  1. Yes, it was looking at Kerberos. Then it made a big turn and roll. Now its back on Pluto and holding still. Or that's what the sim says that its doing. http://eyes.jpl.nasa.gov/eyes-on-pluto.html
  2. Yeah, getting close. Been watching New Horizons "live" with NASA's Eyes. Looks like it turned its antenna toward Earth a bit ago. I wonder if there are pictures on the way. Guess we'll find out in about four hours or so.
  3. Thanks Spock, happy Kerbaling to you too. Keep the pointy end pointed towards space.
  4. I'm back playing after a few months break. Been a KSP fan long enough to have racked up an embarrassing 1,200+ hours according to steam. My first impression of 1.0 are really good. I like the way that this game has matured. Great job Squad. I still miss the launch tower and old SAS system. Hopefully there are still mods for that.
  5. The lander tweeted "Touchdown! My new address: 67P!"
  6. Cold gas thruster that fires when the harpoons to. They said it may not be working? Whats the travel time for signals from the lander to earth? 48min? It could be down now.
  7. I'm in work so can't hear any of the broadcast. Have they said anything more about the thruster that was not working?
  8. Doesn't sound like you're in sandbox ED. In sandbox you should have all the parts and not need to do any research. Like Van said, I'd try downloading again.
  9. Hi Sakai, Using the pictures you posted I've recreated your rocket as best I could and then tried to fly it. First thing I noticed was that those four SRBs are overkill. At 1000m the thing was going way too fast. Even with the main engine at 0 throttle. Without struts everything under the fairings does wobble too. So I took off two of the SRBs, ran struts from the second stage tank to the fairing base. It flew, I got it in orbit, USI parts and all. Had to be real careful pitching over though. I'd ditch the RCS thank and thruster on the fist stage altogether. Maybe put an SAS where the RCS tank was. Use a shorter 2.5m tank on the second stage. Procedural fairing are a a little bit easier to the use then the KW ones. If I can get some time tonight I'll work with your rocket some more. Take some screenies and send you a .craft file.
  10. Hi Sakai, Quick question. Are you using struts to brace whats under the fairings? I had I problem like yours once. I found that my problem was the payload under the fairs was wobbling. This sent my rockets off course and spinning sometimes.
  11. True, MJ uses more RCS then manual docking. Sometimes you can't see the thruster firing but they are.
  12. You could try going to the difficulty settings, click on indestructibly facilities. I'm not sure if that will bring the launch pad back. But maybe.
  13. And the Kraken said, "All your Space Centers are belonging to us!"
  14. How about an auto/manual option? So people who want to work the antenna manually can do that and people who want the antenna to work automagically can have that. I also think John FX has a good idea too. It would be nice to be able to open/extend the antennas in the VAB/SPH. So you can see what the craft looks like before its launched. Solar panels too.
  15. Hello Sakai, They easy way to get in to orbit is, straight up until 10,000m trying not to go faster than 250m/s, at 10,000m throttle up and slowly tilt over to 45 degrees, when the AP gets to 100km cut the engine, wait a moment, then make a node to circularize as best you can.
  16. Just goes to show. What we do on our PCs isn't that easy IRL.
  17. Yeah, something let go and took the rest out.
  18. Yeah, you're right there. That's how they keep their jobs.
  19. I feel sorry for the Wallop. They're not well known but have had a lot of successes.
  20. Anyone but NASA would have turned off the cameras long ago.
