  1. You could generate and beam up power by using the vacuum of space for cheap solar panels. Then you uise a maser to beam the power back to Earth.
  2. Should hav used the Saturn song from the planets, not the Jupiter.
  3. Does powder toy simulate gravity?
  4. A Jaw just fell on my floor. Is anyone still missing it?
  5. A similar solution could be done with electric servos, and it wouldn't rely on pumping fuel.
  6. ASAS unit costs 1,000 dollars or so in game, fits in a huge case with a 1 meter diameter, and yet it is but an extremely buggy and glitchy function in a 20 dollar game created by an Indie Game developer.
  7. It had been a great day for me that day! I went to the bar earlier today, and I found a penny. It was even SHINY! but more importantly, I saw, while the bartender was mixing my drink, that alcohol is flammable. After I had my drink, I asked him. "Hey, Bart, What's the strongest stuff you have here?" "I have pure alcohol, that's pretty strong." He looked puzzled as to why I would need something so strong. "I'll take 400 liters of the stuff!" I excaimed. I put the many many bottles of liquor in my truck, and headed to the junkyard. "Alright, I have got a GREAT idea!, Bill!" Bill was working on a new design for a solid rocket motor. "Bill, put away that SRB scribblin', I need you to make something MUCH better." I showed him the alcohol. "But first I need you to go to the store and get 400 liters of Nitrous Oxide, the stuff in whipped cream cans. They'll make an excellent oxidizer." Bill stared at me. "What the moho are you thinking, Jeb? SRBs have oxidizer built in to the grain!" I showed him the alcohol. "Alcojhol is flamable, and with an Oxidizer, it'll get a much bigger boom in space." Over the next few hours we got to work designing the LV-T30 Liquid Fueled rocket motor, and the FL-T800 fuel tank. Using these, the plan is to get into space, and fall back down. I asked my mom to make a quilt we could use for a parachute. I found some scrap metal in the junkyard, and I, with the help of my assistant Danny, worked it into a (mostly) airtight command capsule. The launch of the Moho 7 Rocket is imminent.
  8. This is a story where not just one person writes the story, anyone can. As long as their idea is not too far out of the way of the story. This story will tell the story from 4 points of view of the Space Center's formation. 1: :)Wernher Von Kermnan: In his mid-30s, Von Kerman is something of a dreamer. He has had this idea in his head that you would use huge rockets to land on other planets and Muns. He is also a great rocket scientist, creator of the Kerggregat-4 Missile, used against Lololondon during Kerbin War II. 2: :cool:Jebidiah Kerman: Jeb, mid-20s, Is a thrillmaster, an adrenaline junkie, and... Well, you get the idea. His Junkyard exists only so that he can assemble crazy contraptions to get the Adrenaline pumping. After Jeb heard of the "Rocket" he was hooked, creating a very successful rocket, that is little more than "a trash bin full of boom". 3: :mad:Bill: Bill is Jeb's brother, late 20s, and does not really like Jeb's shenanigans. He's afraid he'll get himself hurt, or worse: dead. He tries his best to keep his brother in check, but he is usually too late. The two live in apartments next to each other. 4: :)Bob: Bob is a teenager, and he loves science fiction. Ever since he saw Stayputnik go up, he knew he was going to be an astronaut. Please note who you are posting about with one of the above smileys.
  9. Well for one thing, the Ramscoops are ugly, and cheat-y. The CoL (don't know what Cos is) has to be behind the CoM.
  10. I played KSP 0.13.3 for a long time, and I only started the full game right after 0.16 came out. Don't think that counts, but in my day, there was certainly no fancy shcmancy "Steam" program to run the game from. There weren't even planets. Not that I could even land on the Mun at that point...
  11. Great story. It takes away the sad tale of the ended space programs, and brings new excitement to it!
  12. I'm okay with a purple eve, just one with a more pale dull color and MUCH thicker atmosphere.
  13. When I found Orbiter 2010, I had recently came out of Spore. I found not only that it had none of the fun things Spore had, but it was HARD. I then ended up finding Kerbal Space Program. I saw the trailer video, downloaded 0.13.3 (This was around the time of 0.15) and played it for a while. I finally asked my parents if I could get Kerbal Space program 0.16, as 0.17 was coming very soon after. They said yes, I ended up on a very difficult time paying for it and downloading subsequent versions, and I never looked back to Orbiter again! (Well, sort of, I figured maybe I could try it again since I was no longer a n00b to spaceflight, I couldn't)
  14. Capture burn in simple. When at the edge of Eve's SOI, lower the Eve's periapsis inside the atmosphere. Alternativley, you could lower the periapsis outside of the atmosphere and point retrograde at periapsis and burn.
  15. I'd like to see an Io-like Laythe, Jool with a big blue spot and more contrast in the clouds, ranging from yellow to bluish green. A Venusian Eve with a purple-bluish atmosphere and clouds, and a pale-dull-purple land (The thick clouded version of Eve you showed, but with a more bluish atmosphere) I'd like to see Duna with a slightly orange tint, a much smaller northern polar cap, a slightly smaller southern polar cap. I'd like to see a more brownish Ike.
  16. How is it installed? And how did you make the atmosphere on Eve? are the clouds visible on the surface?
  17. These lifters really let me design what I want. I am no longer strained by my inability to design a good launcher, I can build virtually any payload and have a Zenith or Nova series rocket handle the launch. Of course if your payload is not structurally capable it doesn't really matter, the payload may still break.
  18. So, you can just transfer 0.20 craft files between SubassemblyLoader and the VAB/SPH?
