As long as Kerbin doesn't has The Kessler Syndrom...
-
I'm either making sure, potential debris doesn't achieve orbital velocity and falls back to the surface or, if the payload must be released on orbit, I manually deorbit the debris. When going to the outskirts of Kerbin orbits, I want to crash any debris into Mün/Minmus

I think the main reason, tanks are so heavy is, that it is assumed, they are filled with a substance similar to RP-1 and LO2, and since you have a fuel ratio of ~0.9/1.1 of two heavy substances, this makes the whole think a lot heavier, as if it would be filled with something like LH2/LO2, with LH2 being super-light and nearly needing no LO2. Therefore, the ISP of the engines is rather high for the fact they are burning RP-1 instead of the more efficient LH2. Maybe we'll get a new type of fuel by the time, we get minable resources and tweakables for stock-parts. SRB's are another story, in RL the SS-SRB has 80% more thrust than a F-1 engine, in KSP, the SRB has 80% less thrust then a Mainsail engine ...

SPACE STATIONS! Post your pictures here

That's a rather big chunk of metal, you brought into orbit there. -
Well, you got trolled Man, that's so hilarious.

The "Loki"-Program [KSPX] - Landing on new worlds
Spanier replied to Spanier's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Update: I now changed the rocket a bit, so it now splits the fairing in just 2 parts, what saves 0.8 t in total, but the fairing isn't perfectly flush anymore now. -
The "Loki"-Program [KSPX] - Landing on new worlds

Thanks, they would even work better, if Squad would fix the Structural Pylons, so you could activate them via an action group. If they do so, new unmanned stuff will come up And I was very surprised, how perfectly flush these structural panels fit together in a pattern of 12. -

The "Loki"-Program [KSPX] - Landing on new worlds
Spanier replied to Spanier's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
It's the KSPX mod from Claira Lyrae http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/0-18-4-kspx-parts-expansion/ The rockets theoratically could do without it, but it looks cooler, and gives the 3-segment tanks (I don't like the orange ones on rockets) Mani II needs the radial tanks from the mod too. -
The Loki - Program The "Loki"-Program is a Kerban initiative to savely transport Kerbals to distant celestial bodies. The program is based on its own expandable eponymous rocket family. All rockets feature multi-stage technology and suppress the advent of space-debris under correct usage. Loki I ver. 1.0.1 Album This rocket features a "Bifröst"-Capsule for Crew-Transport and a "Mani I"-Münar Lander. The third stage is used for the TMI-Burn. After leaving LKO, transposition, docking, and extraction can be conducted in retrograde position, so the KDS can be disposed on the Mün. The "Heimdallr"-Program - Crew Launch System
Spanier replied to Spanier's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Fixed a problem occuring on jettisoning the second stage on Heimdallr II and III. The second stage is now properly jettisoned. -

The "Heimdallr"-Program - Crew Launch System
Spanier replied to Spanier's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Puting linear RCS on the pod and therefor away from the tank (and the CoM) presumably increases its torque, I was inspired by the Gemini-Capsule. For optimal translation the capsule could need 2 more RCS-Blocks, but I didn't felt like this would be necessary. As soon as we get radial drogue-chutes, the capsule will get 2 of them. -
The "Heimdallr"-Program - Crew Launch System
Spanier replied to Spanier's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
As soon as we get live support I'll create a interplanetary cruise-vessel for this program. I'll reupload the Loki program within the next days. -
The Heimdallr - Program The "Heimdallr"-Program is a Kerban initiative to savely transport Kerbals into orbit and beyond. All rockets a capable of sending 3 Kerbals to various destinations in space. All rockets feature multi-stage technology and suppress the advent of space-debris under correct usage. The "Bifröst"-Capsule Download All crew is launched inside of an all-purpose, versatile Crew-Vehicle, the Bifröst Capsule. Heimdallr I ver. 1.1.1 A simple, 2-stage rocket for crew transfers into LKO. It consists out of a Bifröst-Capsule launched ontop of an "Ymir I" carrier rocket. The trouble with Tribbles ... I mean ... with Mechjeb ... or not
Spanier replied to Murchadh's topic in KSP1 Discussion
MechJeb is especially useful if you have a very short delta-V contingent. For my upcoming Heimdallr and Loki Programs, I also specify MechJeb ascent values as a point of reference. For instance, the energy cushion of Loki I will amount to to 40 m/s, if your ascent needs more delta-V, you won't reach the Mün.
