The double wings are a leftover from the heavy lift/ Duna K-17 I based it on. (Helps with shorter takeoff and landings) Very little (I.e. none) calculations went into lift or drag or any of that, this one was all for style. Flys really well though.

I don't always fly on interplanetary missions. But when I do, I choose LV-N nuclear engines. Stay radioactive my friends.

Totally intentional, not-crash related Mun Base. (it makes electricity and holds fuel, so it counts...)

I like the idea of different abandoned ships/stations in space and on planets. Maby have 2-3 major wrecks in the solar system (like a space freighter crashed in the middle of an Evean ocean, or a massive abandoned arc-like ship in some large, eccentric orbit) and a dozen or so smaller abandoned/wrecked ships scattered around (or the TARDIS:D).

Made my first interplanetary trip to EVE. And made it on the first try hello there beautiful First Evean sunset And yes, I do plan on putting a K-17 on every planet (except Jool), working on an electric one now.

well I have had three successful mun landings/returns (and one failure/Mun base) and it is able to survive re-entry and land. So if I can make a K-17 electric that flies on Kerbin, I think I may have a successful interplanetary prop spaceplane (next stop, K-17 on Duna)

I actually didn't even think of that. I'll try that and see if I can fly to Duna... In style (because Jeb is all about style)

The Maiden Voyage of the K-17 Interplanetary "Ozzy" This doesn't look sketchy at all.. TO THE MUN! a very happy Kerbal I have an idea miscalculated the amount of oxidizer i'd need. soooo... umm... HORRAY! the "Ozzy" mun base is a success! rescue K-17 MKII (more oxidizer, landing lights, and landing gear) landed close by SUCCESS!
