  1. Wow, Great job! That is awesome!
  2. No, it is impossible. TWS of less than 1 on the Ion engine in Kerbin's atmosphere. I see people talking about strut crumple zones, etc, but the OP CLEARLY states Ion engines ONLY. No, it's impossible.
  3. Ugh, enough Whackjob worship for one day. Give credit where it is due. Good job OP... and cantab ,holy crap at the Xenon.... LOL
  4. I don't understand why people just make crap up. It's really just wasting other people's time.
  5. My first mun landing was.... surprisingly uneventful. I had made about ten orbital flights around Kerbin, from there went straight for a mun landing vs a flyby. built a rigid legged probe, landed fine. second landing had an unmanned rover. third flight was my first manned landing (and return). Didn't get a screenshot of my first landing, but here's the second landing with the rover. Looking back, its funny how inefficient my beginning designs were. First Manned landing (Bill Kerman)
  6. I can also attest head shots still work on land... water kills pretty much everything at a certain velocity.
  7. Calling you out on that one... Said craft, even on orbits that dip into the atmosphere, don't lose a single meter of d/v because if you aren't currently "focused/playing" that craft, it doesn't do physics calculations on it. Test it yourself... put a satellite in a 75 by 30km orbit, and watch from tracking station. Won't lose a single meter.
  8. guilty as charged... 21 mods currently installed, lol...
  9. That must have been killin ya....
  10. 1: Get Kerbal Attachment System. 2: Build a cargo transporter with a bunch of bins filled with RCS ports for your Kerbals to EVA and attach. 3: ????? 4: Profit!
  11. When I first heard about KSP, it was some random guy in Wurm Online. I thought "A game where you build your OWN rockets!? And then orbit them and explore other places!!?? TAKE MY MONEY" but surprisingly, most people I know just... don't get it, or don't care enough about space to be interested. I have gotten two people hooked on it, though. One of em was a temporary hook, don't think he still plays. Other one is taking a break til .24. Me? I have quite a bit going on... in the midst of a massive SSTO/Spaceplane addiction, have an Apollo style mission on Mun right now (I usually do.... Mun is my playground) building a full time refuelling depot, with plans to put fuel depots in various solar orbits and around Eve/Duna/Jool, which are the big 3 that I visit the most. Also have a Moho mission going atm. Lol..
  12. This is the sort of stuff that I love love love, not all the Whackjob type stuff. Anyone can build ginormous craft. Not everyone can use engineering and physics to build a workable first. Very well done!
  13. WOW is all I can say.... Denny, you have truly outdone yourself. This is the most lovingly recreated Saturn V/ Apollo vehicle set I have ever seen. It is so beautifulllllll.... I LOVE the LEM covers and how they open like petals, just like the real thing. Man, 10/10. Just great work!
  14. Have used the claw once.... grappled an asteroid second day of ARM update, quickly stopped caring about asteroids when I realized you can't put flags, can't use them as kethane bases, etc. Never thought to use it as a ship builder....
  15. Ice cap for sure. I did all my land speed runs there.
  16. Decided to build a "museum" of historic spacecraft. had a few SSTO's parked there. For a long time, there was a large wreck of an SSTO in the water just east of the runway on the coast, a result of a failed SSTO launch. Backflipped just after takeoff, causing me to abort. Capsule detached and landed safely, and the wreck somehow survived the plunge into the waters. So, I got this brilliant idea. Why not build a crane and retrieve the wreckage, and put it in my "museum"? A very intense recovery attempt ensued, with successful retrieval of the wreckage, and placement of the wreck in my "museum" next to the parked SSTO's. Pics of the retrieval and placement in museum... Now, this was all well and good, but there was one problem. All these craft sitting on the KSC grounds caused incredible lag for current launches. So I decided to relocate my museum to the Island Base just east of KSC. The two intact SSTO's were no problem, as I could just refuel them and fly em over... but how to get the wreck over there? Engage Inspector Gadget mode! First, I tried building a huge raft to float it over. After about two hours of frustration trying to haul the raft over to the water with my crane and failing every time due to the load swinging and contacting the ground and exploding, I decided to try a skycrane design and I'd just fly it over. Two more hours pass by, and I finally come up with a useable design. At this point I was pretty excited! So, I launched the skycrane, and flew it over to the museum, which was right by the SPH. Lo and behold, the wreckage is gone! Why? Because the game despawns wreckage that is on KSC grounds... so I spent 4-5 hours trying to build a transport for a piece of debris that ceased to exist as soon as I had placed it on the KSC museum grounds and gone to Space Center. FUUUUUUUUUU! I had to laugh...
  17. Dock some stuff together, then try for some flybys of Mun and Minmus... then it's time for landings!
  18. I very much like the look of the orange tank topped by that small half sized white one.
  19. Hehe... like John Glenn, thinking to himself before his famous launch that the rocket he was sitting on was built by the lowest bidders...
  20. Neat, Astro! Love the museum idea! I see you set it up on the island airfield to avoid launch area lag... smart man. Think I`ll start doing this, minus the stands... gonna start landing "historic" return missions there and museum them where they land
  21. Im a noob with two years of KSP, lol. I feel ya. I see other peoples stuff and I`m just like.... DUBYUH TEE EFF. Makes all my stuff look like pathetic little sicklings.
