  1. Too bad there's no wind in KSP to make them realistic... Also- Lack, can you maybe make a 2X2-to-2x1 short adapter? I've been making this (possibly overly complicated) Munar Base that's gonna be a test-bed for my future Duna colony and the "care package" (includes one Automated Kethane Mining Unit, a Kethane converter and a manned rover/buggy with a KAS arm, along with some KAS containers) really needs to use the 2x2 cargo hold...
  2. Yeah... Powering a thermal jet with nukes isn't all that great, I've learnt... Apparently KIWIs weren't meant to fly... Not even in the Kerbal universe...
  3. What he said. Balance your RCS, brah! Use the RCS Balancer, it comes handy...
  4. Eh... I generally use MJ only if I need to be precise (docking, rendezvous, precise-time transfers, that sort of thing)... I also tend to use it for rocket ascent before grav turns and after atmospheric escape, manoeuvre node tracking when doing burns... Most of my planes I fly manually, though I sometimes let MJ fly-by-wire (using smart SAS, not spaceplane guidance) and just punch in pitch/roll and heading... Much like most modern flight... Probably helps that I'm a pilot IRL...
  5. Not really... MechJeb has been nothing but a pure perfectionist since 2.1. At least on my end... I've come to trust him with my ship entirely when docking/rendezvousing. It's been so good that I tend to just leave it on for longer manoeuvres. By the time I have my tea (earl grey, hot) MechJeb's usually done with docking and I'm like... "Oh wow... That was fast..." The problem I was having was due to the fact I was trying to make two extendible berthing ports kiss... You might imagine their reluctance, both being... Um... Erect... Exchanged the one on the shuttle with a normal berthing port and we're good as gold! MechJeb even parked it the right way I wanted! Although I find his obsession with phasing orbits a bit too much... Really... I set a good 555 km orbit and he goes on to change it to 556 km. Really MJ... That 1 kilometre of extra phase time that important?!
  6. There seems to be something off with the extendible berthing port... Whenever I try to dock something with it (using MechJeb's autopilot)... Bad things happen... Either colisons and 'splosions or the vessels just don't want to kiss and the autopilot tries to force it by just ramming with RCS, causing spinning of stations and... well... more 'splosions...
  7. And here I thought I was having fun with B9 gears skiing-off when your TWR is over 10... Sir, I cannot wait to try your skids!
  8. Skids are generally used on aircraft in snowy conditions, water landings (though pontoons are more common). For ground landings, a skid would normally have a wheel inside of it...
  9. My idea is for an orbital engine, so lift-off capability is irrelevant*. I'm also looking for only antimatter use, and perhaps some sort of reaction-stabilizer that's renewable. The basic idea is for something that can go on long missions without refuel. Re-supply would still be necessary for the crew, of course... *The mode would be most useful outside the presence of atmosphere. This is also intended for craft not intended for atmospheric flight.
  10. What about an engine that uses antimatter in a fusion reaction and then uses the heat/energy for power? Basically, a thermal jet running on atmospheric without the atmosphere requirement...
  11. Awesome... Also, how would skids work? I'm assuming they're for VTOLs, right?
  12. Can't wait for 0.7.5... Also- is there any chance of getting an omni-engine (one that runs well both in atmosphere and in space) that uses antimatter for fuel?
  13. Hey Lack, do any of your Hull parts allow for crew? I know I can just check that but I'm not on my KSP computer and just had this interesting idea... Also- Am I right in assuming the corridor and extendible berthing ports can be used for docking?
  14. Haven't played a sandbox game since 0.22 came but I think they just start-off upgraded...
  15. I'll skim over it now... I'm trying to actually make the Data Storage module to work right now and at the same time learning C#... Fun times... Also, half hour ascent with a SSTO, building the Cabana Corp. Facility...
  16. So is there any profit from higher orbits? I wanna set-up some geosync satellites... Also Damny, can I take a look at that science generation code?
  17. Just copy and paste the modules from the SCAN scanners into the .cfg of the Kethane detector...
  18. Scott Manley's doing a play-through with KSPI along with other mods... You can use that as a "tutorial"...
  19. Took me awhile to find where this was... Thank you for the awesome parts!
  20. Well, guess it's my turn to share... Today the deployment of the Kerbin-wide Navigational Satellite Network by Cabana Corp. has been started. Introducing SAT-Nav I. Brought up to a 25 degree, roughly circular 430 km orbit by the Cabana Corp. Orbital Service & Supply Shuttle (ID K-3669). It's the first Cabana Corp. dedicated Satellite (previous topography information was supplied by the Orbital Laboratory, now decommissioned) as well as the first successful mission involving the K-3669. Release from K-3669 cargo hold. Deployment of solar panels and extension of Kethane sensor boom, along with Satellite Up-Link antennae. The K-3669 leaves SAT-Nav I after successful deployment and system test.
  21. I seriously don't know what you're talking about... Both reactors and generators allow surface attachment on my end...
