  1. Sorry Nibb but the article said nothing about going into LEO only and it would also be launched from Guiana, but i understand your point. May i ask what the crew escape infrastructure is?
  2. What about this? Or the Landkreuzer Ratte
  3. Sounds interesting! Welcome to the Forums!
  4. @Latcarf i wasn't trying to be mean but i think that in the modern World new technological breakthroughs can't be kept secret, at least not for long.
  5. @Latcarf how would they hide those technologies? And yes i'm sure that no country has or will ever have any kind of "intergalactic ship"in orbit. PS: using a sci fi tv series as an example makes stuff you say not very believable.
  6. Sorry but i'm not talking about sending it to the ISS. Tough a smaller and more lightweight Orion for LEO sounds interesting too.
  7. Of course they would have to build a special launchpad but that can't be that hard.
  8. Yes it had it had fins but following versions wouldn't.
  9. Are you sure? I mean its not the current version of the Ariane and why would they conduct such a study then? I have still hope for a manned Ariane 5 maybe with the Crew Transfer Vehicle.
  10. Do you have link to one of those older version?
  11. The Ariane 5 me that is in development is able to send the Orion on a translunar trajectory.
  12. Before most Threads got deleted i came up with the idea to use Ariane 5 as an optional launch vehicle for the Orion MPCV and it turns out that someone had the exact same thought! I think its good idea not only for international collaboration, but it would also allow the Ariane 5 to finally complete on of its original goals, to send humans into space! Though in guiana they would have to build a launchpad near the ocean in the case of a launch abort.
  13. Swivelling engines can steer your rocket with out adding additional drag. The V2 had the big fins in order to be self stabilized like a dart and to help control. It had no thrust vectoring and was only able to control itself due to small "Strahlruder" control surfaces that where suspended into the exhaust of the Rocket. I think i even heard that the second generation of Saturn V's would have got rid of their fins.
  14. I like the physical connection much better than the blue laser(How would that work anyway). Its really sad that the Docking Struts don't work anymore;.;
  15. This is a small 3 Kerbal lander: Booster seperation: Munar deorbit: Macski Kerman enjoys his stay on the Mun: Reentry:
  16. Thank you very much! I have actually searched on Kerbal SpacePort maybe i made typo.
  17. Take a look at this site: http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/spacewarintro.php It's pretty interesting to read. And this is a nice video: The ships are far too close and lasers wouldn't be visible but it's still a good video.
  18. I personally like the new 3 Kerbal pod much more but having the old one as a mod would be nice.
  19. Does anyone know where i can find the Docking Strut plugin?
  20. So this is where all those myths of spontaneous Human combustion come from?
  21. Have you installed one of BobCats mods? They cause the launch clamps to explode.
  22. Ariane 5 is transported standing on a crawler that uses tracks instead of treads. Edit: I found a video about it: I just noticed that the VAB at Guiana and the one in KSP have somewhat similar colors.
