  1. That's usually what I end up doing. Its just easy to overshoot. I often use MJ to plan maneuvers even if I don't use it to perform them and when I switch to another entity I can't see the "time to node". Also it deletes the node.
  2. When I'm setting up a burn to another planet I will generally head into an orbit that lets me use the 1Mx time warp while I wait for the correct phase angles for the transfer. I know the Oberth effect makes this less efficient, but by how much?
  3. Over there with Percy Weasley in the at the "no fun allowed" table
  4. 3-5 minutes. I usually double click the icon and then go make a sandwich.
  5. My current one Infinite props to anyone who recognizes it >
  6. Welp, I'm in the middle of refueling my mining rig on Minmus (lower escape velocity and higher in the gravity well than the Mun) before it joins the space station and fuel shuttle on the way to Jool where they will be inserted around Vall. With all that gas so close by I might finally be able to land on Tylo. Maybe I'll also fly a spaceplane out to Laythe with those sweet SABRE engines in the new B9 pack and have some fun landing on islands
  7. Pretty much this. Vall is my next location for a mining base/orbital fuel depot
  8. Done that already and that involves little more than setting up an orbit then using my netbook to go on imgur while I kill time
  9. Hm. I'll give it a shot tonight with some HOME modules.
  10. As awesome as this and the base it's... based on are, I fear the part count would be too high for my wimpy computer to handle :-/ Thats what always sinks my mega-stations and consequently why my current one is so compact
  11. I think you misinterpreted my post. I'm not at all dissatisfied nor am I blaming Squad. I'm just looking for suggestion because I've hit a wall creatively and I want to find a new, fun direction to go with what is already an awesome game.
  12. I just finished my munar orbital fuel depot and gassed it all up from 2 kethane mines but now I'm at a loss for what to do with it. I could take it to duna or eve (gilly) and keep mining kethane but what is the point? I've started to run into problems with the open endedness of the game. I'm really looking forward to career mode so I have more concrete goals With the shuttle attached, it's 59% fuel and runs on poodles so it has almost 4km/s of dV but I don't think it would make it to Jool. Any ideas?
  13. Joining the "Squad Rules!!" CJ I'm happy to support in any way I can but if you need a cash infusion, may I suggest adding kerbalizer support into the next release? I'd happily throw down a few bucks for me to fly with custom kerbals
  14. So correct path ends up as "KSP_win/GameData/KSPX/parts/[control, propulsion, etc]"?
  15. So it should be "KSP_win/GameData/kethane/[parts, plugins and resources]" or just "KSP_win/GameData/[parts, plugins and resources]" I'm assuming nothing goes into the "KSP_win/GameData/Squad" directory Sorry for the noob question, I cannot into computers all that well
  16. Where'd you get that sig? Did you make it or did you use a generator?

  17. Oh I know it's a big deal. I'm just surprised/skeptical that you can get hydrogen inclusions from a piece of metal being immersed in liquid diatomic hydrogen. I get monoatomic atomic hydrogen making its way into a workpiece in casting or welding since the high temperature would disassociate the H2 but cryogenic LH2 seems unlikely to behave the same way. *shrug* I'm not an expert on the subject. That's why I'm asking. My background is straight chem with only a basic familiarity with MSE
  18. I gotta try that. I was going nuts trying to get to Moho to explore the polar craters and had to resort to using kind of broken hybrid engines (LF+Oxy+xenon+electricity) to get a ship with 9ish km/s of dV so I could get there.
  19. ARGH! Please stop repeating this. It is NOT true for the F/A-18 or any other aircraft. IIRC he myth started because a SR-71 prototype leaked fuel on the ground but they fixed that in later models by using a elastic bladder as a fuel tank liner to allow for expansion. Sorry, pet peeve of mine. /nerd rage. Got a source on that? I wouldn't think that LH2 would spontaneously disassociate allowing individual atoms to seep into the metal.
  20. Oh man, I... I need this. Can someone with modding skills make one? It would be perfect for use with ion engines that require tons of electricity for another level of higher ISP lower thrust. Also for Kethane conversion in the outer solar system. If it ever got included in the game it would have to come pretty far along in the career mode, maybe one step before an FTL drive
  21. It definitely used to. They dropped the units around sometime before .17 (perhaps because they made no sense)
