[PLUGIN+PARTS][0.23] SCANsat terrain mapping
Draemar replied to damny's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Hey, I don't get it. My ScanSat is always scanning gray... I have the smallest version. (the first you unlock in research). Thought it would be due to City lights plugin and took it off. But it's the same. Alway grey... EDIT: Forget about this silly question. Just went on and read the page about SCANsat. Sorry for your inconvenience! -
Tópico de Boas Vindas - Deixe aqui seu oi!
Draemar replied to Climberfx's topic in Portuguese (Português)
Oi, malta. -
This leaves me to think, why hasn't Squad ever thought of "bubble" canopies? Would look great on ALL planes! Great Work too! Best.
-
Yeah, I get your point...

Hi there, I don't know if this might be the proper thread, but thought I'd share my simple, custom made flag, after my country. For any of you who might be interested feel free to download. Anyways, why not a Flag sharing thread? So I invite you post yours.

Yeah, man, provide us with that awesomeness with the craft file! -
Little Flyer III - Solar ULM - No Batteries Included
Draemar replied to Draemar's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Disarmingbaton5 - Yeah, it sure was bolted there at the very last minute... You got that right, tachnicalfool! I had already thought about it too. Nice contraption you got there too. I'm just not a great fan of mechjeb! Let me get to the two pilots version, then... hehe! -
Little Flyer III - Solar ULM - No Batteries Included

I haven't ever tried to take it there - Chances are it might work there, but maybe only on the lower altitudes... my guess! -
Little Flyer III - Solar ULM - No Batteries Included
Draemar replied to Draemar's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
That's a great idea, a two seater! Maybe we can make one in tandem and another in parallel! I'l try it next chance I have. And yeah, gonna try also those bats on the tail. Don't be shy to share your Solar ULM's in here people, even if the design is much different, it's all about sharing, right!? -
Little Flyer III - Solar ULM - No Batteries Included
Draemar replied to Draemar's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Glad to see you guys liking it!!! And RUNE, yeah, about the ladder, I didn't know how to get the kerbal on the seat while designing the thing (now I know) and forgot to remove it! :P One more thing, I've tried it with the small nose cone at the front , without avionics, and it is a bit better. I believe that is because of the weight and the avionics nose cone is useless in this plane. hyperformer - I would love to show more, though I'm a bit jammed with work right now, but thanks a lot! Elven_sword - I've only tested it during high noon, hehe! But it still flies fine. -
Hi everyone! For those who liked my first concept of a Little Solar Flyer, here's the update on the same. This has no batteries at all, it can fly all day (as long as there's xenon) with only the sun and the 5 units power on the OKTO2. it weights 1.89 tons. 73 parts. Top speed of about 40 m/s. I haven't taken long to test it due to work, but it flies really well, it is just a bit nose heavy, but you can adjust it with the Alt+S/W trim keys to maintain a fair flight. This is most likely to be easy to solve with weight distribution, I don't just have more time for that now. Remember to disable wheel steering as well as the motors for a more real ULM performance, as it starts raising the tail, gear up. At about 18 to 20 m/s, give it positive pitch, and you're on your way! NOTE: Remember not being able to land? Solved with the use of EAS-4 Strut connector. Somehow it increases drag and weight, so that the little bugger is a lot more easy to land. Fly low, slow and enjoy! Craft File: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k0aequztsh134yz/Little%20Flyer%20III.craft A few Pics: On runway take-off: And... flying around:

Star Wars: Tie Fighter (in orbit around kerbin)
Draemar replied to zanzibar196's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
You can accelerate time during gameplay, get on Kerbol side orbit, and THEN start shooting... Thought you should know... -
Isplore looks cool, but not very practical...

On Minmus it is fairly easy to make this, I'm working on the control thrusters as we speak, to have better balance while maneuvering. Just have to retract the solar panels for precaution. Maybe I'll have a new exploratory ship developed now that we have the new seats (lighter). I had to put it on top for balance reasons also. The rover has a landing platform on the back. Maybe I'll equip it with two small ships, then. Probotz, It was made to get to the Mun, but this was the first time it brought the small ship, so I targeted Minmus for testing reasons due to low gravity. It might get to other systems, but I reckon we'd have to review the entire launch system.
-
I have posted my rover in its own thread, but never got feedback from anyone else, so, here we go. I't equipped with a little ship, for further exploring, and kethane apparatus for refueling. Also, it can jump around from kethane mining spots to others.
-
My point exactly!
-
my original one has the same problem... plus, if you start pitching up and down you'll get even more speed, this is like a silly ornithopter. Better them guys at squad take a look at this, its "unphysical". Nice design you guys, BTW!
-
I think you could have another design for this concept. Don't take me wrong, but batteries on the body, over the wheels axis? they should be the lowest possible to keep the center of gravity low.
-
So, while exploring the new big wheels, I made this big guy. First with a Bobcat Industries mk3 (I thinks) rover, attached to a side, for deployment and exploring. (this you can adapt if you get the craft file) Later, I thought this would serve well as a mobile base, still asking for a little exploration vehicle. Then the RAMROD came up. Based on designs from about three months ago, the thing got better due to kethane, along with what I call the Grasshopper. A little exploratory pod, able to take off from the Ramrod and go to... explore something else... Now you can land, explore, drill for kethane and keep on going with the beast for further data recollecting. The ramrod is designed for small gravity worlds, you drill kethane, convert and jump to other location of interest with the grasshopper attached on top (for balance reasons, for it was to be placed on the back observation platform) The launch system is the same a fellow KSPlayer designed version of MOLAB from NASA. (Respect!!!) I just don't remember the dude's name right now. There is one thing though, while on take off, you'll have to pay attention to the stages, as they're not in the correct order (My bad). I'd try to correct them but I don't have the time right now. NOTE: The pictures do not correspond perfectly with the final product. Some improvements were made, for better use, and not tested (But for sure they are better...) NOTE 2: Test the thing. All the major work is done, you just have to tweak a bit with the parts for it. Craft file (mod version): https://www.dropbox.com/s/xtjaihhy06cdtj9/Jump%20M%26E%20Rover%20Ramrod.craft STOCK (What the heck!), with Hitch-hiker Module (415 parts) : https://www.dropbox.com/s/q8yqxx0xjkbtu9b/Jump%20Explorer%20Rover%20Ramrod%20STOCK.craft Parts: 419 Mods: Kethane pack Launching: Pretty much the same, gravity turn started on 10 000m (or even a bit more, say... 13 to 15 thousand) to 45 degrees then circularize and... there you go. After that, you'll have to pay attention to the external tanks on the Ramrod, these wil get you to the moon or minmus, but when these are empty, you can jettison them to carry less load and a better performance. Feel free to put questions or suggestions, friends. I think this is the best I've ever made and I have also a Stock version aboard (without kethane though, you can't refuel your grasshopper). If you care to request. Enjoy, and fly higher! The full apparatus... For the better performance of drilling, there are four gigantors. The Grasshopper, after deployment: They all look pretty, don't they?

Thanks a lot for the info... but there should be a way of knowing this while on the VAB (or SPH), during assembly!
