  1. I have an interesting idea I'm working on, which could give both Spiritwolf and Hanland a near-identical mid-range armored missile cruiser. Spiritwolf might get the better end of the deal, though. Only if Macey agrees to the significant railroading it would impose, of course...
  2. Added to my hangar. I'm amassing quite the VTOL collection... Mostly because I can't build them myself
  3. It's actually remarkably well-balanced, though it has a tendency to pitch up ever so slightly which I'm trying to mitigate with the M3. ASAS can handle it without RCS assistance, but it's not perfect yet. I'll release craft files when I get it right. As far as fuel balance goes, it has two central tanks (a 200-16 and a 200-32), a 200-16 on top and bottom, and 200-32s left and right. M3 will have 200-32s all around, as well as hopefully a reduced part count. The "reactive" armor nodes are definitely staying, though. More in-depth pictures will be released with the M3 as well, so you can see how the engines are set up.
  4. Paradigm Industries commissioned Project Dominus specifically to aid Spiritwolf should things go south for their colonial endeavors. The part count WILL be far in excess of 300, not even including the launch vehicle, but I think reloadable SRBs and dashing good looks will make up for that. Prototypes can be found in the KIDI research thread. Will properly submit the craft once a suitable launch vehicle has been commissioned.
  5. That's quite the feat of engineering. I really need my Damned Robotics back... This might be the impetus I need, because I REALLY want one of these to play around with. It'd make a great tool to get Kerbals into tall rockets...

  7. I didn't post in the torpedo workshop thread because I thought it was dead... It's there now. Maybe better minds than mine can fix some of the issues with this system, like magazine wobble, and a practical service vehicle.
  8. At the behest of Rune, Paradigm Industries is reviving this research thread. In response to increased hostile activity within the Kerbol system, Paradigm Industries has commissioned its first capital ship under the name Project: Dominus. The primary goals for this testbed vessel are that of a standard military capital ship; range, durability, and logistical superiority, with one key difference. Project: Dominus is to be armed with reloadable SRB projectiles. Simulation testing has confirmed that the concept is sound, and logistically viable. The current simulated resupply vehicle does not currently take into account the transfer of fuel, only the restocking of Project: Dominus' six STAX SRB projectiles. Testing of the launch system gives the first SRB launched a superb atmospheric range, reaching the shore at 342 m/s after being released from its test rig. Prototypes for Project: Dominus are currently in drydock, and will be subjected to further experimentation once a suitable lift vehicle is commissioned. Note that although publicly released images incorporate a KW Rocketry Griffon engine, this configuration is for simulation purposes only, and all produced vessels will be free of module license requirements. The following image was cleared for release after news broke of the attack on the Spiritwolf Halcyon One colony on Laythe by the Hanland Corporation. It is the hope of Paradigm Industries that this image reach the appropriate Kerbals at Spiritwolf to facilitate reproduction of this design. Paradigm Industries is currently forbidden by the greater Corporation to actively aid any other known space program currently engaged in hostile activities within the Kerbol system, but our hearts and minds go out to our brothers and sisters on Laythe. Directly reproduced from the KIDI research thread.

  10. It's certainly... unique. Don't think I've seen a tailplane like that before. What the heck, I'll stick it in my hangar. Looks pretty sweet. I'll have to put those missiles through their paces for sure.
  11. Ha! I always thought that would work, but I couldn't engineer it properly. Now that the proof-of-concept is actually built, MASS RELAY AHOY! Many Kerbals lost to the void I foresee..
  12. New, from Paradigm Industries, a brand-spankin-new* orbital fuel depot! Following the trend of using standard Greek-alphabet naming conventions, the Utility Station Gamma is fully stocked for supporting missions to the Mun, Minimus, and beyond! What appears to be an elaborate space-gatling-gun is actually a cluster of atomic rocket motors, aimed harmlessly** into outer space. These rocket motors allow the station to be positioned anywhere in Kerbin's sphere of influence, and quite possibly other nearby celestial bodies as well when fully fueled. Drone tankers (not pictured) supply the station with all the rocket fuel its crew can drink***. Should a mission deplete the station's fuel reserves, the two "Big Ornj's" docked to the sides of the station can be removed and de-orbited using leftover fumes and RCS. New, full tanks can be sent from Kerbin on their own dedicated non-reusable launch vehicles. For long-term missions, Gamma can support a crew of 15 Kerbals in three Hitchhiker modules and three "Panoptican" cupolas. For best results, orient the station anti-Kerbol at sunrise to prevent cases of flash-blindness. (Paradigm Industries is not responsible for incidents of flash-blindness as a result of improper station orientation.) Reproduction schematics are currently being processed by our exports division. * Based on the Temstar Olympus Propellant Depot. Prototypes constructed in early .19. We have fired the marketing editor who approved the use of the word 'new' twice in one sentence. Okay, fine, it was completely stolen from Temstar, we just took some greebles off and stuck it on the end of a command hub. ** Significant radiation is emitted from the engine cluster both while active and inactive. Do not EVA behind engine cluster. *** Do not drink rocket fuel under any circumstances. Ever. "Big Ornj" is a name Jenzor came up with, and is not a trademark of Paradigm Industries. "Panoptican" may be mistranslated. This trademark formerly held by KSPX is now public domain. Please don't sue our pants off.
  13. Well, that's the basics, straight from the expert. I'll try to keep those points in mind, but is there any reason you can think of why space planes would flip forward rapidly with a CoL in what has been stated as an optimal position?
  14. So I used to be able to build airworthy spaceplanes. I placed the CoL near the CoM, as is the norm, and they flew fine. Now when I make spaceplanes, placing the CoL near the CoM, they refuse to leave the runway until my velocity is 190 m/s or greater, and then they faceplant. I know it's not as simple as lining up the CoL and the CoT with the CoM, but there must be something fundamental I'm missing. After looking at the Kerbalife spaceplane line and Zokesia Skunkworks (and after extensive independent testing) I've determined there's little to no correlation with where the CoL is in relation to the CoM in terms of getting the spaceplane off the ground and stable. So what's the secret?
  15. Okay, that thing is terrifying. And I was so proud of my dinky little space station... It looks like the love-child of a VT-49 Decimator and the Rogue Shadow. That's not a bad thing, by the way.
  16. Odd. Every time I build Mainsail stacks like that, the engines just shake themselves off, or they crush the center tank once the fuel runs out. I need to vivisect that rocket if yours...
  17. It probably does fit better, I just liked the idea of Jeb riding a robot's head. And bonus points if you can actually land it on another celestial body. I can't figure out how to get it spaceworthy. Actually, I haven't launched anything of note recently.
  18. Sweet. Beautiful recreation. And if you kick the throttle up you can simulate its real, explosive demise. Just imagine a tiny plane got sucked into its wake vortex... That's a little morbid, huh?
  19. New, from Paradigm Industries (formerly Silverlight Solar Solutions), the JN-5 DunaBuggy! Isn't our marketing department so creative and witty? The JN-5 was originally built as a high-impact, long range terrestrial rover for scientific missions to Duna and beyond. However, when Jebediah spotted the drone in the proving grounds, he demanded that he be able to "Ride Johnny Five". So we slapped a few metal tubes, two foot pedals, and a pair of non-functional doohickeys on the top, and Jeb was none the wiser. Here's the JN-5 demonstrating its off-road capabilities. To the extreme. Dude. Do not, under any circumstance, allow Jebediah to attempt turning the probe at over 20m/s. It's not pretty. Now with 62% more craft file! http://www./download/n51pe92gz87inrr/JN-5+DunaBuggy.craft

  21. I've been needing a nice-looking SSTO for a while now, and I'm just terrible at them. Post a .craft file and let us take this beautiful bird out flying. I also kinda want to tear it apart to see what makes it tick...

Made in under 30 minutes at the Houston Lego KidsFest. Not the best, but I did what I could without any 2x1 bricks. Those darn kids... I wasn't the oldest one there by far, but I sure felt like it. Anyway, Lego KSP. Kinda makes me want to break out all my old Lego and do a full-size with proper curves... If only I had those lime-green bricks.
  23. Wow. I totally need those Tri Hexagonal struts. My Munar habitation module is sitting at a little over 200 parts adding in aesthetic paneling, and those struts kill two birds with one stray decoupler.
  24. It can be incredibly useful, and realistic if used to place small parts inside struts. And occasionally you get that weird attachment glitch where rockets won't stick to decouplers unless you attach them somewhere else first, so part clipping helps with that too.
