  1. Yes... mostly. SQUAD are aware of issues with KSP on High Sierra, they don't seem to have a real solution yet though. Check this thread for discussion and some possible workarounds. Personally, I have a 13" 2017 MacBook Pro, and running with the `-force-opengl`argument got KSP working acceptably well for me.
  2. You might want to start looking in to the Realism Overhaul suite.
  3. I used ownCloud for a long time, and am about to install nextCloud on my home server. They both do the same thing, act as an open source, self-hosted equivalent for dropbox and similar. Also have good free, open source clients for all the major desktop and mobile operating systems. Can confirm that the Linux client docks very nicely in the GNOME tool bar and automatically keeps required folders synced.
  4. CKAN is not dead for Mac users. The graphical UI of the official client has an uncertain future right now. But it definitely still works. And the command line and consoleui modes will keep working after winforms breaks on MacOS. The other CKAN client I know if is pyKAN, which is very usable although doesn't (yet) have a GUI: And I'm only familiar with one other serious module manager for KSP. KSP Mod Admin looks great, and seems to work well in Windows. But I've never been able to get it running properly in either Linux or Windows, sorry. That's... all there is, I think. But I'd love to be corrected. Not least because I want to make sure mods I work on work with module managers.
  5. It's easy. Make sure the arrow is pointing down.
  6. The latest KSP Weekly included an announcement that a German translation would be in the 1.4 release. Squad don't discuss dates until very close to release, but it sounds like it will be fairly soon.
  7. You killed it while it was trying to run updates? Ow, no longer surprised you had game folders in an unexpected state. One user error and one anecdote hardly makes for "often enough". But if you want to be super cautious and keep multiple backups of your game folder, go for it.
  8. Turn off auto updates. If a new release drops it will prompt you to upgrade. If you're not ready to yet, either pin to the previous release in the properties or don't launch the game through Steam. Odd. I've been running KSP from Steam on Windows and Linux for more than four years and that hasn't happened once. Got a link? I'm curious now.
  9. For the spoiler in your post. You're literally replying to a quote from a Squad staff member saying that they want players to figure the code out for themselves.
  10. Maaaybe a little over cautious here, but I know I'd be disappointed if I came here to see if it existed at all (as per the topic) and missed out on the fun of figuring out the code myself.
  11. Spoiler tag that, at least. edit: Apologies for sounding so abrupt. When the subject came up in the Extended Edition grand discussion thread, @UomoCapra had this to say: I read that as treating how to access the menu kind of like an easter egg. Thanks @AndyChilly for bearing with me.
  12. Hidden Figures? I agree, fantastic film.
  13. So, it sounds like a few other people in the release announcement thread are having trouble with trim as well. Would you care to elaborate on what buttons set and clear trim, so that others can check their setup too? cc @James M, @Haye
  14. Do you have trim set on the craft? Definitely not the first report of craft behaving unexpectedly during flight.
  15. velocity = how fast you're moving angular velocity = how fast you're spinning
  16. Does that mean that when the craft is sitting idle with no input, the yaw dial is off to one side? On PC that's usually a sign that trim has been (accidentally?) set. I'd check and make sure that there's no trim applied, but sorry not sure how to do that. EDIT: ninja'd by nestor. Sorry.
  17. There is no hyperedit, that's a mod. If you're referring to the debug menu, @UomoCapra dropped hints for how to find it in the grand discussion thread.
  18. Figure out why mechjeb is crashing on your install and fix it. Use mechjeb.
  19. Known concerns and a handful of possible workarounds with KSP on High Sierra are documented in this thread. As well as those suggestions, if you're on a 15" MacBook Pro, it may be worth trying to force using the higher-performance discrete graphics card. EDIT: I've just gotten home and tried running the game on my 13" 2017 MacBook Pro, that I picked up from the store a week ago. Running the game with the default settings was horrible, getting the same stuttering and lag all through. I was able to launch a Kerbal X, but it was a slideshow. Added the `-force-opengl` argument, and it seems a lot smoother. Launched a Kerbal X, in a new sandbox game, with all default settings. The MET timer flickered between green and yellow a fair bit, but the game ran smoothly all the way to orbit.
  20. Drakau's is very out of date, it applies to the previous console release, even the mapping that's supposed to be similar in this release has some changes. This post includes diagrams of all three controller schemes for the PS4. @UomoCapra mentioned that the xbone mapping is similar, but I haven't seen it posted yet.
