  1. When I get to fly I always fly like I'm doing the breaststroke swimming technique. I guess that always felt the most natural way for me to move in a 3 dimensional plane so I adapted it to flying.
  2. No, I think I just gain too much awareness and it seems like I'm only half in the dream. My head becomes clearer, free from the crazy inability to control your emotions in dreams and then I start to feel like I'm in my bed and then I start to recognise where light is coming from and then I'm just trying to stop myself from waking up and soon enough I lose it. I can usually get back to sleep but I don't have full control of myself anymore and it'll be a totally different dream. Sometimes I'm lucky and can stay in the dream. My most common state of dream control is actually being able to move, but it takes a lot of effort and I'm really slow and tend to be like pulling myself along with a lot of resistance, and usually gravity is really slow too so I can never get a good grip on the ground (but I don't fly too high either).
  3. As soon as I start getting control over anything in my dream, even just my own body, it becomes a lot harder to avoid waking up.
  4. People who argue in complete logical loops all the time or simply progress nowhere in their argument at all, ie. "This is my opinion:" "Why? "This is what I think:" "Yes, but what are the reasons for such a thing?" "In my opinion..." Sometimes take out the opinion. Oh, and people who know they are bigots and terrible people and simply don't care as if acknowledging it justifies their behaviour.
  5. Last time I looked up 3d printing services on google there seemed to be plenty. Even some locally, which considering where I live I didn't really expect. The only one I found giving pricing was one from the UK. I can't find it but I remember thinking it was fairly reasonable. I think a 12cm tall bust was something like $40 but don't quote me. It all depends on the amount of physical mass, so if you've got a design that's thick maybe get the computer model and hollow it out.
  6. I've heard liquid hydrogen is a very effective method of shielding. Any comments on this?
  7. Okay, well I'm pretty certain doors to outside would be airlocks and wouldn't be as simple to open as turning the handle and pushing lightly.
  8. Well I call dibs. But seriously, if people ever start owning space property, it'd probably be mostly small regions, like on Earth, not entire bodies.
  9. The best weapon... is the maleability of the human mind. That stuff is scary.
  10. Can you really stop someone from owning land in space at this point in time? Country A lands on Mars, claims it. Country B: You can't do that! A: Yes I can! B: No you can't. A: You don't own it! B: That doesn't mean you can. A: Sure it does! Come get it if you want it! B: *grumble mumble waks off*
  11. I once had a dream involving me superjumping around a giant kitchen to get away from a slasher villain.
  12. As a poorly educated computer, I believe we should do away with monarchys and instead have a government of immortal robotic overlords and use humans as batteries.
  13. As an asteroid I think this thread has forgotten about the important things, like asteroids.
  14. I say the current Doctor should be on the back of coins and on notes. As a citizen of the Commonwealth.
  15. So that's who the face on the back of the coins is...
  16. As a citizen of Australia I say we have a queen?
  17. So... Matt Smith is leaving at the end of the year.... this makes me sad, I personally liked him a lot as the Doctor, I was hoping he would outlast Moffat in fact, be nice to see him under a different producer. What pisses me off though is that he won't be leaving on the 50th anniversary, but... a christmas special. I am so tired of these consistently bad to mediocre cheesefests set around a human holiday framing every single important event in the Doctor's life. One more series would have been nice, perhaps even ideal.
  18. I believe there's a bit more to radiation exposure than JUST getting cancer.
  19. I sure hope we can see Skylon completed, but even if they just finish the engines another project could use them as well.
  20. My gravitational pull would have to be insanely weak, though, a speck of dust orbiting me at 2m away would probably have, what, 1 orbit per year?
  21. Yeah, it's just scaled down. I wouldn't try to base a realistic story on the current sizes in game.
  22. Think of it less like oil on water and more like water on skin or something. It evaporates over time, because firstly the higher energy molecules simply fly out, and secondly the wind makes it much easier to blow away. It's like that with atmospheric gases, particularly lighter ones. Except the wind is solar.
  23. I feel like there should be some limitation on when you can end flights. I mean it's primarily meant for letting you relaunch when you mess something up, yes? So maybe after you dock things together in space it won't show up so you can't accidentally delete entire space stations or something.
