  1. Jeb, Bill, and Bob all appear to be dead in my game with no sign of returning The randomly generated Kerbals seem to come back though. Harkin Kerman, the first Kerbal to walk on the moon keeps coming back after multiple deaths.
  2. I believe the heat effects of atmospheric re-entry are going to be added in at some point, so it won't always be as harmless as it is now. That said I doubt it will be as dangerous as in real life. Re-entry maneuvers can be quite complicated, with changes in altitude, rotations, etc. to relieve the heatload on any given part of a craft.
  3. I agree with the above post. with my first probe to Duna I just winged it. Got it into LKO, then started playing with the map nodes until I got a flight path that would get me into an intercept with Duna. Timing was terrible and it took something like 200 days to get there, but it worked. Also turned out my probe didn't have enough fuel for a return trip home but that was ok for a first time. i got it to Duna, landed it, took off again and now it will orbit Duna forever. I learned a lot from that.
  4. I only got into the game about a month ago and have been reluctant to try mechjeb as it did sorta look like cheating and I wanted to learn the basics on my own, which I did. One advanced maneuver that I learned how to do but find incredibly tedious, is docking. I’ve done it dozens of times now, but I find I seldom have the patience for it anymore and find myself cutting corners. Last night that resulted in me crashing a fuel ship into my space station, tearing apart 2 solar panel arrays in the process. It was after that I decided to give mechjeb a try.
  5. Wow, that is really cool. Hats off to those guys!
  6. I don't miss the shuttles themselves, but I do miss having the capability of manned spaceflight and it's unfortunate that lack of planning and foresight (I blame this more on politicians than NASA) has led to the gap we are in.
  7. Ahhh, I had no idea you could rotate parts like that. That definitely makes my life much easier, not only for this but for many other spacecrafts I've built!! Thank you!
  8. So I've been trying to build my first space station and one part I would like to use is the multipoint connector so I can dock multiple ships and potentially add to the station at a later date. I don't have any trouble connecting docking ports to the top and bottom of the object, but when I try to add a docking port to any of the 4 ports on the side of the object it won't work and won't let me connect anything. Is there a trick to this? Not sure if I'm missing something, if it's a bug, or just really finicky. Help is appreciated.
