we don`t need to warm up instruments, because temparature doesn`t work there. Its just a factor, gives only digits and science. We can also imagine that vessel on standby (hibernation) takes so small amount of power (like clock battery on pc`s motherboard). It only count time for wake up from hibernation. I know its an own explanation
  6. 1st add more space tape 2nd add more space tape 3rd add more space tape! It works everytime.
  7. The only way to make power drain to 0.00 when you send probes is switching to the other ship . Power drains only when You control vessel, so set your trajectory to Eeloo, burn, and switch to another ship and then warp time. Get back to your ship when you need to do some orbital corrections/ insertions /docking only. Dont need to switch off anything - just switch vessel. It`s not a cheating or something. Your probe is hibernated- I.E. see Rosetta ESA mission. It wakes up after long planned hibernation!
  8. Maybe Minimus is made of Manganese(II) oxide? It appear as green and gray crystals or powder. I dont know is it possible to achive crystal or powder form in vacum but for me it looks like Minimus surface. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manganese(II)_oxide
  9. try to off antialiasing, it works for my old machine and rise up FPS dramaticly
  10. Hmm, You can always move your station to lower or higher orbit after creating it, if you want. Station should be almost symmetrical if there is plan to move it. Build station on 120km orbit, add some propulsion, move to keosynchronous orbit. There is always way back to lower plane or going to moon orbit if u want....
  11. Quick tips for You about engines I prefer to use at all stages of my mission to Duna. Of course quantity and types of engines and tons of fuel depends on mass You want to orbit and deliver to Duna orbit or its surface: 1.Going to orbit: Rockomax "Mainsail" for sure... or LV-T45 for smaller crafts. If more thrust needed give some more mainsails every with 3 or 4 Rockomax X200-32 Fuel tanks 2.Inserting parking orbit: Rockomax "Skipper" or Rockomax "Poodle" or LV-T45 for smaller crafts, You need some thrust to insert orbit fast. 3.Interplanetary transfer, orbit changes, nodes correction : there You can use more efficiency engines like LV-N Atomic Rocket Engine, add 3 or more if You got heavy craft. Remember they are efficient but very heavy! You can also use Rockomax "Poodle" or LV-909. 4.Braking to establish orbit on Duna: master aerobraking but if developers end their project it will be harder because of heating. Else, use the same engines like in point 4. 5.Landing/Descent: I preffer radial engines:Rockomax Mark 55 or Rockomax 24-77 or new one: LV-1R Liquid Fuel Engine. Other small engines are also good. Dont use LV-N Atomic to land on Duna because it is heavy and loose some efficient at surface. 6.Ascent: It isnt hard to get in orbit on Duna. Remember to take some fuel with you. But like dlmartin wrote You need to practice orbital/landing techniques. It is more important than engines used in any phase of mission. Gravitational assist is also useful. Have a nice day with creating new duna mission!
  12. Hi, I usually add Rockomax 24-77 for all my landers. That kind of engines have nice Thrust-to-weight ratio and I can always add them more if it`s needed because they are radial. If my lander is rly large I prefer to use Rockomax Mark 55 Radial because it have more thrust. You can laugh on me,but for me Mun landing is one of hardest landings in game. Mun don`t have atmosphere and have surface gravity 1.63 m/s2 what makes it much more than most (tylo or bust :}) of other natural satellites in game. If You master Mun landing, it will be good lesson for other landings.
  13. I think you can also add a probe module to each of your boosters and use a stack separator to detach stage if You don`t want to use any mods. Separated crafts won`t dissapear.
  14. There is a little substitute of orbit between sun and kerbin - you can go prograde or retrograde and after you leave kerbin SOI you have to adjust orbit to be exacly the same like kerbins. It makes your vessel sailing the front or behind planet on the same orbit. Your vessel will never intercept planet SOI. Like i wrote on the beginning - its only substitute but you achive two goals: 1.Ship can be close to home planet. 2.Sun is shining all the time!
  15. Hi, I tried some types of skycranes and I think you need to move your engines below center of mass because its better to push than pull. When throusters are on the on the bottom it`s easier to control your vessel. I dont find any reality in this move but it works fine for all my skycranes. You can build longer arms and add some radial engines but its important to attach them below center of mass or on the bottom.
