  1. Hmm... What has KSP thought me... Never to say yes to go on a one way trip to Mars. There would be no accelerated time, and I wouldn't be allowed to touch anything funny. And how a navball works! Clever little devicel do they work that way in real life?
  2. As mentioned earlier, getting the two ships lined up for docking is harder for me than the actual docking process. Kudos for those who has no problem with it it. And to OP, impressive launch! Nasa should copy it, haha.
  3. well, then either hyperedit, edit a fuel tank to have insane amount of fuel or an engine to have insane amount of thrust. Only way to avoid adding more parts as far as I know. Could even remove parts then
  4. Part generation won't matter as anything past 2 km isn't rendered. And don't tell me, that after setting up asparagus tanks and so on, that you don't got some free space to slap on free SRB's And is mainsail better than adding multiple engines? I use 9 engines under 1 orange tank.
  5. Well, I usually tend to stick SRB's everywhere. Saves a bit of fuel, gets me a bit higher. Or.... You could have a little fun... Start stacking beams underneath your ship, keep pushing your ship upwards as you add more and more beams. In the end your ship will be ready to launch, sitting in space, wobbling on a 70km ++ long beam stack. Do not forget a launch clap or something else to release your ship with. You do not want to carry around such a heavy tail, hehe.
  6. Power is fine, just wantes to park a spacestation in a sunny spot for RP. And to avoid that the Kerbalnauts who is afraid of the dark, freaks out. I thought it was such a simple thing to do, go the opposit way the planet spins, hence always remain in the sun. Simple thing to do when on land in a plane, but in space... In space you fall down to mother eart... kerbin
  7. Just to have asked the question, forgive me if it is silly. Have you figured out how the navball works? Before me and the navball understood eachothers, parts went flying everywhere. Now I can spend my time in the map mode and land only by using the navball. And do not trust the pesky MJ to ascend for you You'd think it would know that full throttle on the rocket would make it fall apart/overheat, but noooo. But it's quite useful for doing booring tasks, landing, making your orbit into a nice circle etc. Just don't give it control over things until you're in space, and have time to save the ship because MJ decided your ship needed to be blown to bits.
  8. Ah, well. I only let my station run alongside Kerbal for a little while, so I had no chance to observe what would happen after doing some circuts around the sun. I only assume that it would function the same way as a grammofone. Thank you all. Derek's suggestion sounds interesting, must try it out, right after I am done building this pure SRB Duna rocket. Aspargus, with SRB's
  9. Well, I wanted a spacestation in orbit around Kerbin, positioned so that it was always in the sun. I figured out how to do it in the end, but it kinda ruins my expectations and plans, so it's scrapped for now. For those who's curious, here's how to always hover above a planet while "always" remaining in the sun: Escape the planets (and the moon(s) gravity). Place yourself between the aforementioned planet and the sun, speed up until you go a bit faster than the planet (posting on cellphone, so formula etc won't be digged up now. But think of a grammofon disc. Inner layer goes faster round than the one on the outside, yet they complete a turn on the same time). Tada, always in the sun spot, too far away to be any useful for what I wanted to do
  10. So this is a bit harder than I though. No wonder all my tries has ended in failure. Why is it so hard to make a object gaze down at the beautiful Kerbin nature, always bathed in light? Geosynch is possible, why not "sunsynch"?
  11. Does anyone have the data on the altitude and speed required to always remain on the side of a planet where the sun always shine? Or could point me in a direction of a former post regarding this issue, formula or anything inbetween? D
  12. I once tried to launch away with a rover that I had driven into it for the occasion. At 60k meters it clipped through the "garage". Happened over and over again, regardless of what speed I had. Ended up with putting a docking port on the rover and rocket. Worked like a charm. So, yes. I think your eggs will clip through your rocket. But please tell how it went!
  13. back up files. Make/reload the craft, remove the piece. Put it on the lunch pad, quit, find craft in the persistent file, copy it all, replace the other craft with the new one in the persistent file.
