As far as I can remember the forum crash wiped out almost all accounts created from around mid October 2012 to April 2013. edit: For anyone interested I had a look and the last account created before the wipe was jeroenhoi98 on the 19th of October 2012. The first account created after the wipe was Arestris on the 18th April 2013.

View contracts while constructing
Pursuedtank replied to dwleger's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
As far as I can recall you can see your available contracts by clicking on one of the buttons to the bottom right of the screen in both the VAB and the SPH. -
I believe it was reverted to some point in early October the previous year, so around 6-7 months of data was lost.

Airplane doesnt fly well
Pursuedtank replied to Jetsim's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
That isn't so much an airplane, as it is a monstrosity. Is that all to get one Kerbal into space? If so then that is way to big. Follow Pecan's advice for airplanes, however the problem that you have with not lifting before the end of the runway can be fixed by moving the landing gear to just behind the centre of lift. -
You may struggle to find the Magic Boulder in any of these releases, on account of it not being introduced until at least 0.17, when the rest of the planets were released.

It comes with ARM.

Same TARDIS, different time rotor colour. Does anyone else not hear the a in "am I a good man". Every time I hear it it sounds like he says "Am I good man".

Which is the best Space Shuttle?
Pursuedtank replied to ZooNamedGames's topic in Science & Spaceflight
You know I really did like Endeavour, but as that doesn't seem to be an option I will have to go with Atlantis. -
Is it just me, or is Unity 5 going to be AMAZING for KSP?
Pursuedtank replied to StarManta's topic in KSP1 Discussion
HarvestR's dev note from June 25th. -
It came from the recent dev blog and we'll be told what it is about soon.

I agree that once you know what you are looking for it is easy to find, however the amount of information on that page is significant and on a first look through you might miss the download link, or confuse it with the download for something else.
-
I agree that it is reasonably unclear. To download the number 4 essential mod you need to make sure you have downloaded all the essential mods on that page, then scroll down to the first picture you see. There should be a download link directly below the picture.
-
In general quite a lot of mods will release new updates soon after a new update is released. Each mod responds differently to a new update, some won't work and some will be fine. However it is likely you will have to reinstall a significant number of mods.

2 cool observations I just made on the forums
Pursuedtank replied to Clockwork13's topic in Kerbal Network
Surely the second point just proves that the detection system for spammers is good, in that it doesn't allow them access in the first place, rather than retrospectively banning them. -
Able to lock quicksaving
Pursuedtank replied to Clockwork13's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
What you can do is start a new save, then open your persistence file. After this an option near the top underneath the flight line should say CanQuickSave = True. Change the True to False and do the same with the next line down. This should disable quicksave/quickload.
