    Well, i'm done

You cant make a living off YouTube get real. But you can use it as part of a portfolio to get into a good University or other 3d course and learn how to make real money doing what you love.
  3. Well I am not that hyped about that feature beacause you can already do it perfectly well with the Crew Manifest mod .. of course it will be implemented better by Squad no doubt, it would be good to see Kerbals having a few more stats introduced and being made customisable. I see 0.21 as laying foundations much like 0.20 was, I just cant wait to see some of the strategy stuff starting to come in such as budget, funding missions, resources and the like but I guess we will have to be patient for those larger things that will take many months to sort out.
  4. Nice Kerbal figure - wish I had some spare money to buy one myself.

  5. I love the idea of new launch scenery, and its very exciting to see progress starting towards the meatier strategic parts of the game.
  6. I thought it actually was called Kerbol, I never noticed the info panel saying something different. But I have never liked that much. I would prefer something like 'Sttar' or 'Firei' or 'Gasbol' or something along those lines, but 'The Sun' is fine albeit not very original.
  7. I could see this flag being more interesting of you perhaps removed the union jack and text (which is a bit overkill IMO) and just left the planets/moon as they are on a plain background.
  8. It was certainly in 0.19 used it myself a few times to see spaceships without the icon in the way.
  9. Ive spent alomost 200 hours on the game (so far) just landing on things in the Kerbin system - Mun and Minmas, trying out docking a few times, trying out a spacestation, trying out spaceplanes, rescuing stranded astronauts etc. Next job is probably a round trip to another planet. But I just really love the launches and landings/reentry so I can do those many times without getting fed up. Your imagination is the key to enjoyment of this game, just as it is with Minecraft and Crusader Kings 2 and many other games. You have to set an overall objective - my personal one, like many, is to roughly follow in NASAs footsteps until I pass their achievements by landing on Duna. Of course things are a lot easier when you dont have a budget to worry about.
  10. Well I started off playing the demo and then when I moved to the full game I put on some parts mods pretty quickly such as Novacore, KS Rocketry and KSPX which are my favourites. But I started getting too many mods on and they started slowing the whole game down. So I did remove several that I probably would never use and I am going to be more selective in future.. But now with the 0.20 patch removing all of my mods I am actually finding it rather fun trying to create rockets out of bare bones parts and it is amazing what you can do when you put you mind to it using stock parts. But I certainly couldnt get by without crew manifest and engineer redux at the very least. So at the moment I have got Crew Manifest, Engineer Redux and KSPX on and I will get Novacore and KS Rocketry as well when they are updated, because I do like the variation those mods give me in the look of my rockets - I especially miss the solid rocket boosters for some reason despite the limited use they are at the moment. I am very pro-modding. The Realism and Darth mods of the Total War games have shown me how much modders can change the whole game for the better. The TW games wouldnt be playable for me without mods like that, that slow the whole game down, make it more realisitic and less like a sped up action film. This game certainly is all the better for the mods and I love the way the devs are improving the base experience whilst the modders fill the gaps and provide the variation. It wouldn't be half the game without the modders and I probably wouldnt be still playing it by now if it wasnt for them. So I salute you all!
  11. What is very surprising is how few people are on this forum that are older gamers like me who remember playing more games from the 90s than the modern games of today. I feel really old now! And I wouldnt care but I am only 46! Thanks a lot, lol.
  12. Of all the flags on here I think this is the best one Ive come across - I really like it. Well done!
  13. Been blocked in my country on copyright grounds.
  14. My game loads faster and plays faster but that could well be because I hardly have any mods back in yet. Once I get back Novacore and KW Rocketry mods I will be able to make a more reasonable comparison. But certainly at the moment changing to the map view is very fast compared to before.
  15. On Steam, KSP is No1 with 190+ hours. Second is Endless Space with only 75 hours. Likely to beat KSP is Falcon 4, EF2000, Frontier, Lords of Midnight and maybe a couple of others - possibly Minecraft? Difficult to gauge how long I spent playing games like these. But certainly my one most played game of all time must be Falcon 4, played that game for years literally - probably 6 or 7 years on and off. It must have taken me a year to get a machine capable of running it and another year to figure out how to play the thing! EF2000 and Frontier were played for at least a couple of years each on and off. And that was when I was single/a student (when I had a lot more time than I do now to play games!). So KSP will have to go some to beat my time spent on those great games I played for many many months. But so far KSP is totalling just over two months playtime with an average of around 3 hours a day which is very good going by today's standards - I hardly ever play games much these days. Certainly I havent played any game over the last ten years more than I have played KSP and Minecraft this year. That in itself is remarkable, and quite damning of the present state of gaming as well I feel. Lately its unusual if I play a game more than 50 hours before getting bored, and the majority of my games I have only played for less than 15 hours!
  16. Nooooo!!! I need the old 0.19 copy back. Just realised my old design has the old manifest on it and I cant load it. Took me ages to make that rocket as well!!!
  17. Havent bothered to read through all this as most of it seems to be confusing. Is the spaceport mod 0.20 compatible now or not? Because it seems not?
  18. Ahh yes now that you mention it I might have renamed them....now I feel a little bit stupid. Thanks for the reply.
  19. Jesus what a mess. Still dont understand what the hell I am suppose to do with plugindata. Why cant everything just be in a flaming Mods folder? Why is it all in gamedata? I thought that was just for the devs to use. Why do I still have another parts and plugins folder then - is that for old mods or something? Cant get my head around all this.
  20. Is it just me or can anyone see anything that is worse in those shots than the present graphical state of the game? Admittedly alot of other stuff has been changed though. Two years!!! Man I bow down to you old hands - you lot must have had to be very patient! I dont think I have played any game for two years. I think only Falcon 4 and Frontier/First Encounters possibly are the only ones I have played for that amount of time, maybe EF2000 as well. These days I get fed up with games after a couple of months. Having said that this game is one of my favourite games and I have played it double the length of time of any other game on Steam to date (although I have Minecraft and a few other non-Steam games I have probably played more). Be interesting to see what the game looks like in May 2015. OF course by then it will have to be competing with Elite: Dangerous and Space Citizen for my time!
  21. I find the spaceplanes are extremely unfriendly to fly and not much fun for me personally. I have loved playing many flight sims in the past which is probably why I cant stand the flight in this game - its so unrealistic. I suppose I would enjoy it more if there was a way of creating a reusable spacecraft and landing it unpowered. But that kind of thing is waaaay waaaay off in the development of this game judging from the present level of aerodynamic modelling fidelity.
  22. Didnt want to post a bug thread about this yet because I am not sure if it is a bug. But the last time I went into a saved game with my three astronauts on the Mun looking at their flag, the flag had changed from my chosen picture back to the standard Kerbal Space Program default white one. I had put some more flags in the folder since then but that shouldnt affect it. Anyone else encountered this? Is it a bug?
  23. WOW great find! Been wanting this. Now all we need in the tower back and some gantries, smoke/steam effects!
