totm march 2020 So what song is stuck in your head today?
CatastrophicFailure replied to SmileyTRex's topic in The Lounge
The only version I’ll ever hear now is the one from Dungeon Keeper 2. And how I feel after the last few posts: -
@tater Looks like you were right about them needing that copy editor more than you knew. As usual, BO making it really hard to be a fan.

So then the question is, why are such roads still open to the public, and is that still in the public's best interest? IIRC, SpaceX owns all of those houses now, only people living there are SpaceXers. -

To say Google maps pix of the area are comically outdated is a comical understatement. They’re literally right in the middle of the production area: Not sure what to think on this one. One one hand, they are still technically public roads. OTOH, no one from the public would have any legitimate business driving on them at this point, including a certain busybody no-nothing environmental group out to stir up trouble for its own ends. -

Darn shame the whole “tracks” thing never got much, er, traction. Sigh... what could have been... And speaking of roads, right down this one comes the latest kerfuffle: -
No... no no you don’t want me here right now. You need an adult like @adsii1970... help me oni-wan kernobi, you’re me only hope

Just the latest design iteration, the rest of us are still catching up. Fits between the catch arms better that way. -

They’re scrapping even the tiles on SN17, they must have no real shortage of them. And it’s about to get… cooking… -

Hmm... really surprised they don’t try to reclaim the tiles, they must have no trouble with producing them in numbers then. -

Starships are ungainly and vulnerable... but also cheap (see: @tater's tank cost analysis) Blow the chomper payload door(s?) as soon as SS is subsonic, payload lands in separate, pressurized, guided containers, Starship crashes... potentially right into a nearby soft target, or not. "Payload" doesn't even have to be troops here to be effective, get the troops in some other way, use SS to land armor, supplies, etc. If you consider SS "expendable" in this way, there's plenty of options for actually getting material on the ground without all the SS-specific hoopla. -
You see, Ivan— Cannot see Ivan. Ivan is gone. Car very fast. Much shhhh. dogeski.
