  1. K.I.S is you're friend (Keep It Simple) like many said, dont over engineer ships (hence my first rockets where way too complicated) and they just never got me far. My simplest designs gets me the furtherst, fly and behave well.. Dont go for super big ones right away, i find the 1.25mtr rockets perfect for learing/testing, and use 2.5 only when i really need some serious lifting power.. Also staging rockets can be hard at first, lateron when you start too learn what parts do what, too what effect, you can start using more complex staging, and more advance stuff.. KSP is in that manner really a spaceprogram, you start small learn the basics, and go from there.. Dont try too make super large multible section spacestations right away, or set Jool as you're first goal.. You just get dissapointed.. Learn too get in Orbit, then learn too get a stable orbit, then try too make a higher orbit and go so on.. In time you slowly master the game, get into more complex designs, Multi staging rockings, spaceplanes and so on.. Read the forums (most people are more then helpfull, ignore the occasional High Horsed ones) we all started small, most of us had like most new players absolute no idear how too play the game.. Hence i was one of those as well, still learning on a daily bases now stuff, and playing it over a year now, and still havent accomplished yet everything ..
  2. Try iRacing, it had full 45/60 mins races online in a pretty realistic sim. alot of people just cant race fully focussed this long and start too crash the cars after 20/25 mins due fatigue since those races are fairly brutal due realistic handling of the cars. Only top drivers could keep high time pase up for that amount of time.. On populair demand even the 45/60 min races of the Radical C Challenge now have been lowered again too just 25/35mins what was for me a serious turnoff and turned those racing more into quick sprints.
  3. i expec something like what happends with the X3 series and Mods.. You can mod the hell out of that series as wel, but as soon you add mods too the game, you game is flagged modified, and you cant obtain any archievements anymore. Still the whole game is functional, but you ÿou're out of any compettative stat tracking. and Scoreboards.
  4. A friend of mine showed me vids games he wanted too try out, one of them he where Harverster was showcasing one of the early releases of KSP, and i later at home googles it up, and came across the website of KSP.. I coudnt resist and bought the game (0.13) for a few euro's.. and never regretted it.. In time the game only has become better and better..
  5. yes, it was the first thing that popped up in my mind when i saw the movie.. They are different, and still a bit simulair, and have the same way of approaching science Prolly distant related
  6. Allready have 2 friends that picked up today the KSP Demo, and where supprised by the game, as they allways thought by the looks on Steam it would an simplistic shallow game.. man they where in for a supprise, was half evening on Teamspeak explaining stuff too them how too stage rockets, how too get into LKO, and such.. Within a few hours they got utterly addicted and enthousiast bout KSP
  7. This.. This is how it allways been.. dont think they change the way they work.. I eagerly await 0.21 like anyone else, but i expect an announcement soon that it is out of QA and enters Experimental Testing in a week or so, since they started now too communicate these kind of things alot more. So i doubt i be playing 0.21 any time sooner as end of july or early august, till then i just have fun with the current version.
  8. F5/F9 can be you're best friend when you trying stuff out, on wich you arent certain that will end right (QuickSave/Quickload) and can prevent alot of RageQuit Frustrations
  9. Edit you'r topic starting post , and you would be able too mark it as answered.
  10. I've landed on most Planets and Moons, but shamefully admit that returning from them in some cases like Moho didnt allways go as planned So the perfect flight to every body, i havent accomplished yet, nor permanent bases on Jool is still on the drawing board. (and with the announched savegame breaking, its on hold too) So currently just toying again with KSP till 0.21
  11. Think everyone is pretty excited for the new update.. I admit i noticed it at myself well, checking first thing daily too see if its released allready
  12. Also real spaceflight have far more dangers visible and invisble, direct and indirect that has too be calculated in to flights, that arent simulated into KSP.. Plus the actual loss of real lifes if things goes wrong, and public perception when things go horrible go wrong.
  13. Old timer here as well, and TBH even though i landed a few times on the isle runway, i never took notice of it.. since i dont play alot with space planes, only landed there too see IF i could land there.. I must shamefully admit, that i explored nearly all anomalies on all planets, but Kerbin itself is largely Unexplored by me -snip- So thanks OP for pointing it out, have too seek that one up today and see it for myself as an old timer..
  14. Took me about 9 months before i know how too dock, and i allmost gave up on it ever too master it.. The docking manouvre itself once i was close too both ship wasnt the problem, but getting the rendevous done seemed to me at first nearly impossible.. Granted i knew nothing of real "simulated" spaceflight, nor of Homann transfers, orbital flights etc, so i had too learn it all from scratch.. Only spaceflight expierence i had in games was of how most populair spacegames handle spaceflight, so it took a while. Nowerdays i hardly even can be arsed too use mods like MJ and ORDA and do most stuff by hand.. I still have MJ installed, but notice i hardly use it anymore only time i use it, is too plan my Landing Node still, but even that i now slowly plan by hand as well, now i roughly know where too set start the langding manouvre.
  15. There are also still people arount that claim the world is only 6000 years old, and that its flat, and even some still claim earth is the centre of the universe.. So i place people as Bart Sibrel in the same cathogory
  16. look great, but my poor old PC is undoubly going too blow up if i use this mod Still the screenshots looks awesome..
  17. never understood the need of discussing something, that wont gonna happen..
  18. Funny, was working on the same thing, and Smaller sepratons as well (annoyed that they seemed to be too large and powerfull for some of my designs).. A well, thanks for the Drogue's can make good use of them
  19. With the overlay open in Mapmode, when i have hovered my mouse over the grid and get the Node Popup info in my screen, then when i return too my ship view, the Popup stays in my screen, replacing the mouse cursor.. to get back too a normal cursor i have too switch back too the mapmode, hold my mouse away from the HexGrid overlay, and then return again too the Shipview.. Its a minor glitch, dunno others have it too, dunno if other have the same issue, havent read all the pages .. For the rest great work Majir, really like the new Overlay..
  20. tsk tsk tsk, getting on a high horse here.. because i dont make a mod for KSP i'm not allowed too have an opinion about a mod.. How old are you ?.. You really need too learn to deal with critism my friend.. I made (still making) mods for other games, and i sometimes get (alot harsed worded as i gave) bad critism off them, and deal with it. And wont wave it away because they dont making a mod they dont have any rights to critize. That comment just made yourself look like someone who cant accept and deal people dont like what you make. Not everyone likes what some someone else makes, and its their right too express that in a civil manner. Stating somethings looks horrible in their opinion is in my book a normal civil comment.. So sorry mate, deal with it, and learn too accept it.. Or next time make a closed topic, so noone can reply too it, so you stay secured of Critism.. Or do you only want praises..
  21. I do like cola, and i like estectics, this doesnt fit the estectics i'm going for in my KSP.. And it looks imho horrible.. But as i said, its up too those who use it ofc its their game, and people are imho free too do whatever they like with it ofc.. But critism is also part of mod making..
  22. Horrible mod, a well, as long others like it, i'm ok with it its their game. but not for me
  23. Nice fitting music.. More music that fits kerbal.. Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygen. Vangelis Sky
