  1. 318 days? They are going to Jool!? I thought they are going home...
  2. Just a question, is the latest available? Other than build 1?
  3. Off-topic: Which water is better? Light water (H2O, DHMO, or H12O --- I'm not kidding about the 1.) or heavy water (Deuterium Oxide, D2O or H22O --- I'm not kidding about the extra 2.)? Also, I might setting a poll to test people's stupidity. Maybe not.
  4. OK, since I've never landed on Duna nor Ike (Ike is Dwight D. Eisenhower's nickname, why chose that?), I've decided to land probes and rovers to there. Chronological order of the story might be changed.
  5. We are actually talking about how exaggeration (and other factors) may lead to public misunderstanding.
  6. Agreed. We are very dependent and that we must be watched at all time.
  7. Congress would disagree (along with Obama possibly) when a new amendment would be proposed to repeal the First Amendment. (Possible outcome: Not passed by either House of the Congress, or if got through Congress... not getting a 3/4 state majority.) That might be pulled to the next election year (2016), when Democrats would possibly nominate a female presidential candidate (If the candidate does become president, then his husband would become the First Gentleman.), then much would be decided. Also, somewhat less recent events in some people having a petition to build a Death Star (looks like the one in Star Wars), but Obama does not support blowing up the planet.
  8. We ended up talking about people's ignorance to chemistry and grammar now. A word can, indeed, change the meaning of the sentence, sometimes a lot more. In this case, missing the word "some" or "most" had made people think that all monoxides are dangerous. Yes, Carbon Monoxide is dangerous, but just that monoxide is dangerous doesn't mean all monoxides are. I guess the reason why IUPAC didn't mentioned this compound (water, H2O) in scientific name (Dihydrogen Monoxide, DHMO) on public is to prevent public confusion.
  9. *Face Palm* To above post: Kerbol. When I say Z?
  10. True story. Hydrogen Peroxide is more dangerous than H2O. This thread is going into the Off-Topic lounge.
  11. Cause of death: Water poisoning. While H2O can be unsafe, tainted water (contaminated water) is a real danger. I guess that's what the anti-water activists are talking about.
  12. Detonate. When I say X? (A word, please. XYZ Coordinates is not a word.)
  13. Going to Eeloo is kind of like going to Pluto, except you could just have a gravity assist from Jool to Eeloo, while New Horizons has to take several gravity assists. Still (for New Horizons), launching directly into escape orbit is an achievement. (You thought going to Eeloo is hard, but going to Pluto would be a combination of difficulty and time.)
  14. I'll see if MFS is a dependency... I'm working on the wheels, however. Back to the drawing board...
  15. Yup. But it is still scary (and funny) to think those things...
  16. Free of atoms? *shiver...* Imagine space with only dark matter... or even... nothing... Anyway, we contains atom, being free of atoms means free of everything but dark matter. Why? Because almost everything (except the so-called dark matter) wouldn't exist, which means the universe won't exist because of that! To everyone: ignore those "scientists", they performed poor science. Yes, science can be done poorly.
  17. Well, it didn't work. I was thinking about establishing a gasoline-to-power-wheel system...
  18. "Leaving some details out and having the key things in" is what those anti-DHMO (anti-water) people are doing now. They start a petition that states bad things about water and leave good things out. In case if they passed the petition, start storing water. Just kidding, many have been marked as hoaxes and are rejected.
  19. Why did they buy the same pie? Because they have the fear of contaminated pie from the restaurants?
