  1. I thought the braking retro-rockets were like a ten-second burn or something! Not BOOM and thats it. That was a fantastic video.
  2. Yeah, I installed ages ago, I don't really touch multiplayer for that very reason. (plus I don't normally multiplayer on games anyway) But quite a good game, albeit a bit slow for those who are used to the fast-paced action of FPSes. But it would be fantastic with an Oculus and some more content.
  3. Thinking of getting one for christmas, as I've wanted one for a while but I am truly unsure. I'm also gonna try and build a rover, so need to price up stuff on that. But I would love to get my hands on that lovely devkit. Anyone got one? Tried any demos? Used a friends? Love it? Hate it? Discuss.
  4. Yes, my trusty laptop was getting its motherboard replaced, and I was confined to the *joys* of my old 11 inch. On linux it was fantastic, but still couldn't run anything.
  5. You already have FASA installed, telemachus could make some nice mission control pictures, I suppose the Real Space Experience by Jeti is only for gameplay.
  6. Yay for pretty pictures! Um, wow. Just looked at tape altimeters and ,JEEZ, thats some amount of gears. Not a bother though if you have modern motors and Micro-controllers. Have you considered just going with the roller-disc-thing ones? Depending on the range and number size it might be quite big, but may be easier to make and less fragile? My god those navballs are sexy. Someone actually picked one up at an auction, what a lucky dude. Looking at your earlier picture, this might be a fun little project for me to investigate, any comments on that? Just looking for any info on the Gemini FDAI equivalent. Barely anything on it. All I know is it had 4 gimbals to avoid gimbal-lock and that it was used in Gemini.
  7. Oh god hide Whackjob is going in to the weapons business!
  8. I suppose the whole 'Flags and Footprints' thing goes with this. The name of the game is space travel, the game is politics and PR. Sad really that we can only achieve great things when we make them a PR Stunt. Not to put down the first Astronauts, who were brave and intelligent men, but they kinda were just faces for the press and tools for scientists and engineers. Even the astronauts themselves coined the term 'Chimp Mode' for when Mercury was on automatic mode, and they were just there to admire the view.
  9. I only had about 25 posts anyhow, despite having an account for many months before that.(I used to lurk a lot) It was like a time machine flung us back to October 2012. Nasty!
  10. These are pretty awesome! The station ones especially would be awesome in a parts pack.
  11. Good 'ol' duct tape. I once bought 100 meters of the stuff and it was gone in a few weeks!
  12. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kapton Space and high temp range rated tape. Who would have thought! But unfortunately it looks like it has a short life in high temperatures and stuff. Ohh Sciencey Stuff. It looks like it will be used on the James Webb Space Telescope as well. Apollo used it to thermally insulate the LM and the Shuttle used it as wire insulation. JPL says it would be ideal on solar sails as a plastic support. It is also used in x-ray and 3-d printing. Nasa quality assurance here. Add more tape!
  13. Looking forward to it! Awwww I wanted 100th page.
  14. Yeah, I quite enjoyed those levels in Osmos. Took me about 5 seconds to realize what was going on though. There was that game on Android that came out, everyone said it was like 2D ksp. Also 'Curiosity: The Mars Mission' is a fun and free Android game. My Kindle unfortunately lost its root and I can't seem to re-root so I cannot use Google play! Oh noes!
  15. They do that where I live, it's commonplace to see a washing machine for 299,99 euros. Quite funny really.
  16. Tough one here. I'm gonna go with the mean and say Dwarf Fortress is pretty complex, and I'm just downloading Aurora. May get flamed for it but Garry's Mod when played in a more technical way than shooting random zombies with the WireMod mod can be pretty involving.
  17. I forsee another 'dispute' coming up.
  18. Who needs weapons when you have RAMMING!
  19. No way I would do that. My sister brought it up a few days after I read about it and said it would be awesome. I started telling her about how horrible an experience it would be and how one week of nothing would be bad enough and the differences between sitting around in the house doing nothing and not being able to move for months. I think she kinda blanked out when I started telling her how she cant just waste her whole 70 days watching TV.
  20. Me and my mate ALWAYS used to get kicked on Ace of Spades for being too good. We would actually stop shooting sometimes so we didn't get kicked or banned. It was an almost daily occurence. My god I loved that game.
  21. Wow. I spent several hours on it when my laptop died on me and I was on my pre-historic linux 11 inch. USSR obliterated me. The US obliterated me. I took many risks. Too many.
