Different Map Display Modes
SteevyT replied to SteevyT's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Ok, I went through and took pictures of all five modes. Here they are. Mode 1 The default mode we are used to. Mode 2 Rather than the initial SOI change being connected, it shows the exit being connected. Otherwise it is exactly the same as mode 1. Mode 3 Draws path as one connected line. Seems to show path in space relative to largest sphere of influence. Mode 4 Um.....I have no idea what to say about it, this is what it looks like though. Mode 5 Seems to somehow show paths relative to the ship in its current position. The path the ship takes in the Mun\'s SOI is kind of under the icon for the ship. -
Here is the article, with things such as 'The Lunar Escape System,' 'The Personal Rescue Enclosure,' and 'MOOSE.' http://www.cracked.com/article_19545_6-terrifying-emergency-escape-pods-that-arent-worth-it.html

Are you using the pylons as lateral decouplers? I think they have fuel crossfeed enabled. If you are tagging to the side with fuel crossfeed parts, they will draw from the farthest up tank they can.

If I remember correctly, there are 4 different\' display modes for patched conics in the map. However, the descriptions are slightly less than helpful, I just can\'t visualize them. Does anyone have screenshots of the different modes? I\'ll put them in this thread if I get some before others post.

Use MechJeb in surface mode and leave it on whatever angle you want to hold and go do something else until a: you crash or b: the game crashes?

Just a few checklists that go into a successful mission...
SteevyT replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in KSP1 Discussion
1. Stick parts to pod. 2. Click launch. 3. Push buttons. Did they survive? If yes, then it was a success. If no, then I succeeded at learning something. -
I have started setting up boom trucks with cameras along the runway. Unfortunately I can\'t get them any larger without the launchpad glitching out on me, there are some angles I want that I just can\'t get without finding a way to make a longer boom.

Do these count? Record title: World\'s Tallest Tower Camera Truck Record Statistic: Approxomately 10-15 meters taller than the launch tower. (Anyone know how to set a number to this?) Game version when record achieved: 0.15.2 Screenshots: Mods used: MechJeb http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=14066.0 Fixed Camera http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=14009.0 Damned Robotics http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=10662.0 Tosh\'s Cart http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=8431.0 Record title: World\'s Longest Boom Camera Truck Record Statistic: I need help measuring this. Game version when record achieved: 0.15.2 Screenshots: Mods used: Same as above Edit: I made a larger boom camera truck.

[0.19] Multiversal Mechatronics - Fixed Camera - 1.3
SteevyT replied to r4m0n's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I\'m having fun with these things. I have multiple angles of the launch pad covered. Now I\'m trying to set them along the runway, it is kind of tricky getting them over the runway though, I really would like to put a longer boom on the trucks, but I am afraid it will tip if I do. -
I was just about to say the same thing. Maybe when I get a computer that can run the game and produce decent video while doing it.
-
All I can see happening in multiplayer is bunches of people trying to do synchronized skydiving with the grapple. Or maybe tying as many vehicles together as possible. Now that I think about it, why isn\'t there a multiplayer?

What if you could somehow map pulling up or pushing down on the RCS translate stick to moving up and down?

I am having fun with the placeable cameras mod. I am getting some good shots with them. My recent Mun landing. Breaking stage falling away. Touchdown nearing. A couple pictures on the surface. I have the cameras mounted on rotatrons. Having fun with the cameras I placed around the launch pad. I need to do a similar setup with the runway. I want to run some on booms over the runway for some overhead shots as I run a plane down the runway. First, some pictures from the camera I parked right at the corner of the launch pad. One from about half a kilometer away from the launchpad. Here are a couple shots from a camera I have parked slightly over a kilometer away. And finally, my favorite shot, the tower camera. Originally it was supposed to be a small lander parked on top of the launch tower, however, the game wanted to clean it off. I build a truck with a tower taller than the launch tower and parked it behind the launch pad to get these shots.

I had an Kerman once.

It helps if you also get the robotics mod so you can use the hinges to adjust the angle after you drive it to the location.

I think I just realized how to control SRB thrust!

Flashback Express, much better than Hypercam. I\'ll try MSI, but I don\'t know if it will help. There is only so much you can do with i3 integrated graphics. Edit: Kind of expected this, but I can\'t even get MSI Afterburner to open. -

I tried, the struts I could place didn\'t help, and it is too big to run them across. -
Anyone remember this thing? I was so proud of my first rocket that could make it to orbit.

I tried to make a ring ship. However, every time I go to the runway, this happens.
