Devnotes haven't been later than this for a long time. I have been up too late when I should be in bed waiting for my inevitable dentist appointment of eternal damnation.

Atmospheric scattering!
Whirligig Girl replied to tajampi's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
KSP's terrain is procedural. And there are forests if you turn on terrain scatter. So that might not be a problem. To clarify: The heightmaps and terrain are manually made, but the fine level of terrain generation, including small craters, is procedural. Actually, the original map for Kerbin is the default seed for the LibNoise library, just switched backwards. -
Three brave Kerbals embark on a mission to find out what a mysterious energy-emitting object is. What they find is surprising. As the brave crew in their spacecraft approached the anomalous object, they could make out it's shape. Three cylinders and a disk, connected by pylons of various lengths. "It's some kind of spacecraft" Hudry said. "No, it can't be, we're still a kilometer away" Ersen snapped. "It's clearly a group of asteroids." Rogun agreed. As they approached the anomaly closer and closer, none of them could deny tht it was huge, and that it was a spacecraft. Small areas of exposed machinery were visible, along with windows. Strangely, the anomaly seemed to be dead, no signs of life at all. "Into the lander, let's check this thing out." Hudry told the others. The two clambered aboard the modified lander, whose engine and landing gear were replaced with thrusters and an advanced grabbing unit. They brushed up against the anomaly, then tried to grab on, when they finally attached. Suddenly, the anomaly started shaking, kicking them off. Rogun took this as a demand to leave, so they started flying back to the CSM. Ersen spotted something on the anomoly, an opening, and decided to go inside it instead. Rogun flipped a power switch using the claw, and a picture of the lit-up spacecraft was taken. The two cylinders lit up orange, and the windows came to life. They switched off the power, and went back to the CSM. As they were de-orbiting to Kerbin, they saw the Anomaly vanish, travelling at super speed. No one knows what the darned thing was... But it was definitely a spacecraft. The purpose of this was to demonstrate how fun a contract to investigate some anomolous object would be. It gets put in a strange orbit and you rendezvous with it, take some samples, even grab it with a claw. Bring it back if the contract specifies.

The list still says I have two light green bars. It needs to be updated probably. -

Thank you guys so much for the +Rep. I didn't expect so much! You guys are awesome! -
Thank you very much Shaw, for making TextureReplacer. Jeb was given too much paint and a globe of the Mun.

Jumbo 32 v1.4 NEW UPDATE. [RSS Config]
Whirligig Girl replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Huh, no idea what causes that. I suspect it might be a problem in 6.4x as well. - - - Updated - - - I had to update the OP now because I really don't even remember what I was doing for that config. - - - Updated - - - It is loading, you just have to wait a while. I don't exactly know what the point of that is though. -
What even is this? I'm scared. Things are changing. My +Rep is too tiny. Oh Kraken why.
-
Nope. In fact I like this picture, because there are 7 billion galaxies in the milky way.
-
So this was the only reason negative rep was being tested? I think I might be missing something. I can't give rep to anyone in this thread.

[1.2.2] Stock Part Revamp, Update 1.9.6. Released Source Files!
Whirligig Girl replied to Ven's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
The tanks do not necessarily have orange-insulated bulkheads, but you can clearly see the actual tanks above these engines. -
Offset, because you can't use WASDQE to translate a part, only rotate it in place mode.

[1.2.2] Stock Part Revamp, Update 1.9.6. Released Source Files!
Whirligig Girl replied to Ven's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I don't like them on the tanks, though I would be fine with them on the grey Rockomax tanks, because they're supposed to be silver-ish. Definitely on some of the details of the Kerbodyne parts need shiny chrome bits. It should be used sparingly. -
HypeTrain: The mechanical nature of it.
Whirligig Girl replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in The Lounge
Well, sorta. Metaspace is the land where the railway is mostly built upon, not being earth's atmosphere, not being a vacuum, not being an atmosphere. It's hard to explain. Well, now there's an atmosphere on the way to Kerbin. So erm.. that complicates things. Hence the locomotive's redesign. -
Old versions of KSP (some versions still wanted!)

NASAMission No Worky KSP V90 ??
Whirligig Girl replied to Cdr_Zeta's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I'm having difficulty understanding what you're saying, but you need the NASAmission and Squad folder in the gamedata folder. You might need to update your NASAmission somehow. I'm having no problems with Size 3 parts or asteroids. PlanetFactory, meanwhile, does not work in 0.90 -
It was in the plan, I said. I know about the fuel in those old versions. Read the quote at about the 6th paragraph. Jet engines ended up being in the game when they diecided to implement oxidizer, you intake air and oxidizer were added and oxidizer was just added to tanks. You could argue that those older engines were Nuclear Thermal Rockets, because of their relatively low thrust and that they drink fuel only.
-
This was from July 2011, so yeah, there really was a plan for these things really early on. The funny thing is that originally, there was going to be separate oxidizer and fuel tanks, and liquid fueled rocket engines would use the atmosphere for air. So basically, originally, all engines would have been SABREs (RAPIERs). Link to the Orbiter Forum thread for KSP. The OP is weird, because HarvesteR updates it for some major releases so yeah, but everything below it is basically like the history of dev/player interaction. And for a rather long time, people just called Kerbin "Kearth". Starting with just one person, diogom. Even HarvesteR himself referred to that joke. Also, 0.8.1 was going to be the last free version. The preorder page was going to be available after that, and presumably was until 0.13.3, the REAL last unpaid version. And this gem of fanart lost to time, by Jedimaster1214 of the orbiter forum.

I wish I could learn to play an instrument. I can sing. But I can't with the instruments. Advice: If you EVER meet another person with compatible gender to yours who plays Kerbal Space Program, this is essentially the same as an ideal scenario. Disclaimer: Never dated anyone.

Single Stage Rockets don't have SRBs, and if they did, they wouldn't be able to detach.
