  1. if it is a poor ascent engine, poor jet engine and a poor orbital engine, what is it really good for? if it had the power that other engines of the size lacked you could do a better ascent, but right now it is underpowered. it was meant to be the jack of all trades, but when you can bring multiple specialists it needs to be moderatly ok at something, it is now the jack of nothing. you dont have to ditch a set of jet engines to keep mass down to make an ssto, so it has that going for it.
  2. we have the irc chat if anyone wants to chat a tad.
  3. this is an international waiting game.
  4. it would also help with introducing new players that might no be familiar with the orbital direction of objects like the mun and sutch.
  5. we always wanted war in some sense, there is a reason some of the most popular ksp vids since the beginning has been featuring weapons of war or even actual combat.
  6. he had it in the beginning and "lost" it when dreaming.
  7. i imagine they would cancel out gravity by harnessing the vehicle up with strings like they did when they tested space suits for apollo and during the testing of the moon rover. some of the testing was done sideways, but we can do it horizontally and with rockets allowed.
  8. and why in suggestions and development?
  9. also notice the abundance of trees and the lack of animals. my theory is that the kerbal space program is the main suply of co2 for the plant life on kerbin thrugh srb's and thrugh production of rockets.
  10. what pollution are we talking about? LFO doesent emit anything really, monopropellant doesent leak in ksp, we dont have spills if we crash and the co2 from an srb is negligible in comparison to the coal plants and cars we have. the eco system on kerbin can sustain our little space program.
  11. agreed, also the ability to keep flags deselected so i can not see all my flags everytime i open the tracking station.
  12. i feel the people who are against this either dident read the idea or want career to be sandbox... career should restrict you in some ways, you should have to be ready for a mission before you embark on it. suddenly there is a reason to have contingency plans. time has value, especially when you have a dead capsule on a free return with broken parachutes. if you want a slightly realistic space sim you cant have a train of spaceships going to the mun.
  13. we aleredy have lagrange points, almost infinite in fact. every point on the same orbit as the mun outside of the muns SOI is stationary relative to the mun. i have almost complete coverage of the mun from the lagrange ponts just outside of the SOI (remote tech 2).
  14. infinite action groups bound to your button of choice would be nice too.
  15. A lot of science requires so many repetitions to generate reliable results that it takes quite a bit of time, some you have to find first. This is stuff that we for gameplay reasons can call science over time. If an experiment takes a few days to complete, i would go and launch other stuff... The way it is done now makes it so you never need bases or stations. If the long duration experiments require suplies and extra equipment to work you would have to service, resupply, expand and recrew every once in a while.
  16. Fyi, the star kerbin orbits is oficially called sol, so it is in fact solar winds.
  17. the engines should be able to run in "dumb" mode where it runs like now and in "stabilized" mode where the engines throttle to keep the center of thrust exactly thrugh the center of mass first by gimballing and if that is insuficient throteling.
  18. they probbably shouldent die, they would just be slow and unable to do experiments and such. the only way a kerbal can die for now is if it impacts anything, there is no evidence they need anything in terms of life support or that they are chemically reactive in any way... for all we know they are made from gold and noble gasses.
  19. if i remember correctly they said that the eva jetpack is going to be reserched. we will start without packs, then the ladders have meaning.
  20. Why would it collapse? Afak very little is dependent on the speed of light. You would observe things earlier and feel sforces faster than now, but the forces would stay the same. I might be massively wrong though.
  21. It could serve as a way to implement gear into ksp, all kerbals can use ladders. If they equip boots they can walk anywere. The eva pack we all know and love. A letpack is more like a lander than an eva pack, it only provides gimballing downward thrust. Rocket boots give you an extreme boost with extremely limited fuel so you can get up to your ladder or (if you are skilled) save jeb from becomming a blob on the surface of kerbin. Just some ideas... TL;DR krebal equipment pl0x.
