[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
There are no errors in your log from this mod, and many from others. Try searching your log file (the output_log.txt one) for "exception" and removing those mods until you have no exceptions any more and/or your problem goes away. Then try re-adding the mods one at a time until the exceptions and/or your problem returns. That mod is possibly the culprite. Report it on that mod's thread and give the author a chance to help. Possible ones to start with, based on where the exceptions occurred: US_Core (not likely? #4), Contracts (possible? #1), KerbalAlarmClock (not likely? #3), DebRefund (maybe? #2) Yay log file! Ew mediafire . You are using Tarsier Space Tech. Read back several pages (many many pages now?) to possible solutions. Let me know if that works. Did you see that I linked to you from the wiki? -
[1.0.2] TAC Sticky Controls v0.3.1 [24May]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
That was a good idea so I had to steal it . It should work for rovers too. You just have to remember to back out any steering inputs that you give because it won't automatically return to neutral. It does not work for EVAs though, and I'm not sure why. Also, I do not recommend using this when flying any kind of vessel in space -- but that is why I made it easy to toggle on and off. My opinion, as the mod author, is that it works best for flying planes in the atmosphere and that is what it is designed for. -

Did you try temporarily removing the Tarsier Space Technologies mod and see if the issue goes away? If it does, check that mod's thread to see if there is a fix yet or look back several pages to where I helped someone with a workaround. You're welcome. Have fun -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]

Please don't use Mediafire (too much ad spam). Do you know why you get all of these? HandleD3DDeviceLost HandleD3DDeviceLost: still lost Skipped rendering frame because GfxDevice is in invalid state (device lost) (Filename: Line: 1502) HandleD3DDeviceLost HandleD3DDeviceLost: still lost Skipped frame because GfxDevice is in invalid state (device lost) Maybe try forcing OpenGL? Err... yeah... I should have thought about that right away. In order for a part to function, it has to be activated. Otherwise, KSP/Unity won't call the update method. Activating the part causes all modules on the part to start functioning -- both the converter and the engine. This is not a bug, it is a limitation of KSP/Unity. Short answer: don't do that. Long answer: there is not a good solution (that I know of). -
[1.0.2] TAC Sticky Controls v0.3.1 [24May]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Unfortunately, that is not implemented yet (see the OP). SoonTM. For now, you can drag it most of the way off the screen. It will resist being dragged completely off the screen so you do not need to worry about losing it. -
[0.90.0] Fine Print vSTOCK'D - BETA RELEASE!!! (December 15)
TaranisElsu replied to Arsonide's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It is off topic for this thread but I wanted to point out that this is incorrect. TACLS tracks resource consumption from the first time that you get within 2.3km of the Kerbal. I have seen others have the same problem because their orbit got within 2.3 km but it took a few more orbits before they got a nice encounter that they liked. Keep this is mind, and keep your orbit away from the Kerbal until you are ready to intercept them and you should be fine. If that is not what happened in your case, or if it still seems wrong, please post a bug report on my thread after reading the instructions in my signature (I will need a log file). Thanks! -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thank you for finding the mistake in the Water Purifier. I will take a look at it: https://github.com/taraniselsu/TacLifeSupport/issues/50. As for the "efficiency multiplier", that was intended to indicate how much longer your supplies should last with the recycler compared to without. So if you pack 100 days of oxygen and a recycler, it should last for 500 days or whatever. I will consider an "emergency mode", but I have already said that I will not put in a stasis mode. Not until we get true interstellar travel. In my opinion, it is not necessary for interplanetary travel. But this mod contains a work-around for the included parts, and if you are seeing that for included parts then something is wrong. Hence the request for a log file. Because without a log file, I have no idea what could be going wrong and anything I say would just be a guess. 1 unit = 1 liter Kerbals generate 31.97 units (liters) of CarbonDioxide per Kerbal per Kerbin-day. It is compressed (to a liquid state) when stored so that it only takes up 0.067 L of space. That number was used when calculating how much could fit in the different containers. -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Log file? See my signature. Why didn't you specify which version of TACLS you are using? "I downloaded the appropriate version of this add on from curse" is not very specific. Are you using the Tarsier Space Technology mod? If so, look back several pages for a fix. Log file? See my signature. -
[1.0.2] TAC Self Destruct v1.5.1 [13May]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It's fairly far down the tree, Advanced Science Tech, which is Tier 8. I don't feel like it really "fits" on any of the nodes. If you have a suggestion, I would like to hear it. -
Thanks for a log file! How repeatable is the crash? I do not see any errors that are attributable to TACFB, but I do see a lot of errors from other mods, mainly Toolbar and MechJeb and Achievements. Try temporarily removing them and see what changes. Also, make sure that all of your mods are up-to-date. Make sure that you back up your save file first.

[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
You should just need to delete KSP/GameData/ThunderAerospace/TacLifeSupport/PluginData/TacLifeSupport/LifeSupport.cfg and replace KSP/GameData/ThunderAerospace/TacLifeSupport/TacResources.cfg with the original from the download. If that does not work, then completely delete the entire mod and reinstall. If that does not work, then get me a good log file (see my signature), I addressed that a few pages back. See what I wrote there. And have you look at the wiki? And an FAQ appears! I added the answer to that question. I will try to keep adding questions that get asked often. It should save me some time re-typing answers that got buried in the thread. -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Read back several pages for issues when used with the Tarsier Space Technology mod. Short answer: that mod has an error that prevents some other mods, including TACLS, from loading. Someone else helped find a fix/workaround until TST gets updated. The issue has also been mentioned in TST's thread. 1) No. Squad started to do that and decided not to for various reasons. Also, I do not think that change is within the scope of this mod. 2) I added config files that work with Modular Fuel Tanks, so that when that mod is present, you have one part of each size. I also started working on a config file for TweakScale. I plan on working with the Procedural Parts maintainers to make sure this works well with that mod. If you want, you (or anyone) can make some config files that do what you want and I will consider including them in the mod (or just providing a link to them). I think B9 uses the Firespitter dll? I do not use B9 myself so I will need someone to help. Look up two lines Yes, this is compatible with mods that add pods including Novapunch. @somnambulist and @DeltaC00K13Z are correct. It will automatically add 3 days of resources to all command pods. The only requirement is that the parts have crew capacity and can act as a control source (so not the stock Hitchhiker part). I think that would require changes on MFT's side. Glad it works now. Have fun -
You are right that I did not add a download link in the release announcement post, but there is a download link in the OP (a little farther down the page). Is that good enough? Are you on the wrong thread?

[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Did you know that I created a wiki? It does not say in the OP, but it is said in the wiki that is linked to from the OP: "Read the full description (on the wiki)." The OP was getting too long, which is why I moved a lot to the wiki instead. I tried to add lots of useful information there that would help. Did you know that I created a wiki? No known issues on 64-bit Linux. Only the 64-bit Windows version has problems -- unrelated to this mod or most others. The log file that you linked to does not show MM nor TACLS installed. Nor any other mod? This does not look good: The class named 'InputSettings' is not derived from MonoBehaviour or ScriptableObject! (Filename: Line: 1633) The class named 'AudioFXSettings' is not derived from MonoBehaviour or ScriptableObject! (Filename: Line: 1633) The class named 'GameplaySettingsScreen' is not derived from MonoBehaviour or ScriptableObject! (Filename: Line: 1633) The class named 'VideoSettings' is not derived from MonoBehaviour or ScriptableObject! You also have a lot of these errors: HandleD3DDeviceLost HandleD3DDeviceLost: still lost Skipped rendering frame because GfxDevice is in invalid state (device lost) Are they related to a joystick or out-of-date graphics drivers? It looks like you have the game installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Dion\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\ My recommendation is to move the game out of the Program Files directory. Put it somewhere like: C:\Games\KSP. Also, try deleting the game and redownloading it. I suspect that your install is corrupted. Did you know that I created a wiki? (This is not aimed at anyone in particular. It just seems like a lot of people are overlooking it. If you have suggestions on how to make it more useful, please send them my way .) -
I'm not sure that I understand how to use this: (http://ksp.cybutek.net/kspavc/Documents/README.htm) So I still need a remote version file? I cannot use this instead of one? I was wondering if I could use the Github section instead of a remote version file. Just create a local version file that will point it to the Github repository where it will parse the latest release's number and check that against the local file's number. If they don't match, then notify that an update is available. I am also confused by this line: "If the latest release version is not equal to the version in the file, an update notification will not appear." Have I misunderstood how the Github section works? Thanks!

[1.0.2] TAC Self Destruct v1.5.1 [13May]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
You are actually the first person to express that opinion to me. I have had several people express the opposite opinion though. -
Thank you for the log file! Would you describe what you were doing when it was spamming? Were you driving a rover? Did it stop if you stopped the rover? Does it happen with a different craft? Are you reporting it because it had a noticeable effect on the frame rate (caused lag)? Thank you for the additional data. That is something that I need to fix. The game seems to be changing the vessel's "situation" (i.e. landed, flying, sub_orbital, etc) a lot more frequently than I expect.

[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Log file? See my signature. Yes, if you turned off the mod, there would still be an icon in the Space Center scene. I'm just guessing since I don't have a log file to look at, but is it working in a Sandbox save but not a Career save? Are you also using the Tarsier Space Technology mod? If so, look back a few pages to where I helped someone else fix their install. If that is not the problem, then I need a log file to start diagnosing what is wrong. That depends on how far you are going. Anywhere outside the Kerbin SoI, you're probably looking at roud trip times in the hundreds of days, or even thousands for Eeloo. And then you have the fact that you could have 3 or more people on board, and you're looking at stacking many of them even if you use recyclers. Yes, a normal sized container does last 300+ days for a single Kerbal. Trips to the Mun or Minmus are short and are easy to provide for. But as Crater said, trips to other planets are much longer and will require more supplies. I calcuated that a round-trip to Duna would take ~1130 Kerbin days (including the wait for a return window). Sending 6 Kerbals would require adding 2.4 large containers or about 4.5 tons. That may not sound like much but a Mk1-2 Command Pod + PPD-10 Hitchhiker Storage Container is only 6.5 tons, so your life support supplies will increase the mass required for your crew by ~70%. And a round-trip to Jool would take ~3023 Kerbin days. BTW, all of my math is available in my spreadsheet. -

[1.0.2] TAC Self Destruct v1.5.1 [13May]
TaranisElsu replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Changes Updated for KSP 0.25 Bug fix: the right-click menu was not always updating correctly Display of the countdown is now togglable. The countdown is now hidden when the UI is hidden (F2) Reorganized the directory structure so that it is no longer placed in ThunderAerospace. Added support for the KSP Add-on Version Checker (KSP-AVC) and the KSP-AVC plug-in Warning: make sure that you completely uninstall any previous versions. I moved everything from KSP/GameData/ThunderAerospace/TacSelfDestruct to just KSP/GameData/TacSelfDestruct -
fuse the alt-record contracts into one
TaranisElsu replied to KerbMav's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
There are actually a near infinite number of Altitude Record contracts. They will keep being generated with a higher altitude than your highest flight until you reach space. I think they are there for more novice players who are just starting with KSP. For that reason, I do not think they should be changed. Most experienced players will just complete the 5km one and the reach space contract and never see any of the other altitude record contracts. -
"Programmable" Vessel Functionality
TaranisElsu replied to 9B7C's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Not stock, but there are some mods that do what you want (not sure if you are already aware of them): kOS - http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/68089-0-25-kOS-Scriptable-Autopilot-System-v0-14-2-2014-10-08 Smart Parts - http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/64227-0-24-1-27-July-Smart-Parts-V2-0-New-API-and-new-KM-folder-structure I use kOS and really like it a lot. I have not tried Smart Parts yet, but it looks like it has some neat functionality. Looks like it has not been updated for 0.25 yet though. -
Ksp Crashing In Loading Screen
TaranisElsu replied to DrPigi's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
If I am reading your log file correctly, KSP is only being given ~256MB of RAM. Try closing everything else so that KSP is the only program running, and upload a new log file. Also, you could remove SpacePlanePlus since most of those parts are stock in 0.25. What Station Science mod do you have? It shows it in the KSP/Plugins directory: C:\Users\owner\Desktop\Kerbal Space Program\Plugins\StationScience.dll. All current mods should be installed under GameData. Is that an old version or is it installed in the wrong place? -
The point ferram is making is: go read the [Official] How To Get Support (READ FIRST) thread and post the information requested in that thread, especially an entire log file. Neither Kerbal Engineer nor FAR cause the error shown. I have no idea what the FIND button is from. Something is causing stuff to get messed up, but we need more information before we can help. If you already found and fixed the problem, then ignore us and have fun!
