  1. No mods, though I will probably install all of the plane related mods I can find. I may have jumped the gun in complaining though as I've only had three test flights on this latest version. I'll report back on it. I'm glad to see I've inspired a challenge thread I think. Good luck all!
  2. I try to fly as high as possible, usually between 20-26,000 meters. I admit I just installed .19.1 today and haven't tested it all that thoroughly yet. I just wanted to see what others have been up to in regards to circumnavigation.
  3. Lately, I like to build planes that are capable of flights around the entirety of Kerbin. I'm talking jets here, not space planes. I had an easy time of this in 19.0, but am having a bit of difficulty with it in 19.1. Before, I'd average a speed of about 1500m/s and would complete the trip in about 45 minutes. Now with the current version I am running out of fuel mid way through with similar designs I've used in the past. I know its a bit of bore, but do any of you do this? What designs do you use and what is your average speed and time?
  4. Wow! His first rocket turned out great! Far better than mine was for sure.
  5. He's going back to where he first lost Wolfie and continuing on from there, I think.
  6. He does do great videos and has a great voice for commentary. I love the intro he came up with for this series.
  7. Just use MechJeb until you're better at it is all.
  8. First hard lesson I learned was to always have a decoupler under your pod and parachute, rather than under that and your RCS tank, final stage rocket and landing gear. Stupid I know, but I was rushing to launch my first time around.
  9. Definitely a Saturn type planet and perhaps ones with alien life forms other than Kerbans.
  10. I know where to find them. I just figured I'd inquire as to what the most popular ones are, as they are the most popular for good reason usually.
  11. Your videos rule and so does your father. The last video I saw though, he seemed to be itching to build a vertical rocket. Let him have at it!
  12. Wow! Thanks to all who have posted and to the modders that make these wonderful things. I was up all night launching mapping satellites, then rovers, and then Kerbals! Great stuff.
  13. Mods add a lot of extra game play we'd otherwise lack. Not that KSP isn't great on its own, its just still being fleshed out and developed. In the mean time, I'll be having great fun launching satellites, rovers, massive rockets and building space stations.
  14. What would all of you fine Kerbanauts define as must have mods for KSP? Perhaps we can comprise a list. I myself am looking for sustainable energy, rovers, stations, functional satellites, and many other great things. I wish I knew a bit about modding. I'd like to see ground and orbital telescopes that can provide images and various other information about the celestial bodies in KSP. What do you all think? What are the top mods for KSP that are worth looking in to?
  15. Thank you. So far, I'm pretty good at getting into orbit and circularizing unassisted. I can also inject myself to to the Mun and Minmus. I generally only use MechJeb for landings. I have yet to try for the new planets and moons and I've noticed MechJeb doesn't have the new stuff on its transfer list yet, or am I missing an update? My understanding of astrophysics is extremely limited, if any, and MechJeb helps me learn the angles and burn times to get to new places.
  16. Hello all. I'm new to the forums, but have had the game for a couple of months now. I just wanted to post here, my appreciation to the very small dev team of this gem of a game. I have been plugging this game on the Steam forums whenever possible without spamming. You can credit my purchase to KurtJMac of Youtube, whose videos prompted me to buy it. To those who haven't seen his KSP series, I'd highly recommend looking into it is as well as Scott Manley's videos. I've been having a literal blast with this game. I hope to become skilled enough one day to lose my training wheels (MechJeb) and explore the cosmos which has been greatly expanded in the latest patch. I thank you for this wonderful game and look forward to its future. It is truly the best 18 bucks I've ever spent.
