FusTek Outpost Challenge.

I'm working on one of those right now. It makes for a good excuse to use the gigantic rover wheels. -
FusTek Outpost Challenge.

Well, the idea is that in order to count as a valid outpost it must not be located on the surface of Kerbin. -
FusTek Outpost Challenge.
hawkinator replied to hawkinator's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
This is what I have built so far, Scoring: Established Kerbin Space Station: 10 points 3 habitable FusTek modules (1 node, 1 habitat, 1 science module, 1 utility module): 5 * 3 = 15 points 11 kerbals: 11 points Total: 36 points Of course, this is only the beginning. Looks cool, looking forward to seeing what you'll come up with. -
This challenge is for outposts (surface bases and space stations) built using the FusTek mod (found here). This is an architecture/building challenge, and as such points are awarded based on the grandiose nature of your world. As always, you will need to post screenshot and/or video proof of your accomplishments. Also, it would be greatly appreciated if you would post imgur albums rather than a huge wall of screenshots. So, here's how the scoring will work, The following points will be awarded for establishing each outpost in each specified SOI. Kerbin Space Station: 10 points Mun Space Station: 15 points, Base: 20 points Minmus Space Station: 20 points, Base: 25 points Duna Space Station: 30 points, Base: 40 points Ike Space Station: 35 points, Base: 40 points Eve Space Station: 30 points, Base: 45 points Gilly Space Station: 35 points, Base: 40 points Dres Space Station: 40 points, Base: 45 points Jool Space Station: 45 points, Base: 65 points Laythe Space Station: 50 points, Base: 60 points Vall Space Station: 50 points, Base: 55 points Tylo Space Station: 50 points, Base: 65 points Bop Space Station: 50 points, Base: 55 points Pol Space Station: 50 points, Base: 55 points Eeloo Space Station: 55 points, Base: 60 points Moho Space Station: 60 points, Base: 65 points The following points are awarded for features in each individual outpost. 5 points per habitable fustek module (node, habitation module, science module, etc.) Airlocks and kupolas dont count. 2 points for each additional airlock. (At least one airlock is required. The legacy airlock may not be used on bases.) 2 points per kupola. 1 point per kerbal (housed appropriately, not in an airlock or kupola.) 5 points per unmanned visiting vehicle. (stations) 10 points per manned visiting vehicle. (stations). Visiting vehicles must have some function. 10 points per unmanned support rover (or rover with external seats) +5 points if the rover can dock with your base 15 points per manned support rover (must have at least one capsule) +5 points if it can dock with your base. 20 points per base with kethane mining equipment. 25 points per station with kethane processing equipment. (you don't get any points for having kethane processing equipment at your base) 20 points per outpost with the ability to launch new ships. (extraplanetary launchpads or orbital construction) 30 points per base/station from which kerbals can be returned home to Kerbin The following points are awarded to the entire entry. 10 points per SOI if every outpost in your save has a way of sending kerbals home. (ie, 10 points if all you have is a kerbin space station, 160 points if you have outposts in every SOI) 5 points per SOI for using a life support mod. 5 points per SOI for having an unbroken remotetech link to Kerbin 10 points for no mechjeb 100 points for establishing an outpost in every SOI Other Rules: An outpost must house at least two kerbals and consist of at least two fustek modules docked together. It must have an airlock, a solar array, and an antennae (for beaming back the science!). For bases, I will consider them docked together if they are <15 meters apart and connected with a KAS line. However, if they are connected in this manner, each module must have its own airlock. Support rovers must be able to dock to a docking node to get the dockable bonus. All reasonably well balanced mods are ok. This includes modifying the FusTek modules to include things that make sense (like a kethane converter, for example. This would be a logical thing to have inside a science or utility module, and I would consider it ok to add it to the config file) Terms: Base = Surface installation, Station = Permanent orbital installation, Outpost = Generic term covering both bases and stations. Disclaimer: I am not in any way affiliated with the maker of the FusTek mod, or any other mods listed on this thread, except for the fact that I think their mods are pretty darn cool. I will be posting my own submission shortly. Leaderboard will be added here as soon as there is more than one entry.

Hooligan Labs Airships appears to be working properly -
umm, why not just leave it unplugged, if your trying to control with just the mouse and keyboard?

What is a forum for, if noobs cannot get answers to their noob questions so they can cease to be noobs? The same questions get answered over and over again, and that is fine. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. And remember, How hard can Rocket Science be, anyway?
-
boffinbox and brotoro are both right (sort of). Landing on Eve is easy as pie, just throw a few parachutes on it and it will be fine (kinda like landing on Kerbin, actually), Getting back, however, is a pain in the rocket nozzle. You need approximately twice as much rocket as you would need to lift off from Kerbin, plus, you have to get it to and landed on Eve first. (whereas kerbin liftoffs are the beginning of the mission.)

I have a fairly crappy machine I'm planning on improving and I would like some suggestions. First off, the specs: System: Dell Dimension C521 Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz Memory: 1024MB RAM Operating System: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE (Onboard video card) I just bought 2 gigs of ram for it (in the mail as of the creation of this post), what are some suggestions to do with it?

Granted, but the nuclear storm drive engines fail, causing the ship to fall out of the sky and annihilate the whole planet. (reference alert) I wish for a TARDIS.
-
False, I just got on and it's afternoon here. The next user lives in a place where it is afternoon right now.

Banned for having comic sans in sig.

False. (and I was referring to the system of measurement originally made popular by the British Empire and frequently used here in the USA. The one with all those funny feet, pounds, inches, yards, gallons, teaspoons, and miles) The next user has a realistic location displayed.

Banned for not recognizing a Roman Numeral reference.
-
True. The next user hates the Imperial system with a passion.

[ninja'd] False, I have never made a return trip from Tylo. True, I am very close to having landed on everything.
