  1. There are actually a lot of mods that changed ownership. I think even big stuff like EVE, KAS, and mechjeb switched the modder? Often seeing outdated forum threads from before a mod chnaged. KW rocketry has it's community fixes done by other parts of the community, and that's pretty much the reason there wasn't another official release. Otherwise I don't really see what else is there to do, aside ofc the mentioned encouragement of modders to use open licenses. Not sure what else you're expecting. I think it is a bit hard to justify to nail down modders with rules or anything, taking their property away in any way. The whole idea of modding is based around the willingness of sharing, there is little room to enforce anything, as long as they don't ask for money.
  2. You mean it'll look awesome. Why would you want your atomic cruise to be small? It should block out the sun!
  3. TY for the update! Especially the new RCS throttle function made me miss this mod.
  4. I recently had issues with Alien Isolation, where I couldn't use my online save in offline mode. Sometimes, especially after updates, games also want me to go online first. Some bug with steam cloud also has overwritten my deus ex HR saves (around last 2 hours of the game) with 1 month old versions. Offline longin files don't get corrupted as often anymore. Software is still unwieldly and slow in a lot of regards, but it could be a nightmare to use in earlier times. But that's not really the point. Man Horseman, you're misinterpreting my posts. I thought I was pretty clear when I said that digitally bought games and DRM are fine, but you can not get drm-less copies anymore, not even by retail. Offline mode can only be ever used after installing in online (and sometimes starting the game one time), by using log in informations that are saved on your computer. And games being locked to an online platform is something steam has enabled, which is sad. It's kind of a joke collectors editions are even sold considering you only ever get a steam version. A this point, Origin works actually fine btw. It's definitly faster than steam.
  5. Try to install a game in offline mode. Also, sometimes steam just arbitrarily wants you to log in, or some games get issues with offline saves. Just write some abysmal external software and call it Uplay. Done. ~
  6. What i wrote: I don't see an issue with DRM in digital distribution. It's basically even required as far as downloading games goes. Can have a bit of a discussion about the cancerlike appendages of steam that are woven into the exe (aside from exceptions like KSP), but that's still understandable as for digital games, and Steam uses very fragile copy protection, that mostly only includes some link in the executable. Not that it'd ever stop people from using black copies, but whatever.~ No, what steam did was to make it viable to enforce itself. You don't really buy games anymore in retail (as you can still mostly do with console games), you only buy codes for steam. There is now way to actually 'own' a licensed copy in any sense anymore. Everything needs a connection and rubber-stamping from valve's server before you can even start a game, which is really more like lending a game than actually buying a copy. If you want to see how people feel about that particular issue, look no further than the XB-One and the resistance that one got for it's account program. For the digital store+drm, that's for the most part accepted. Steam gives you less value with the games you buy, but they are also getting cheaper in no time, so that balances itself out and is a net plus i'd say. BTW: For anyone who now wants to put on a wannabe legal amateur show: Don't even bother.
  7. You're talking about digital distribution, that's something different from DRM itself (although it's usually combined, except GoG ofc).
  8. Usually people are liquided at steam because it made enforced DRM viable, and the countless issue and problems that arouse around that. Not that much of an issue for digital games, but it's not like you can even get AAA standalone games anymore.
  9. Well put, i'm not a bit smarter after that answer.
  10. I don't really see how a modding site supporting more than 1 game is a bad thing. What's the issue?
  11. Just checked and you're correct. Interesting, I didn't have any issue yet controlling my craft. Guess the 900/909 are orbital engines anyway, and I rather used the KW rocketry engines instead of the 45/30.
  12. All gimbals worked, even the bollard (quad engine/quad vernier) does its job for me. EDIT: Had some issue with occlusion just while rising from duna. Might not even have anything to do with the revamp, be a 1.1 issue, but who knows. Log doesn't say much, just this constantly repeating:
  13. Yeah, that was the word I was searching for. Everything in KSP is abstracted. BRB sending pressure data from solar orbit back to kerbin. ~ Although the mod indeed seems a bit more realistic than I expected.
  14. Relax, I'm not trying to discredit the mod. The greenhouses are a bit arbitrary, aren't they? Or is that actually more realistic than I might think as well ?
  15. Thx, i know there are configs, but as said: I quite like how this is set up. Seen the wiki, but there seems to be a bunch of oudated stuff as well. I've got an idea of life support, but colonizations is something i might just have to try. Might send some things to the moon.~
  16. His supplies itself - and especially reuse - are more arbitrary tho. That's not to say it's a badly thought out system or anything. It works very, very well. Also, you can put greenhouses onto your ships, which is awesome!
  17. There is already an updated version: Of course, it's more comfortable just to wait.~
  18. Their dope. I split my mod usage: Realism Overhaul/RSS/RP-0 gets the hardcore stuff, KSP gets the kerbal stuff.
  19. Nah, Roverdude is crazy in the awesome sense. <3 Soon he'll have so many rover and transportations mods we can dissasemble laythe and replace the moon with it. Always wanted to lie on sandy beaches while looking down on some billion kerbals or so. Well, it's a more kerbal, forgiving system. USI doesn't even kill your kerbals when your supplies run out. Compare that to TAC life support where even the weight of food wrapping is included.
  20. I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. :^)
  21. ^Thx, I see. Not that that'd matter for my save. USIKolon looks so awesome, but it's so hard to get an understanding of this mod because of the limited documentation.
  22. From OP: I guess Jeb shouldn't go tourist in the first place, tho. Sadly, in my install (which is a 'mostly' non revert thing), all red shirts died a horrible death, before I even knew of that exception.
  23. Speaking of KW, there is still one bugged engine plume: I think it's the KW Fixes that added a Liquid Fuel version of the 2.5m apollo style monoprop engine. Called 'KW Rocketry Service Module Propulsion System'. Monoprop variant looks fine, but this LF variant has a far too small exhaust plume (looks like something for a 0.625 engine). Of course here I'm just assuming you do the patch for that specific part, i don't understand the file structure.
  24. I think the hypergolic effect does fit it best tho. The engine kinda reminds me more of the protons' RD253. Mod has so many Kerolex engines anyway, all the 2.5+ high thrust engines are. Btw, love the effect of the dual nozzle vesta. Looks a bit less boring than the usual LH2 rockets (effect is great, it's that they just have hardly any vissible exhaust).
