Come back old ASAS - all is forgiven!
Tankbuster32 replied to ComradeGoat's topic in KSP1 Discussion
when I design planes, I usually put the center of lift behind the center of mass to keep the plane balanced when low on fuel. Now if they aren't almost perfectly aligned the ASAS will do nothing! also if I trim the plane to keep it stable, the ASAS will just negate the trim and lower the nose rapidly! Also it won't keep my rockets pointing where i want them! -
Rep! i love this thing!

I'm bored. Let's plan a manned Venus landing.
Tankbuster32 replied to The Jedi Master's topic in Science & Spaceflight
How about a kie with turbines attached to it and held by a thick fibreglass cable above the worst of the atmosphere, this would ensure a clean and reliable power source. The balloon lander-thingy seems interesting though... -
How cost effective will the Grasshopper really be?
Tankbuster32 replied to Themohawkninja's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I actually constructed a command pod that lands using enignes, not parachutes. It needs very little fuel to land 3 kerbals safely. -
If you could have a wormhole anchored with one end just after the big bang, and one end here and now, wouldn't the plasma destroy everything like a giant flamethrower? Second method: somehow using gravitational pulses to drill to the nuclear-burning core of the sun. And then directing the fusing plasma towards the earth.

Science in TV series and cinema
Tankbuster32 replied to czokletmuss's topic in Science & Spaceflight
There is a fictionsl documentary about what is essentially a grand tour of the solar system called: Space Odyssey: Voyage to Other Planets and Beyond. It's quite good and realistic. Also if you like hard sci-fi you should read Alastair Reynolds' books. -

Can I put in an order for a very short takeoff and landing variant for mountain bases. Also a cargo variant -
I've tried using mechjeb, but it was too boring and removed that element of trial and error that we all know and love!

the fact that there are so few options when it comes to wings and such. Also that ksp can utilize so little of my computer's processing and graphical power

I'd be the reverse you, only male and not 12. I'm 15 but feel at least 2 years ahead mentally than most of my age group. As one of the "geeks" (i.e the people who don't conform to trends and who are not stupid (not saying everyone beside the "geeks" are stupid, but you get what I mean) I was bullied for two years . I've been fascinated by space and space exploration my whole life and, needless to say, I got a major nerdgasm when I found KSP!
