  2. Would it be possible to include some sort of small visual cue/initial sound for when you\'re on your last RCS/Fuel tank, please? Maybe even It\'s a feature I requested directly to Harv and I think I got a response but it\'ll take a fair ole\' lump of time.

    Bombing Run

    Tried it many a time. Only had hits a few times, and they were on the Launch Tower because it has a purple attitude indicator on the navball. Level bombing is a real pain and doing it ingame gives me an appreciation for how accurately the real air forces did it before computers. I usually dive-bomb, but that has its own dangers because pulling up in the lagspike for loading up the craft you\'re bombing can cause backflips or no response at all.
  5. I\'m very well aware of C7 and I reckon I have 50 .crafts that are based around it... but it still doesn\'t include lift-reducing, drag-increasing parts right now that can help you do a flared landing.
  6. Is that even possible? I thought the lack of spoilers and flaps and airbrakes etc. made it hard to build planes that can land while flared and still fly forwards at a reasonable angle of attack with its lift/weight.
  7. I did try, sometimes indirectly, but I\'ve been totally unsuccessful. Although I did get my first sighting of the core of Kerbin that day!
  8. I did multiple double-takes when I saw him! ...RIP Merman. He was unfortunate enough to appear during a testing phase for under-hull engines. Backflips ensued until his crew was brutally murdered by Zn1337666.
  9. I don\'t have a picture, but a few days ago I was testing tanks and I launched so many different flights that the world around the KSC terrain disappeared. As soon as I left the launchpad ramp, the rovers-with-guns fell through the ground and got smushed in the sea below. Weirdness.
  10. Nice! Welcome to the club. As you can tell, I\'m probably more fond of planes than spacecraft in this game. Crazy, considering it\'s Kerbal SPACE Program. One suggestion, though... a vertical stabiliser of some sort is definitely a good idea on any plane, especially as they get bigger. Not sure why, haven\'t forgotten to put one on for a long time, but it\'s just a good plan.

  12. I feel fantastic! I finally designed a ship that could deliver a (pseudo) spaceplane to the KSC^2! Granted, it was a Vanguard, and MechJeb helped, but I was having an awful lot of trouble designing a ship that could get there. Has anyone got a .craft for a proper spaceplane carrier that\'s reached it?
  13. Is there a way to bind non-letter/number keys to do things? It\'s a nightmare having such a limited selection of keys to bind.
  14. Hey guys, I\'m interested in getting into the Flight Sim scene but I really don\'t know where to start. Is it possible to get a simulator, good aircraft packs (if necessary) and a setup (joystick and throttle preferably) on a budget of £70-£80? Also, what would you recommend as a first time sim? I have a fair amount of knowledge about flying aircraft and can fly and land in KSP but my flight sim adventures in the E-3D and C-130E at Air Cadets have been... rather exciting... because I seem to have a physical block against landing large aircraft safely.
  15. Damn, for a second there I was very excited =P. I have the railgun but running out of ammo so fast is a pain, especially when the shorter ammo tends to glitch through stuff. And it screws with your CoG on tank-type vehicles.
  16. Nice! One question though, are those \'charged\' parts the railguns? If so, is that version available to the public? Or have you got Particle Guns on there...?
  17. I just downloaded this and I must say the ability to make movable turrets is particularly awesome for me. However I currently have one problem. If you attach the \'top\' (small end) of a rotatron to a part, then try to attach, say, a truck to the bottom of it, it flips upside down. Another little thing I\'ve noticed, the rotatron seems to have difficulty mounting opposite another rotatron in 2x symmetry on a cylindrical part.

    Ace of Spades!

    Well I think one time I played for about half an hour, max... back in very early Alpha. But you\'re lucky. As I said, I get it constantly. The game is unplayable. What\'s hilarious is that my Acer Aspire One can\'t handle Minecraft on everything lowest, but it runs AoS infinitely better than on my Win7 PC. I\'d say running at all compared to not running is infinitely better, right?

    For the minutes I have played AoS, it\'s been awesome. However I have a problem with the game and have had since the early development, which when I ask on the forum for the game I just get ignored, as do all the other people with the issue: It started with the early versions when I would join a game and any time from 1-10 minutes later I would get a freeze, sometimes with the message \'error: server disconnect or kick: also check latest game version.\' At some point in my many desperate updatings and uninstallations every time the game was updated, the error stopped appearing, but the game still freezes and CTDs every 30s - 5 minutes. The worst part is, this game is just perfect for me. Minecraft with guns. And no stupid perks crap or SOFLAMs! Can anyone please help me with this bug? (desperately hopes someone has had the same problem) D:
  20. I used two RCS tanks, 8 or 12 (can\'t remember, probably 12) RCS blocks and the NP unmanned pod for my first two landings, which were within 8km of each other without any autopilot. Pure fluke with a side helping of orbital mechanics knowledge. I suppose if you\'re interested in landing rather than Kerbal preservation, the stock Mk1 pod without a parachute or decoupler would do fine. Slightly more sketchy but ok.
  21. Yeah, un-piloted craft more than ~2000 metres away that are in motion are deleted when in atmosphere. It really ruined the effect of the long-range bombers and truck-based missile launchers I built recently using the modular missiles.

Problem is, the incomplete stalling model at the moment makes it very difficult to get anything but a diving (dangerous) type descent because once you\'ve burned off some fuel, most aircraft become almost lighter than air. I can only land one of my aircraft without diving until a second before landing then cutting the throttle. If I flare during the landing, I just go up again, even at the lowest feasible velocity of the craft...

All these careful-landing craft with rockets offset around the Bigtrak are cool, but I\'ve realised that one way to land this thing is to cancel most of the vertical velocity with an engine below the vehicle, thrust to the side slightly, angle your wheels prograde, and land kind of like a spaceplane without wings. As long as you keep your speed at least below ~50m/s, the Bigtrak will be fine. This eliminates the need for complex landers, since not even the descent stage needs to survive.
