  1. I like the colors in KSP - they look like real spacecraft. I often add scaffolds, dishes and solar panels just for the looks Brightly colored parts would ruin all this. However - these artworks by Chris Foss are rather awesome
  2. Anyways - I got bored and after 20 minutes of tinkering I came up with this atmospheric version of a Space: Above and Beyond Hammerhead It does fly....but don't ask how...
  3. Well, it seems to me your problem is not math but math class How old are you by the way and what are you doing in math class atm? It took me years at university to get, that math itself is interesting. You can forget examples, skills that would help me in real life or common sense. Whats the real life application of playing an instrument or beeing able to draw? It's worthwile all by itself. Yeah, I know, this is hard to believe if you are forced to learn the stuff. Once you get to the math-books they use in universities, you will be longing for examples Math is basically the only field that can proof everything that is claims - and they do, believe me. By the way - if you realy want a career in space science - you WILL need all this stuff later in life
  4. I would be interested why the OP hates math...
  5. Also, I like the Lazor Docking Cam Mod - it makes docking a bit easier, but not by cheating, it just gives you valuable infos and a good camera view. AND it think it adds to realism
  6. hm, I used to build a couple of light, easy to control spaceships with one dockingport each to lern docking. Used to be very hard - nowadays it's still annoying but completely manageble
  7. I used this thing: It's aspargus-stacked, although it would probably make almost no diffenrence if you build it with 6 outer engines instead of eight.
  8. We should send a ATV - it's pretty awesome technology
  9. Chernobyl - by FAR. In Chernobyl the actual core caught fire. A huge block of graphite (wich is basically a form of coal) filled with the fuel rods burns, throwing radioactive particles high into the atmosphere. This was far worse than fukushima...
  10. Well, If you are flying big stuff, that turns slowly while it drifts through the darkness.... Philip Glass
  11. seriously? you link a file in a folder on your Desktop?
  12. Well, alpha radiation is no problem - it's reach is about 10 cm under normal atmospheric conditions. So the problem would be your hot gasses - well, the desired altitude (if your assisted start is needed) would heavily depend on the actual size and shape of the engine.
  13. Well, I landed a several ton heavy rover on Duna - as the others allready said, drogue shutes are key. However I also used retro-rockets - they are useful for landing a heavy payload and to break your ship shortly before you main parashutes deploy fully, so it doesn't ge ripped apart.
  14. What do you mean, dead? It's been only three challenges...
  15. No, the Saturn V will (sadly) not come back - it's just way to old. I had hoped that they would devolope an equivalent to the F1 engine....but nope, stupid SRBs.... I love SRBs, but the F1 engine is the part of the Saturn V, that awed me the most...
  16. Alright, time for some german engineering Ze Fleddrmouse 2089 m/s highest speed achieved
  17. maybe you should mention what the goal is, not only the rules....
  18. Yeah, it would be cool, but we should spend the little money we get for space-exploration in exploring things we didn't brought there ourselves
