  1. What about the typical four sided hub but in 2 meter size since we have the Clampotron Sr.? I don't think 5 or 6 sided would work with 2 meter sizes but 3 or 2 might
  2. I could see the point of this. Probes could be used for landing especially for atmospheric planets and Gene returns some feedback. Maybe just some simple charts so he doesn't flat out tell you. Also maybe you might have to land a few probes to get enough information for a full table about loss due to drag and things.
  3. Aw I thought this was going to be a thread about different space station and planetary base parts.
  4. But what about time warping for planets to be in the right place for an injection burn? If I get it in my head that I want to try and go to Moho, I don't want to be interrupted because my refueling stations are now falling out of the sky. Also since we can launch so many rockets so quickly wouldn't most of your ships fail all at once?
  5. I would not be against said big Kerbin corporations offering me money to put their satellite into orbit to "conduct research that definitely isn't beaming thoughts into people's heads:D" Because that's in the spirit of the game. Slapping sponsors on my rockets like they're in nascar is not.
  6. We weren't doing them because it was incredibly expensive and everything had to be planned out and go exactly according to plan. KSP adopts a more "What do I want to do today? Mun sounds good, lets go there" feel. If your mission fails you go oh well, I'll send up a rescue ship later. NASA had to avoid that completely.
  7. Personally I'm against this because I feel it falls under the random disasters sort of category, but on a more technical level wouldn't this make all the inline batteries useless if you have to remove the whole part to replace them?
  8. Besides what would be the point? The craft is in space. Not like your average consumer is going to be looking through a telescope, see your craft, then think to themselves, "I could really use a kerba-kola right now." I understand on planes and things because people see those. I'm the only one who would be seeing my ship, and I don't really want a massive logo to how in debt I was that I had to go to kerba-kola for funding.
  9. Maybe just a new part that is kinda like a decal that you can put in, it's clear and you can type your own text.
  10. Or at random times on Kerbin. No reason Kerbin shouldn't have weather.
  11. Either way it seems to make sense during vehicle construction anyway. The direction you and the rocket are facing when you enter the VAB is the direction you and the rocket are facing when you launch.
  12. I have to split up bits of rocket all the time during my asparagus stage construction. I build it on 6 times symmetry because it's faster and then split the decouplers and separation rockets manually.
  13. First off you might want to settle down a bit. Shouting at people will get you nowhere. Secondly the reason those groups expand is so you can select specific ones to take them out of that group, in case you want to put them in multiple separate stages. Third the staging symbols on the very edge of the screen really aren't that big, when they're tucked over in the corner.
  14. Supported. I couldn't build my interplanetary ship because the drive pods docked slightly sideways, even with 2 docking ports for alignment.
  15. What if once you got close enough to an asteroid with the appropriate part on the ship you could add a docking port to it. Similar to this mod http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/20-asteroids-from-fasa-2/
  16. What if you have to build a gate in the kerbol system and it can send ships to a neighboring star system but with little to no precision. IE you could be orbiting at a given range of altitudes of the other star. This lack of precision would remain until you build another gate in the neighboring system. Also to fix the "gate being too small for future ships" issue we could make the gate in the shape of a shallow U instead of a circle.
  17. Sort of like the trophy hall thing in civilization revolution maybe? where you could see kerbals walking around it, messing around, doing kerbal things, maybe have model ships you were especially proud of. You could move down the hall by scrolling maybe, and still maintain camera controls.
  18. Remotetech does a fairly good job with transmitting information back to kerbin but it only affects probes. Manned mission don't need ground contact. On the concept of planet discovery maybe you would have to build a telescope either at ksp or in orbit and it would reveal the orbits of a few planets close to kerbin (maybe the inner planets and duna)but they would be the black balls like you said until you send a probe to them. Then you could build a stronger telescope to reveal the farther planets.
  19. Well just don't call it a stargate. We have a lot of options, jumpgate, hypergate, etc. Personally I think this is a great option because it encourages having to use standard technology to get there first. Similar to fast travel in other games. You have to build the gate and send it to the destination before you can use it.
  20. Most of the "no aliens" probably refers to a whole new spacefaring alien race not plant and animal life, at least I would hope so. Also, love the planets.
  21. You can already fix broken wheels on eva. Although I still agree even though this has been suggested many times.
  22. If for any reason they did get rid of the revert feature for career mode they would have to add some sort of simulation mechanic for actual testing or dozens of kerbals would die on the launchpad. While this might help with the realism of the game I fell it would hurt the feeling of the game. Half of the fun of launching most of these insane contraptions that most likely violate laws of physics just by existing, is trying to fix the problems until you actually manage to make them work.
  23. Do you mean debris that reenters the atmosphere gets destroyed so we wouldn't be able to salvage it? It seems to make sense. Unless you put some parachutes on and activate them in atmosphere the debris wouldn't survive the landing anyways.
