  1. These are big, but I'm gonna throw them up here anyway in case you guys are running heavy comps. This is my assembled Laythe fuel depot. Jet and Xenon fuel as well. Pro: It could run your operations for a LONG time. Booster modules are probed, and can decouple and de orbit once destination is reached to drop part count. Con: Takes me about 5 hours to assemble. If you ever have need of a heavy cruiser, I offer my BC-01 series. This is the Broadsword. It can carry a total of 32 smart torps, 2 SRB rockets (can be equipped for 4), and 2 decoupler/sepratron batteries. Also capable of carrying cargo. Pro: Enough fuel for a round trip to Laythe and back. Moar missiles! Con: Can only be launched with SRB munitions equipped. Launch is unorthodox. Stable orbit ends with a 75kPE / 480kAP. It also is left with about 500 units of it's own fuel. Must be fueled and armed in orbit.
  2. After unmanned testing to Duna and then on to Jool, and a few design tweaks later, Jeb has finally commandeered The BC-01A Broadsword. He got a little crazy and stared straight like this for about two minutes. I wonder what he's so fixated on? Oh...yeah, should have know he'd like the es'plody things... Fully fueled after draining 4 fuel drones in LKO and my abandoned Mun station. Fully armed with 18 smart torpedoes, 6 hardened sepratron projectiles, and 2 SRB rockets. Side docking ports also allow it to carry mission dependent cargo, in this case, more fuel for my Laythe station.
  3. Ha! You might be on to something.... I cashed out on the ammunition shortage going on (in the US...incase you're not from the states). I had bought 5,000 rounds of .223 ammo at $130 per 1,000 rounds a few years ago. Sold 2k of it for $1,000 last month just so I could upgrade my computer.
  4. That's not a PC melter It's only 1023 parts! . Now this....this is a PC melter.....
  5. Jeb saying farewell do his last ship. He, as well as all crew and weaponry, will be transferred over to my newer, larger and more efficient cruiser. The "Triangle of Doom" will then be blow'd up. I hope. It's proven quite resilient with three - four layers of armor over sensitive areas. Even took an SRB to the hull and was still operational.
  6. Mine is the same way. I just manually transfer fuel to forward tanks after I've dialed down my approach. I'm working on another, more maneuverable variant, with four retrograde burning LV-N's on the bow so that should handle even better.
  7. The crazy thing is, despite it weighing 300 tons and being six Jumbo-64 tanks long, it was the easiest out of all my ships to get into orbit. Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with over 8000dv, lol.
  8. This is all your fault, donlokiman. But I must say, big boats are kinda fun to build! No idea what to call it...
  9. Three more currently I'm working on. Talon Cruiser: Marauder Frigate: Sabre Escort:
  10. I'd be just as happy with a Mun surface assembly station. Mine for materials to build ships from there. More "realistic" imo.
  11. 477 Parts. 271 tons. And yes it's Laythe capable, and then some. 3300m/s dv with the Mainsail engaged (if you're impatient) or 7000m/s dv with it disabled. It's got a bit of range...
  12. Ok, I have one in orbit. Not as big and mean as I was going for, but the best I can get up without mods. It's a bit tricky to fly due to fuel balance issues in the ascent stage (requires manual transfers), but it points straight and doesn't spin. If you want it, I can fly it up. Done it 5 consecutive times with success. The Talon: - Crew of 5 - Four 3-Shot Hardened Decoupler Cannons - Six Smart RCS Missiles in Cargo Hanger - Two Smart Solid Rockets - 14800 Liquid Fuel - Six LVN-1 Engines - One Rockomax Mainsail
  13. So, exactly How laggy is it around Laythe now-a-days? I should hyperedit my 2400 part battle cruiser over to another moon, let you guys have fun destroying it.
  14. Purple Kerbals. They can't be trusted....
  15. I'm not sure if I can get my ship into orbit. Something in the design is causing the game to crash. I've tried 2 different launch vehicles and a 2 different computers, but still between 2-4km during launch "KSP.exe caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module KSP.exe at 0023:00419079." Every. Freaking. Time. I've launched larger crafts before, so I think it's on the craft itself, as I removed the launch stage and strapped 2 mainsails with unlimited fuel and still got the error.. Maybe I have something clipped that's causing the issue.
  16. Part Count Is 520. Is There A Limit? I Do Get Kinda Carried Away With Aesthetic, Lol. The Ascent Stage Is Hooked To The Side "Wings." The Only Issue I'm Having Is Balance. The Craft Is Heavier Topside, So On Launch It Tends To Roll Over. Should Be Ann Easy Enough Fix With Ballasts, But I Have Not Had Time To Tweak It Today. The Wing Parts Aren't Helping Much Either, But If I Use Structual Panels In Their Place The Part Count And Weight Go Up A Good Amount. Octo, Thanks! Can You Post A File To Your Reloadable Decouple Setup? Maybe I Can Engineer Your Monting Configuration Onto My Ship. Sorry For The Caps On Every word...My Phone Does This On All Forums For Some Reason.
  17. Here's the prototype: I think I made more of a Gunship than a Cruiser. Working on the launch vehicle now. It's VERY manuverable with RCS on. 205t and 5000dv (I can add more fuel if needed) without munitions with the exception twin 18 shot decoupler/saparatron cannons at the front. Hardpoints for 12 Smart Missiles behind the observation center and bays for 4 anti-capital ship Smart Missiles on the sides. Not that you'll need any of that. Bob says looking this thing head should be enough to Make potential rivals soil themselves. Of course it may have had something to do with Jeb pushing buttons while Bob was snapping this picture of the new ride:
  18. I have a couple types of light cruisers built, but the "reloadable SRBs" part is a nightmare. Those things flex so much under every form of docking I've tried I can never get them to fly straight.
  19. They Won't Destroy A Structural Panel, But The Impact Will Make Them Wobble. I've Noticed If I Launch A Volley At One Of My Larger Armored Crafts, The Big One Pictured For Instance, A Separatron Or Decoupler Will Slip In Through A Crack Following A Previous impact And Hit Something Vital, Blowing The Ship Apart From The Inside. It's Pretty Cool To Watch! Or Just Aim For An Exposed Nuke Engine And Be Done With It. Boom!
  20. Two more. A small fighter and a work in progress. The fighter and launch vehicle can be downloaded HERE. It's stock.
  21. Mine is big and it flies, but it had to be cheated into orbit. Yours may not fly, but it is a more war-like looking replica and you actually put it into orbit legitimately. They're both pretty awesome!
  22. My WIP. Based off the StarCraft Battlecruiser. 2085 parts and pushing 700t. I named it "Meltdown" for obvious reasons. Currently the only armament only 14 smart missiles. Mods are the ION Hybrid Pack and MechJeb.
  23. My first attempt at a combat based spacecraft. Seven (7) shot decoupler/sepratron cannon on the nose, two mount points on the nose, and 4 mount points for smart missiles on the underside. It is a "figher" so there is plenty of RCS thrusters and RCS fuel to get you pointed in the right direction FAST! There are also two blocks of linear RCS thrusters on the nose (Toggled on/off with "0")...incase you're coming in a little too hot and need to get on the "brakes." Be sure to check out the "Very Kerbal" ejection system; Stage 2 & 1. Fire them sequentially. Do not combine them. Otherwise it will only work 10% of the time instead of the expected 50% ) The launch vehicle is good to a 80km stable orbit. It gets a bit tricky past 25km as it develops the spins. Ignore the spinning, she'll hold together. Just fight with WSAD to keep the gimble somewhere in the blue until you drop the second set of mainsails, and then it will be pretty easy to get back on course. Also, the name does not only apply to the shape! It does possess some traveling capabilities as well. Over 2000dv on the craft itself. Craft File: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bqp6hu5of4bjrz4/Delta%20V1%20%28Stock%29.craft
  24. The ship itself is about 95% complete. I just need to brace the center beam a bit better. I think I'm getting a bit too much wobble in that area on launch and I lose control when I try to gravity turn. I'm at 1412 parts and just under 600 tons. There are some modded hybrid ION engines on there right now cause they fit perfect. I'll remove them for the challenge.
  25. My Parts Count Will Probably Around 1000 When I Finish. It's Pretty Solid, So I'm Going Ti Try To Launch It....If My Computer Will Allow It!
