  1. It's finally time to do the last few maneuvers needed to get WPK-765 into LKO. Next up it will be time to get a crew up there to gather samples as it passes over all the Kerbin biomes.
  2. WPK-765 is finally in position for aerobraking at Kerbin
  3. Not only no but Hell No! This would take approximately 0.1 seconds to become mega annoying and send me looking for a way to turn it off permanently.
  4. Ok, I've seen a lot in KSP but I've never seen anything quite like this before
  5. I'm getting two ships into position. One for Asteroid WPK-765 and another one to attempt recovering science from Sundiver 1
  6. The rendezvous with XBM-519 draws close and it becomes obvious it's not going to work. Time to pick a different target.
  7. The only "achievements" that I'd want in game would be those provided by the Final Frontier mod that allows you to keep track of the first kerbal to land on a body, first to orbit, first to do this or that... Actual popup "achievements" that pop up and break immersion? not only no but hell no
  8. This thing is proving to be something of a problem and I'm running out of time, it's getting too close for easy course changes.
  9. I've been playing around with Orbiter off and on since 2006 or so. Strangely enough, the most fun I've had with it hasn't been going to other planets so much as flying the XR-2 Ravenstar on the speed run from Kennedy Space Center to Wideawake International on Ascension Island (roughly 8000 km). My personal best time so far is 20min 35 sec from wheels up to wheel stop. Edit: if a ship like the XR-2 could ever be built in KSP I'd love to try a similar flight from KSC to the "2nd KSC"
  10. It turns out that flying a class E asteroid is no walk in the park. Just keeping it from tumbling out of control is a challenge.
  11. I'm ok with something like this so long as there is an option to turn it off globally in the settings.cfg. Things like camera shake, FOV changes & such ilk are bad things for folks like myself that are prone to motion sickness problems.
  12. I get asked this often enough that I made this up to answer. Mods I’m Using In KSP (0.23.5 Career Mode) I have been thinking of adding a few more mods, when I do I'll update that list
  13. I've a few channels. The relevant one is in my .sig Kerbal Space Program LP's going back to 0.16
  14. Personally, I think that giving players reasons to go to other destinations beyond Kerbin and more things to do anywhere, is why Squad should give serious reconsideration to resources. Using satellite mapping as well as landing probes (manned or unmanned, some places are simply not well suited to manned only missions) to locate them. Then landing ships to mine, refine and transfer to orbiting fuel / resource stations for further distribution, Etc.
  15. I've found that I get the best results with Fraps. Open Broadcast Software is also pretty good. There used to be a problem with Fraps when changing scenes where KSP would crash occasionally but I've not seen that happen since 0.23. Though to be safe it's easy enough to stop recording, change scenes and then restart the recording. If you're recording for Youtube (and probably even if not) you'll probably be interested in the Raise Minimum Ambient Lighting mod so that stuff is visible on the night side of whatever. Very useful even if you otherwise fly strictly stock
  16. It's finally time to grab the asteroid. It turns out that it's not that hard to do, rather very much like any ordinary docking maneuver except that instead of a ship you're docking with a decent sized chunk of mountain.
  17. Raise Minimum Ambient Lighting because youtube darkens videos too much and for videos being able to actually SEE on the "dark side" of whatever is kinda important. Enhanced Navball because even devs said it's function was intended to be in stock Precise Node because I'd rather use actual numbers when plotting a course FAR for better aerodynamics Either Docking Alignment Indicator by Navyfish or the Lazor Docking Cam (standalone version) because it only makes sense MechJeb for in flight info in customizable windows & smart a.s.s. KW Rocketry for more and bigger engines, tanks & fairings
  18. Apparently you've not seen Stargate SG-1. That said, it may take a long time to realize any practical applications but there is actual theoretical work being done on a number of possible forms of FTL drives.
  19. The Sundiver probe is finally reaching solar periapsis. with it's closest approach at 1.5 kilometers it's moving many times faster than anything else in the Kerbol system
  20. Y'know back in the days of 300bps manual dial modems a statement like that would have inspired me to argue the point and prove that you do not, in fact, exist. That said, thanks for the nostalgia trip, The old "blither boards" were fun. Welcome and fly safe
  21. Actually, I doubt that the OP is asking for players, career or sandbox to do or give anything. He's asking devs for an alteration to sandbox mode that, as I see it, will have no effect on career players and will add options to sandbox play style
  22. Since I started back in 0.16 I loaded up each version from there forward and checked. in 0.21 Alt+F9 shows a list of quicksaves to choose from but Alt+F5 only quicksaves normally, no option to save as.
  23. getting the ARM-1 ship on a course that will allow it to intercept a class E asteroid well before it enters the Kerbin sphere of influence. I'm also handling the departure of an unmanned science ship to the Jool system.
  24. More than that, it's probably one of the hundreds (thousands perhaps) of what I call "copyright bots" that make claims on all manner of videos. I cant speak for others but I *always* dispute copyright claims and while some of those trolls can be painfully slow about it, the claims always end up being released.
  25. enough for 1.6528925619834710743801652892562 trips through time @ 1.21 gigawatts per trip
