True story! I went over to the challenges forum to maybe get some new goals in mind. I read through a couple then laughed and went back to General KSP Discussion. All the ones I looked at were entirely too advanced. Hopefully somewhere down the line there will be some official challenge stuff in the game A.K.A. achievements, trophies, stuff like that.

Resources and career mode! Sandbox is great, sometimes I like to have set goals. I have the Kethane mod but official support would make life a bit easier.

While that custom controller would be pretty cool, I would argue that it doesn't convert the game into... anything. It's just a different input. Cool article though!

I think your GPU should be good, I have a GTX 550TI and it runs amazing with settings all the way up. From what I can tell almost everything you have should outperform my computer LOL. I have a Phenom II 955 3.2GHz, overclocked to 3.8, 12GB ram and definitely not an SSD.

In order to save my dignity and the lives of many Kerbals, I've signed a treaty with them to never attempt anything past the Mun again. At least until I can do that proficiently!

It takes me hours to get something built that can fly where I want it to go (and another few to get it there), so I usually take the precaution of closing my panels.

I haven't done it, but it looks like a pretty good idea! Maybe a model rocket or first lander on the Mun would also work.
