I have a heavy lifter over in the stock repository, Spaceport link here. It's old and somewhat prone to random unplanned dissasembly if flown aggressively, but it'll move 100t with fuel to spare for orbital maneuvers. Edit: After looking at it for the first time in a more than month, I'm ashamed of the hideous strut work on this rocket. I'll build a cleaner one today I think. -
I got in on this during the kickstarter, it's not bad. In game terrain modification and the like. Pathea is partially based out of China, so it does make some sense for them to use Chinese file sharing sites.

I haven't actually had much luck getting the Railgun to fire, honestly. I understand how it's supposed to work, but my ammo building skills have always been pretty crap. Give me a few minutes to host it somewhere and I'll shoot you a PM with a link. edit: It shoots now! Much more like its namesake than intended. The railgun's projectiles tend to fragment during firing, making it well suited for med-close range attacks. Also RCS missiles and magazine drone added. Updated gallery with pictures. -

Another Railgun Ship for you Chunkblaster! Presenting the R-11 B Arquebus Picket Vessel A rare military design from the otherwise peaceable Ios Orbital Salvage Services Inc. The Arquebus Class of light picket craft are being designed to accompany unarmed utility vessels in areas of questionable security. Armaments being developed for this hull include a short-barreled railgun, with a variety* of munitions, guided or otherwise, and several varieties of small guided missile systems. Currently clocking in at something around 170 parts, these guys are pretty easy on hardware, and can be loaded with up to five railgun charges and four small smart missiles on docking ports behind the shield. According to Kerbal engineer this craft has just over 5700 Dv, and a TWR of .25. Plans to move them in pairs, attached to a central drop tank are being considered for Jool SOI deployments. *Only one actual functional munition has been produced, IOSS engineers are still scraping together funding for a proper target. Current effectiveness untested. -

I'd love to have that hybrid lander capsule. Y'know, in a perfect world with IVA's and such. -
I'm most worried about the spent fuel rod storage situation on the fukushima power plant site. The pools being used were originally designed for much smaller quantities of spent fuel, and were damaged during the tsunami, exposing several of the containers to open air, damaging their cases. Also, the computer controlled crane used to move these containers was destroyed, requiring all of these containers to be removed manually. If these fuel rods are not removed with EXTREME caution, they may start an uncontrollable chain reaction and release amounts of radioactive material that would make everything thus far look like a match compared to a house fire.

Not a huge station, I admit. Also not lit very well. Messing around with some of ZZZ's parts to make a small skylab-esque orbital lab, which in my head is devoted to the production of a Pizza so unstable, and containing such potential for catastrophic devastation, that orbital facilities were required for continued development. The bit I'm most proud of is the little crawl-through for the ladder between the crew can and the laboratory. No idea why. -

My post in the stock repository has two apollo style moon packages, complete with landers, no rovers yet, sadly. Both are good for either the Mun or Minmus, the lighter lander does have a tight fuel budget for the Mun though. I'd recommend this one.

I stumbled into a solid medium lift platform, and then made it pretty, thought I'd share them here. The AR-2b Lifters are Rated for 67t, though I assume there's more lift tonnage to squeeze out with careful piloting. Also, these handle like a thrown brick, so be prepared to turn SLOOOOOOOOWLY, and abort if things get squirrely, squirrely isn't something that the core lifter can deal with well. I'll continue to update these as my landers and payloads evolve, and with mission sample images. Suspect that is caused by my use of some B9 wings as decorative structure near the engine connections, I don't think they're aligned properly to cancel each other out. -

Thanks Nyrath, it was my fault really, not keeping things up to date properly. KSN Farsight downloads fixed and updated, they should work now. I really need to keep my (rather massive) mods list in better shape. Additional note, Turn on the "unbreakable joints" and "no crash damage" cheats for just long enough to absorb the initial shock of physics loading to prevent castastrophic ship deconstruction on the pad. Once physics are applied to the vessel, cheats are no longer needed. Flight profile should remain the same, newer version carries 6 400MN magazines, just in case. -

I thought I updated my orion drive mod a couple days ago, just before the build, I guess not. I'll update the .craft file momentarily. Sorry again, I shouldn't post ships at 3 in the morning Edit: Attempts to bring the Farsight up to current technologies are proving more difficult than anticipated, haven't been able to get new versions to recognize the updated orion engine unit, which could be some sort of error on my end, It turns out I was using version 11 when I was building it. current plan of action is to dig around for the 2MN bomb part and add that to the current version, then delete the 2MN bombs from the stacks. -

And now for the special Bonus Round I now present my god-awful monster of an Orion drive vessel for your slideshow flying pleasure! KSN Farsight This ship is so laggy on my computer that I dare not even keep it on the same SAVE file as my other vessels for fear that their reality may spontaneously fail. Instructions are similar to most of my ships, with some tweaks for the Orion drive. Set ascent height to something like 1000km, kill all feeds on the Orion engine except 80MN, turn on RCS, then SPAAAAAACE. Once apoapsis is acquired start 10MN feed, start 3.5 feed at around 30m/s remaining burn, KILL ALL OTHER FEEDS. Kill 3.5MN feed in single digit remaining burn Dv and press 4 to start up the "fine control" nuclear rockets to finalize orbit. Congratulations! Action groups are as follows: 1 toggles Hangar doors, 2 toggles greenhouse doors, 3 toggles solar panels, and 4 toggles the fine control rockets. you should notice minor cosmetic changes from the picture, moved some solar panels around and added a ring of red lights around the drive unit. As you might expect, this vessel requres Nyrath's Orion mod, available HERE. If anyone out there can put this to some use I'd much appreciate some pictures, I play on a laptop and just can't handle the lag. -

I sent you the .Craft earlier, sadly that quoted price included a shoestring budget lifter that required the lander to do the brunt of its final ascent and orbit. The newer lifter and refined lander are much more reliable, but also more expensive. -
I've been building some Science fiction-ish ships lately, and I decided to take a crack at a "more reasonable" Orion drive spacecraft in that same style. I haven't named it as of yet, and don't really plan to use it for anything, it's a slideshow even just sitting in space. I has 3 6m long hangars for landers or spaceplanes with Large docking ports at either end, anything I loaded into them would come with some sort of sub docking gantry, It also carries six greenhouse modules, to ease supply burden and to give its sixteen kerbals a relaxing green space to float in while not on duty.

I've been sitting on this idea for a while: The Coat-hanger challenge. Build a ship that can hang underneath a Mun Arch by use of a hook made from structural components, and attempt to successfully do so. No fail conditions, try as many times as you like. First successfully hanging ship wins. For bonus points, add a second hook under your vehicle and hang a second craft beneath it.
