Yes. A rather violent decompression sounds more logical in such an environment.

Eeeeeeeeeerh... For an asteroid to contain large enough amounts of frozen methane seems unlikely. If it does, it more than likely would also contain large amounts of other volatile ices and would resemble a comet more than an asteroid. Asteroids tend to be more rocky.
That depends on the origin of the asteroid. And of the line one draws between comets and asteroids (wich is controverse among astronomers).
But I agree, it is unlikely for an asteroid to contain large amounts of hydrocarbons, but not impossible from a astrochemical point of view.
FCISuperGuy brought up an interesting point though: if it's an industrial accident you might actually be able to sidestep the problem entirely. Rather than blowing up a naturally occuring resource such as methane, you might just as well blow up a fuel supply or something else that was brought along by the inhabitants. Don't know if that would fit with the rest of your story of course.
Yep. I just had a similar idea, like Acetylene for welding purposes.

As said above, remember fire (and therefore explosions) needs 3 things: ignition, fuel, and oxygen.
ignition, reducer and oxidizer, if I may interfer.
And oxidizer must not be oxygen.
For example hydrogen an chlorine make very fine detonations in absence of oxygen.
But to OP: It is possible for an astroid to contain significant amouts of solid methane, wich may sublimate and react with an oxidizer.
The question is: what oxidizer is there? Is the asteroid mine pressurized and under breathable atmosphere? If yes a detonation after a sublimation might occur/is thinkable.

Yes, there are some people who will use "there's a mod for that" for a variety of unstated purposes:
* To remind the requester they didn't invent the idea they're asking for
* To remind them that at least some solution exists that they or someone they respect worked hard to implement in some really cool way
* To remind the user that, if a mod exists, there is a decent chance the devs are aware of the level of demand for a feature.

But on the whole, it's just a problem with online communication. Too many words and you lose people: too few and you lose meaning. People tend to err towards the latter: it takes less work.
Not signed. Just read through the replies of the Dev Notes from August, 12th. The notes were nearly without content, no way around. But the replies were harsh.
And there are several other threads, where communication uses a lot of words and the semantics used were biased unfriendly. Of course this is a personal point of view.
Point is, the mood in the forums changed somewhere between 0.23 and 0.24. And I do not feel convinient with that.

OP has simply brought up the annoying 'mod for that' posts in the SUGGESTIONS area of the forum.
I have to agree. In the last few weeks the mood here is going quite grumpy here.
Not that I would agree with the OP, as it is ok to state that there is a mod for this and/or that.
But after all it's not what one says, but how one says it. And the overall bias is feeling aggressive.

This is a dev note worth the title, what I missed for a long time.
It gave a feeling about what is going on and seeds a feeling of curiosity, what the next update will be about in detail.
So - thank you for giving a note that does not feel like "dev note content is for the weak".

I agree Alshain, Dizzle and the Mechanic.
KSP is such a creativ (and often contemplative) game, I think I would quit from frustration, if a mission or vessel is destroyed/sabotaged by others just for fun.
With a few friends: yes. MMO: definetly no. But most of the time I honestly want to enjoy the game alone and then share some YAY-Moments via videos or screenshots with the community.

I had not one crash since I bought this game. Sorry, I have a lot of fun with this game. I admit that I don't use mods.
But your question was about fun playing KSP. Not about fun playing modded KSP. At least, I understood your posting like this.
If I misunderstood you, you probably phrase your rant more precise.

Aus meiner Sicht absolut legitim. Ich mache das auch so, wenn ich auf Teufel komm raus LOX sparen will und es auf den einen oder anderen Tropfen RCS nicht ankommt.
Von dem Zeug hat man eh immer zuviel dabei.
Kollisions-Abwehr immer so früh wie möglich. Je mehr versuche man hat, desto gut.
Es ist halt ne Frage der Ressourcen. Hat man Zeit und Geld: Abfangen ausserhalb des Kerbin SOI. Hat man keine Zeit (weil man einfach nicht nach Steinen im Weltall guckt), dann im Kerbin SOI.

Hi there.
As contracting just for sake of contracting I did try to scroll through the available contract list in mission control by using the arrow keys "up" and "down".
Obviously that didn't work.
So I would suggest to implement such a feature in a way, that if a given contract is highlighted, one may use the arrow keys instead of a mouse click for viewing the details of the contracts above and below. (of course that means not to disable mouse clicking ).

Naja. Sie haben auch gesagt, Multiplayer wird nie ins Spiel kommen und jetzt ist es doch im Scope.
Ich würde mal sagen, wir werden sehen, was alles reinkommt, wenn sie "feature complete" verkünden.
Ansonsten bin ich mal gespannt, was dieses neue Administrative Building so an Funktionalität haben wird.
Ich würde mir für 0.25 wünschen, dass zu Asteroiden noch Kometen hinzu kämen.
Und dass SQUAD eine Möglichkeit findet, Mikrogravitation (also mini-SOIs) für Asteroiden und Kometen einzubauen. Das fände ich für mich was Feines.

It is really a shame, that this mission doesn't get at least some media or tv coverage.
I am following the mission since 2004. And this is really a master piece of remote controlled space technology.
I am looking forward to mid november, when the lander makes contact to the comet.
Surely I would give a months income to attend the landing in Colonge control center, where the DLR does the microgravity landing maneuvers.

Oh. I admit, I am proud.
Several weeks ago I did my first SSTO space plane (1 crew). After many hours of refining I present the ExS-Class KSC-To-Orbit-Shuttle with 3 crew members in flight over Kerbin.
I now go celebrate and eat some snack. \o/
EDIT: Completely Stock, no part clipping, 0.24.2, career mode, payed by KISE.
