What if you were given your country's space program?
tom1499 replied to Drunkrobot's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Pff, the Cyprus space program isn't really a space program as much as... not a space program. They don't have one. I think we inherit to ESA, but don't actually contribute. We have a space office though. I think. But the sad thing is rocketry is banned in Cyprus, so no model rockets for me. But say we started one, and no bans on rocketry existed I suppose I would start ACTUALLY BUILDING A ROCKET. -
Paint it like a standard rocket, with Saturn stripes or whatever then in bold letters paint K S P down one side. Oh and you should paint the top like the 1 man pod with a kerbals face peeking through.

If you have two joysticks you can do just that, I did it with FASA's gemini, as it had low power reaction wheels and RCS was better. Went to the moon like that.

P.S.A (-ish) Crime is not never going to happen to you
tom1499 replied to Cooly568's topic in The Lounge
I think none of the above are very valid options, if you were going to get a weapon something like a taser would be best, as even in self defense, assault and possibly manslaughter (I know nobody's gonna be murdering everybody, unless you arm yourself with a katana or a knife) can still cause many legal problems even if not fines or prison charges, court is not fun.(probably, any lawyers gonna back me up?) I'm quite lucky in that where I live crime rate is low, and the locals don't really go for petty crimes like robbery, although we get the occasional crazy crime. Once the body of one of the previous presidents was stolen, we don't really know why or by who but hey. But crime rate is rising as more foreigners move here. -
I don't think its as groundbreaking as the dude claims it is, but it's very pretty. But I think it's more about the terrain and stuff that makes it good. Ohh and .NET scripts......

I think whats more important is the gravity increase from the lack of centrifugal (please don't start arguing about that too) force pulling you up would mean that all those dieters on the equator would be heavier again. A bit. A very minuscule bit.

Go for it. Once you get your head round Unity and CFG's its a piece of cake. I would recommend just tinkering with the stock parts, just try and make an antenna function like a battery or something, model a fuel tank or whatever, and replace a stock model with it in a new part.

If we get the Reds to the moon with an L3 complex - An LK + blok D, an LOK and the blok E then that would be epic, all launched on the L3 N1. Beat the damn Kermaricans! (No offense to americans, I am neither american nor russian so It's not favoritism, I just think the USSR had cooler rockets.

Neptune panel... YES! -
He he he, half my code I can't understand anyway, I just keep writing until it works and don't dare stop lest I forget what was vaguely defined in my head.

Rhyunix's KSP Artwork - Current Work: Full Throttle- Accepting requests!
tom1499 replied to Rhyunix's topic in KSP Fan Works
Gah stop giving him so many requests guys! -
http://jalopnik.com/5883458/how-to-fly-a-soyuz-space-capsule Some control info from the current soyuz, may be useful. http://suzymchale.com/ruspace/soyconsole.html Soyuz consoles, includes one from the 7K Ah, just read what you said, text based. THAT'S AWESOME! But if there are still images being displayed then they could be based on these panels. I think it quite suits how spaceflight is mostly instrumentation and communication based, as in as long as you can see the instruments you can get where you want to go. It's nice to see an original game for once in a while.

On the Ethics of One-Way Landing Missions ...
tom1499 replied to LameLefty's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I try to save kerbals the pain of living on the surface of a planet for eternity. I'm the guy who refuses to kill characters in games unless absolutely necessary. I've taken massive extra measures to not kill people before in skyrim. Jeb is still sitting on Minmus though, but it should be easy enough to pick him up. He's got solar panels though, so i don't feel too bad for him. He gets to see home everyday, and also feels like superman, apparently. -
OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD! 7K-LOK and LK! This gonna be awesome! Love the music aswell! So is this gonna be all lots of buttons and panels and gauges, or more just looks? Becuase if I've gotta' turn on my turbo-pumps and open up valves then this would game be awesome. Oh the 7K-LOK uses fuel cells! It's also bigger than any other soyuz variant! So many new facts! http://www.astronautix.com/craft/soy7klok.htm There's a lovely article, in case you haven't discovered astronautix yet. http://www.russianspaceweb.com/soyuz.html In depth looking one here. http://orbiterspaceport.blogspot.com/2011/07/soyuz-7k-lok-panel.html PANELS! What engine are you making it in? Unity? Custom built? MonoGame/XNA? If unity or XNA I presume you are using C#. I'll try to find some operating instructions but it looks like you may have to abstractify the actual working procedures.

In terms of object Oriented Programming, it should be relatively easy to learn with c++ knowledge. It's more similar to Java, but if you know c++ you should be good. Just some new quirks with Managed Language stuff.

Probably a Third Hand from lidl a few days ago. Not exactly multi-billion euros but hey. But online my most recent was robotics parts. @OP lovely keyboard there, got one too.

I've got a Mad Catz/Cyborg F.L.Y 5 stick. I don't play flight sims much so cant really say how it performs compared to others, but I love the thing. It's comfy in my hand, I can adjust it to however I feel, 9 buttons, two micro throttles, POV hat and a scroll wheel. All for 50 euros. Only problem is that it's quite stiff to start moving, so not good for precision bursts. But thats what my Attack 3's for.

I'm sure if they discovered a particle that let Facebook show you more pictures, or faster 3G internet, the public would be quick to shut up and let the scientists just keep on sciencin'.

So... I signed up for classes for my final semester of college today.
tom1499 replied to User Unrelated's topic in The Lounge
That sounds like an awesome course! -
I use AVG now, as I lost McAffee when I wiped my disk. It was the worst AV software I've had. It was HORRIBLY sluggish and had the worst user interface. I made no attempt to renew or reinstall even though I had 6 months left on license. Got it free with my laptop. Considering moving to Avast as I've heard good things.

I laughed at myself thinking when it veered at the end: easily recoverable. Everyday launch occurrence in KSP! Also I kept on mumbling 'C'mon Range' waiting for it to be detonated. But that acting was pretty hilarious.
