  1. they probbably shouldent die, they would just be slow and unable to do experiments and such. the only way a kerbal can die for now is if it impacts anything, there is no evidence they need anything in terms of life support or that they are chemically reactive in any way... for all we know they are made from gold and noble gasses.
  2. is it just me or is the devnote tuesdays the only part of the daily kerbal that has kept the quality from the weekly?
  3. if i remember correctly they said that the eva jetpack is going to be reserched. we will start without packs, then the ladders have meaning.
  4. Why would it collapse? Afak very little is dependent on the speed of light. You would observe things earlier and feel sforces faster than now, but the forces would stay the same. I might be massively wrong though.
  5. It could serve as a way to implement gear into ksp, all kerbals can use ladders. If they equip boots they can walk anywere. The eva pack we all know and love. A letpack is more like a lander than an eva pack, it only provides gimballing downward thrust. Rocket boots give you an extreme boost with extremely limited fuel so you can get up to your ladder or (if you are skilled) save jeb from becomming a blob on the surface of kerbin. Just some ideas... TL;DR krebal equipment pl0x.
  6. Use the little fuel you have to re enter and land that sucker, Rename the ship and make it the first manned comunications satellite around jool Or send a rescue craft and save him, the choice is yours.
  7. Finally a reason to have huge solar arrays, give us more power hungry stuff yiiiis.
  8. If i put t a lump of steel with large solar panels on it in a geostationary orbit, when, if ever, will it reenter the atmosphere. Are we talking in the order of thousands of years here? Millions? We all know LEO objects orbits degrade relatively fast and require regular boosts to stay up, however atmosphere isn't a problem for geostationary craft, will solar winds and the moons gravity be enough to destabilize an orbit enough for it to reenter?
  9. If you launch your asat weapon, say, a few dozen bricks with orbital manouvering capabilities, AGAINST the rotation of the earth. When the satelites connect with your orbital wall, could the loss of velocity be enough to make a satelite re enter? How far up, if anywhere, could you do this? What posibilities are there to forcibly decomission geostationary satelites without the debris staying in orbit?
  10. I dont know of anyone who doesent want orbital contruction in some way. Some want unpacking. Rates of prebuilt craft, some want something like KAS and i want a VAB view where you build with parts you brought with you in storage crates. Many possibilities, all and every one is better than none.
  11. Whats with the backward spanish? Why cant it just be like the sims or spore where there is just language sounding sounds. I imagine kerbals speaking like the minions from despicable me.
  12. i see most people here are in support of some form of autopilot. i cant remmember anyone saying it would definitly not happen. why then is it in the list of things confirmed to never be in the game?
  13. i just read thrugh the planned features page, on the bottom it says what wont be added, i saw one thing that suprised me. most make sense, but i vaguely recall harvey saying he wanted kerbals to be able to fly and your space empire to be able to function without the player doing every mission. have i missed something here or do kerbals piloting not count as autopilots? FYI harvesters thoughts were at least a year old, things might have changed.
  14. i think the idea is that limiting a mission to say duna will let you gather more science on duna compared to doing a flyby and going to eve as well. there is a delta v cost associated with going into an orbit, there is a cost of delta v in taking a kerbal to the surface. every one of these steps have delta v costs and increesing science output by 20% or something seems apropriate. you could ofcource timewarp, but you could also go do something else like launching a return stage or something to your interplanetary cruiser or something. the other option is that to get the 20% extra science from some of the landed exsperiments you have to actually do stuff, like getting surface samples, random rocks and such and throwing them into the goo canister, or in orbit where you have to change inclinations and altitudes to get different measurments from the gravity detector. there are multiple ways to do this, some require you to do stuff, some dont and let you go back to the space center and have the kerbals do their job collecting science.
  15. A lab version of the hitchhiker capsule basically... Add some weight so you wont just use it for ecerything.
  16. to keep the player from simply warping to infinite reserch you could have a halflife on the science income from a station so you would have to maintain it once in a while for it to stay effective.
  17. how about a station being more like a platform to do science on? you bring experiments up and recieve some science for it over a few kerbin days. you unlock more experiments as you progress thrugh the game. this makes a station useful as you can launch experiments to it as you unlock them. to encurage large stations you would get more science fore each scientist and each science module there (with less extra science for each one, but never zero). long term science is not the main source of science, more like an aditional source that needs some maintaince to keep on rolling.
  18. difficulty levels would be nice, also money, station parts, more kerbX parts and a fuelcell (for electricity in the beginning.)
  19. kerbal engineer KAC KAS (or something resembeling it) procedural tanks procedural fairings
  20. just have the model be the antennae with a gravioli science thing on the end. you hit an accelerometer or barometer around.
  21. i have had rockets pick up rotation for no reason, when i'm turning it seems to like some spin.
  22. links? it makes it easier for those that dont aleready know.
