  1. All I see is an agile plane... I would like to know what the I-beams in the middle does though.
  2. Didn't expect this to fly, it tumbled for a while though.
  3. This is only from what I see.. The CoM should be towards the front a little more since your plane is pretty large(it looks heavy, at least), you can adjust the fuel in the tanks to see the effect on the CoM as the fuel drains, the CoM might shift too far back as the fuel drains and render the plane unstable. Remember, you can also move the CoL back if moving the CoM forward is too hard. You can also run some fuel lines from the front tanks you got to the fuel tanks the engines are using. It should be able to reach orbit, attach some RAPIERs and try it out yourself.
  4. On exile at the island airport alongside Bill and Bob. They are being monitored by an unmanned fighter.
  5. I see. From what I see, the sled component should have these requirements. 1: Able to support the weight of your rocket 2: Able to survive going down the runway at high speeds without breaking while carrying the rocket In my opinion, building a sled that is able to do that for a large rocket is part of the challenge.
  6. Guys, this is a challenge, just build it if you're interested. "No point in building this since its not efficient" How about that jet-only circumnavigation challenge? You can travel the same distance by going suborbital with rockets, why build a plane for that? That mainsail-only interplanetary challenge? You can use nuclear rockets, why use mainsails? That's what you guys are saying. Come on. OP even posted a link for the rocket sled. If you're going to exploit the rules, don't post your entry. Sure its not efficient, but who cares? /rant Anyway, I'll get to doing this once I get the time.
  7. I think it should be clear how the rocket is supposed to be launched. Does it start horizontal on the sled? Does the sled have to be on rocket power? Things like that. Gotta prevent people putting some rover wheels on their rocket, rolling it to the end of the runway at 20m/s and launching it vertically.
  8. Not that it matters, this challenge is about building a rocket, and putting said rocket on a rocket sled that can support the rocket's weight and get it moving. Anyway, just wondering, any bonus points for least amount of wheels used on the sled?
  9. Since I got a kerbal on the north pole after a test flight for a new plane... I decided to make a house for him since it's a pretty place. Transporting it will be another issue.
  10. Took a new plane for a test flight, then it somehow led to a trip to the north pole. This camera angle is pretty good. Diving. And landed. I forgot to pack the ladders. I don't think it has enough fuel to fly back, looks like Hanbrett Kerman is gonna be the mayor of a new city on the north pole.
  11. When I was testing out a land vehicle a while back. "It's not like this thing will ever get airborne and cras- Crap."
  12. I think that losing should be only for Ultra Hard mode or something, where penalties for losing crew members and failures are much larger.
  13. "Totally not gonna work." It was built for a challenge, if I remember correctly.
  14. A picture would be useful, especially with the CoM and CoL markers.
  15. I usually use an air-intake-to-engine ratio of 1:1 or 2:1.
