[1.12.x] AFBW Revived (Joystick & controller mod)
Pyroyoshi replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hello all, I haven't played KSP in a several years after getting it back in early access (or beta I can't remember) I have decided to get back into it. I like using a joystick so I installed this software and it works overall very well. The only problem I am having is a very broad one that I hope someone out there can shed some light on. I have a Thrustmaster 16000M which has a lovely little slider at the bottom that I would like to use for throttle. The problem is that at the bottom the axis reads as -1.0 and at the top 1.0 normally not a big deal but because the bottom isn't 0 I lose half the throttle to input I cannot use. Any solutions for this out there? Thanks EDIT: So I have been playing with this some more and I found in calibration how to reset it so the slider axis was all the way at zero at the bottom and 1 (well -1 but that's fine). However the slider still doesn't really work how a throttle should, when I have the throttle set to Throttle increment and the zero set just slightly off the very bottom of the switch and I move it up the throttle continuously climbs until i get it back to the calibrated zero exactly, then it drops to zero if I go at all below the calibrated zero... I would like to to behave where if I push it up to the middle it goes to 50% throttle and such. Any suggestions? Edit2: I figured out the issue and wanted to update for anyone else who may run into a similar problem The Axis should be calibrated with the slider all the way down so it runs 0-1 (or 0 to -1) then the preset should be Throttle -set to that slider axis. THEN! in the mod settings turn on AFBW input overrides throttle! that did it for me anyway. -
So I specc'ed three builds and would like your opinions on the merits of each and etc. Mini-ITX http://pcpartpicker.com/user/PyroYoshi/saved/J3yQzy -this one the board already has bluetooth and wifi integrated Micro-ATX http://pcpartpicker.com/user/PyroYoshi/saved/Bntrxr ASRock M8 Barebones http://pcpartpicker.com/user/PyroYoshi/saved/Wk9ypg -this one uses a barebones from ASRock as a start...i'm not really sure how I feel about the whole thing in general.
-
I know nothing about it, but it seems to basically be a sort of surface-ish thing. probably do what you need just fine.
-
I would sell you mine for around that but I fear I may need it to transport downloads back to my house in the hills of nowhere.. I would check craigslist honestly, you might find an old thinkpad or ultrabook especially after the holidays when parents are getting rid of old systems.
-
Red Iron Crown: Thanks very much for the suggestions, but If it wouldn't be too much trouble could you help me with the why aspect, In particular with the CPU and GPU. like why i5 and not i3..etc? Also DuoDex, thanks for that suggestion. I'll have to see if with the GPU I can fit it in one of the other PCI-E slots.

I'm hoping you all can help me with my new build! Asking over on reddit and in IRC hasn't been very fruitful. What are you planning to do with this compuer? Please be as specfic as possible. I am planning on running mostly games on linux, or with wine, or with a windows partition if it's very needed. The list of games I would like to be able to play generally nicely is: Borderlands the pre Sequel This war Of Mine Rust DayZ Starmade Xcom Civilization: Beyond Earth Kerbal Space Program EvE Online Witcher II Battlefield 4 Planetside 2 Witcher III (if anyone could guess the specs) What is your budget? I would like to keep it close to $600 Does this include a copy of Windows? I shouldn't need one and if I do I can pick it up through school. Does this include peripherals (a keyboard, monitor, mouse, speakers, etc.)? No, I have all the required peripherals I should need currently. Are you from the United States or a different country? Are you ordering from your own country or from across borders? I'm in the US Wherever you may be from, does the store that you are planning to order from have a website? It's okay if it isn't in English, we can manage. Micro-center and newegg for most things. If you are from the United States, do you live nearby a Microcenter? I live a block or two away from a MicroCenter. Do you have any specific requests with the build? I would like to use Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX if possible. I would like it to be in a SFF case without an optical bay or any of that other nonesense. I want to be able to build stupidly big ships in KSP and not suffer 5fps syndrome as badly as I have been. (current machine I can't fly spaceplanes because they lag too much) Do you plan on overclocking? If yes, do you have a specific goal in mind? I may if I need to in the future but not likely, Would you prefer the build to be particularly small? Yes please, No huge tower builds with a bazillion bays, I just need one SSD slot and maybe an HDD. Would you prefer the build to be particularly quiet? not especially In general, do you prefer this to be a computer that you can spend money on now and let it rest, or a box built for continuous upgrading? I would prefer to spend a little bit on it now and leave it alone till games start really surpassing it. I may go to water cooling or something if it would really need it, but for now just a simple setup is best. Do you ever plan on utilizing NVIDIA's SLI or AMD's CrossfireX technologies? These features, with a compatible motherboard, allow a user to link multiple identical graphic cards together for added performance. In real world terms, this lets you buy a second identical graphics card down the line as a relatively cheap and easy way to gain a fairly large boost in performance. However, this requires buying a SLI/CFX compatible motherboard and PSU now, which may result in slightly higher initial cost. It is doubtful I would buy a new Card before the whole system needed an update so no.. (OPTIONAL) Have you already looked at or considered any parts (it's okay if you haven't)? If so, please list your top 1-2 choices for each category. If you've only picked out a few of the below, just list those. CPU Probably an Intel CPU though I don't know i3 or i5 or anything about which ones. Motherboard Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX preferably a bundle at Microcenter if possible. Bluetooth and WiFi are huge pluses. RAM 8gb is more than plenty Graphics Card I've heard Nvidia is the way to go..but I really don't know. Power Supply no opinions Case I've narrowed down that I like the Thermaltake core V1 and the Corsair Carbide 240 though the corsair is a bit expensive. I am open to any and all other suggestions though Hard Drive Solid State Drive (optional) Honestly a 1TB with a 120GB SSD would be great...but it may be better just to go with a 120 SSD since it will all just be steam and the like. No other programs really. Mouse (if necessary) Keyboard (if necessary) Monitor (if necessary) Speakers/Headset (if necessary) I have all these, though it would be a big bonus if the MOBO had bluetooth and wifi. Once again, thank you in advannce for taking the time to answer these.

[0.90] Procedural Dynamics - Procedural Wing 0.9.3 Dec 24
Pyroyoshi replied to DYJ's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I am having a similar issue using the Mk2 LF+O fuselage from C7. I attempt to attach the wing and get nothing yet it is shown as green. Same thing happens with B9 wings as well. I hope there is a fix or something for this because I love my absurd procedural wings! Guess I shoulda read back further, I have near as well and that's probably what's doing it? -
[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
Pyroyoshi replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hey Ferram, I am having a strange problem and I don't know if it is a bug or something isn't right on my plane that is causing an issue. When I try to run any of the analysis tools in the editor all I get is a grid field with no lines being generated. If I run one of your craft files it works fine though. I have uploaded an imgur album with a screenshot of both so you can see what I mean. Also the plane picture does really well till I hit about 600m/s then acts very weird rolling and pitching with the slightest control input. http://imgur.com/a/npX63 Also, I don't know if has any effect but the wings and control surfaces are procedural dynamics.- 14,073 replies

I don't know of a better way to phrase this question but how would I go about getting my jet engines to display air as the resource shown in stage instead of liquid fuel? B9's SABRE does it but not the turbojet, which is the one I actually need. Below is a picture showing what I mean If you can point out what part of the CFG I need to copy and paste I can do that, anything more complicated may need a bit of tutorial.

[1.2] VOID 1.1.0-beta - Vessel Orbital Informational Display
Pyroyoshi replied to toadicus's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Quick Question Toadicus, would it be possible to get intake air required or something of that sort added to the vessel information screen? I am trying to get VOID to replace using mechjeb at all and this would be one piece of very useful information when flying spaceplanes.- 577 replies

[1.12.3+] RealChute Parachute Systems v1.4.9.5 | 20/10/24
Pyroyoshi replied to stupid_chris's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hey stupid_chris, I had a quick question about either an addition to this mod or maybe just some advice. I am trying to put your chutes on a couple of spaceplanes and I want them to come down onto their wheels, so i need some chutes near the nose and some near the tail. Now besides many many trials and errors is there any secret to placing these things? could we get something almost like RCS build aid + PWB fuel balancer; where you set the angle you want to come down at and it gives you a indicator when you have your chutes balanced? or even just an arrow indicating the angle you will be at with your current setup?
