  1. Welcome to the forums! And I believe it's your first 5 posts. After that you should be golden.
  2. Sign me up! Name: Xiphos World: Duna or Jool System Character name: Herndon Kerman I have a lot of experience flying, building, landing, etc. all stock and would like a decent challenge. I always aim to make the smallest vehicles possible to keep part counts low.
  3. That's excellent Sameuel! Congrats! I'm glad my video helped
  4. Someone posted there must be a way for someone to win this challenge? I think Stochasty just did haha. Wow....
  5. haha, exactly what i was going to type! Welcome! Happy landings!
  6. Hi and Welcome! Congrats on your accomplishments! Precise landings take lots of practice. Try to use F5(quicksave) and F9 (quicksave reload) so you can try the landing again. (A good place to get practice doing precise landings is on minimus, because you can use the same ships to get there and the gravity is low so landing is easier) Also, when you get 5 posts, you can change your sig and avatar no worries. Also, that docking port in the picture is on backwards....Happy landings!
  7. To use the least amount of fuel, adjust for an inclination change at the ascending or decending node on your way to the planet. (whichever one is the closest) Next, as soon as you enter the SOI of the planet, put a maneuver node down and you will notice it takes very LITTLE Dv to adjust orbital inclination as well as changing your Pe to do a nice aerobrake! Also, don't forget to quicksave (F5) when you enter the SOI incase you aerobrake too much!
  8. The stages are activated from the bottom of the screen to the top. Ignore the numbers.
  9. for me right now clouds are the biggest thing because you can see them as you look out the VAB and then they're not really there....it'll come someday
  10. I'm going out on a limb here but I'd say your probe is running out of power. Stick an RTG on there and you should be good to go.
  11. If you take what you have in your center stage, and copy that for a 6 stage asparagus rocket you will get that into a 100km orbit with plenty of fuel to spare. Also anything you can do to make the rocket 'shorter' will help. ie: that LV-N really isn't necessary because for the power/weight you can swap it out for something more suited for the task of just docking. You want to be able to do strong, powerful burns to cancel your velocity to match a ship instead of a really long, drawn out burn. And as far as the rotation, add more struts going around your outer booster stages. I think that should help.
  12. Yes! welcome to the forums!
  13. Hi and welcome! congrats on getting to the mun! I hope your rescue mission goes well!
  14. Hello Whitefrost and welcome to KSP! You can 'fine tune' the placement of parts in the SPH and VAB by holding shift and using wasd and qe keys. Hope this helps!
  15. 30 minutes will go by quick! I would try to keep it to things that are entertaining....maybe something you haven't tried before or something risky.
  16. oh, we must see pictures! And welcome by the way
  17. Did anyone else see he paid $18? Thought it was $23 something??
  18. yeah! build a rocket, and land it horizonatally into a contraption, highest speed without exploding wins!
  19. NeoMorph I use solidworks on a daily basis, and could model a nav ball or anything else for that matter if you're interested in going that route. Let me know.
  20. Honestly, this game is still in Alpha, Alaskafish. To expect something like you are suggesting is a tall order for any development team in this stage of development. Key word there is 'development'. There are draw-backs to developing a game, and 'breaking' your saves is one of them. We are extremely lucky that we have the ability to work with the development teams and shape how this game turns out. Why not keep the version you have your large stations on, and continue enjoying the new releases on a separate install? Anything you have to do over from a new version will just make you more efficient at whatever task that is. I am expecting my saves to be broken many more times before the final release. And is that a big deal? It shouldn't be since the game is getting better and better with every release. And I don't believe anything is a 'waste of time' if you gained experience from doing it. The more you build and pilot your own craft, the better you will be. See the new release as a new challenge, not a set back.
  21. If your lander for duna can make orbit around kerbin, you will have enough Dv to take off from duna and return to kerbin easily. With fuel to spare.
  22. Korlis, You should make a duna station with dedicated reusable lander to take kerbals to the surface base and back to the station with ease! That way, your trips there won't have to include the whole lander assembly each time.
  23. Welcome to the forums! Glad to see your missions are going well. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask, everyone is real friendly around here.
  24. While you wait just try and think about how amazing the final game is going to be if they take so much time and effort into each and every release! That's what keeps me going
  25. Ooohhh you mean engines like unity? haha I lost you there I thought you were talking about the KSP rocket engines haha. Welcome anyway and enjoy this amazing game!
