You're considering a Thunderbird 2? Awesome. Classic 1960's marionette version (My favorite one, I have somewhere 2 of the metal toy Thunderbird 2's with the mini Thunderbird 4) or the one from the not-so-great 2004 live action film? I know it isn't exactly a recent part, but do you have any helpful suggestions for lanching a vessel with a DEMV payload equipped with your DEMV quadcoupler? I'd be using the DEMV Mk II if that makes any difference.

[1.0.2] NovaPunch 2.09. - May 6th - 1.0 Compatibility Update
shadowsutekh replied to Tiberion's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I'm curious, any teasers for what's in store? If you'd rather not tell, that's fine! -
Those look great, it's nice to see you're making good progress with it. It would probably be better to get the original thread's title updated instead of starting a new one just so theres a constant archive of what has been worked on, requested, suggested, abandoned, ect. Also so people don't split posts between the two. But yeah, nice job!

LLL - Lack Luster Labs - Development Thread

Better than that wet tissue piece of trash Hammerhead... -
@Andellmere you're right There are vertical thrusters on all the engine pods both front and back. Two on each rotatable front wings, and one on each of the rear engine pods, which by the way, also move. The design changed slightly with the Pelican in H4 With the addition of angled thrusters on the ventral fuselage Though to be honest I think the H4 Pelican looks and handles like a space whale. Not that they were ever fast in the flyable ones in Halo: Custom Edition on Coldsnap or Huge[rear]. *sigh* I miss the version from H3. It was pretty. H3's D77H-TCI_Pelican vs the D79-TC Pelican from H4 Yes, I am that much of a sci-fi dork to know the difference between the various models and then take the time to look them up.

So that's iswhat it is for. I had assumed that the first 2 buttons were for each panel to move and lock into the open position while the last one was orientation. Thanks for clarification! -
[0.22.X] BobCat ind. Historical spacecraft thread
shadowsutekh replied to BobCat's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
BobCat, you're awesome! I cannot wait for the Orion pod to be released. I was very sad when I saw the pictures of the outdated incompatible Ceres version from KW. -
Little thought about hiring modders in the dev team
shadowsutekh replied to Netris's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Just want to point on that on page 83 of bac9's mod release thread, he said that though he is swamped by work, he has no present plans to abandon the mod and two more people are involved now. Additionally he said that he wasn't ordered by squad to kill it, so he'll work on it as he has time or feels like it. -

Nice! are those inflatable parts yours? I assume so due to the similar color scheme, also endcaps. What are the uniformly white, textured 2x1 parts? structural or...? -
BobCat Ind. - Colonization, exploring and research vehicle
shadowsutekh replied to BobCat's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
The only issue I have with the Jool V is the fact that the second stage engine appears in the parts list covered by the engine shroud. It is just a minor bug, but I felt it was worth mention. -
What is your favourite sci-fi/irl spacecraft, and why?
shadowsutekh replied to Asmosdeus's topic in The Lounge
I have 3... Am I allowed to have 3? U.S.S. Daedalus Atlantis Destiny Hardly surprising though considering my forum avatar, and my sig says "To the stars through the Stargate" To be fair though Galactica is an awesome ship. Outlasting every other known Battlestar despite possessing non-networked antiquated computers, hardline internal coms, being old, partially decommissioned, surviving uncontrolled re-entry (by a vessel never meant to enter atmosphere), and a nuke. I didn't include an image of the UNSC Infinity though that ship is also cool beyond reason, especially since I've followed the franchise and read most of the books, so the advance of human tech to the point a human ship can exit slipspace and plow through a completely shielded Covenant Battlecruiser with nothing but a shield flare. -
While not stock, and I don't have a link handy, there is a mod that does just that, and it's out currently.

It's just a thought, if it doesn't look right, than no problem. Does it look weird because the difference in diameter between IV and V is 2m? Cause that could probably be remedied by a taller interstage decoupler so it doesn't go instantly from 4 to 2, but rather it's long enough to see the transition between 4-3-2. The payload decoupler wouldn't be an issue because there are already multiple parts for multiple diameters. So this question is strictly limited to interstage.

Don't do that on OSX. Bad idea right there...bye bye KSP if you do that... -

Go into the "parts" folder in the download select all the folders inside then drag them into the "parts" folder in KSP. Go into the "internals" folder in the download then the spaces folder select all the folders inside "spaces" then drag them into the "spaces" folder which is a subfolder of "internals" in KSP. Then that's it, you're done. As there are no plugin components. Just internals and parts. Start KSP after installing and enjoy playing with cBBp's awesome parts! -
Have you ever thought of making decouplers for interactions between the IV and V systems? I think that would be cool to do.

The New Bobcat Colonization Challenge
shadowsutekh replied to SkyRender's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
So I know this is a BobCat labeled challenge, but you may want to consider modifying it to allow some of the Lack Luster Labs components for structures that offer an additional bonus or something. Especially the module that has the animated legs. Maybe not counted as living modules (they lack an obvious greenhouse unless you use that dome component named "green house"). But perhaps as something like a colony's "Colony Hall" or "SCIENCE" building. Just a suggestion to help spice things up a little if people need/want it. Not trying to say this thread is boring at all though! I just think a little variety in addition to the familiar white and yellow cylindrical structures could be cool. It also prevents an identical thread devoted to LLL stuff from potentially popping up as per Sal's recommendations in the sticky. Unless of course you wish to keep this as a company specific thread, in which case disregard the above text and only count the below I've found it quite enjoyable to see what everyone has come up with, and attempt to emulate myself though I haven't quite got the structure landing down yet, though I am getting better! -
Personally I like watching Scott Manley for his videos like the reusable space program. Though the youtuber who got me into KSP is Robbaz King of space, and head of Viking Aerospace Engineering.

@Fusty: Is it possible to have strobing lights? Red or white at the end, with green at the base of the light rails? Does the engine allow for multi-colored light strings? Would they be collapsible? Also would it be better to have the docking light strands have no colliders like struts? Or entirely collidable? I forsee isssues with either through the nature of vessel design/unrealistic object interaction.

[WIP] KerbX - A SpaceX analogue for KSP
shadowsutekh replied to Borklund's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Alrighty, I'm sure I'll get around to attempting that work around eventually. However currently I'm just dealing with the fact that I've been up for over 24 hours straight with no sleep. I am what one might consider a little loopy right now as evidenced by my surprisingly compelling argument to my girlfriend about how Toy Story is related to the Original Star Wars Trilogy. Yes, that is how loopy I am right now. Finals are fun. -

I don't know how you feel about Firefly, but here's a little inspirational video that I feel is perfectly suited to the way I understand your stance right now.
