  1. It surely is, but it turns like a brick. A really really heavy brick (what it basicly is...). It also was never intended to have such heavy armor I just build it that way, cause it looked awesome
  2. Yes, but I fired the same weapons from 500m distance before...same result...
  3. I had some test runs on Asteria yesterday. It seems as if the armor is quite strong. The recorded testrun was the second I did on this ship and it still withstood every hit. The first run was done from around 500m distance and I had assured that all missiles would hit. The second was the done closer to the target, so the hit could be seen. I will do some final cleanup on the craft and then release the .craft file.
  4. After some time I finally finished two ships. The first one is named Asteria and is classified as a Battleship. It has around 350 Parts unarmed and 423 Parts armed. Some more pics: http://imgur.com/a/nqIlr/embed And a Video showing the launch: The Second is an Carrier for one Guided long Range anti Capital Ship missile. Around 250 Parts. Also more pics: http://imgur.com/a/wgwZ4/embed Currently I am still in for some testing. I am also working on an Orbital weapon resupply station and a mass driver cannon(cause mass driver cannons are always fun).
  5. You can get a lot of things into space even with FAR. You just need a large enough launcher. Like I got this into Orbit: Using this launcher: Obviously it was a pain to do so and I would never recommend anyone to attempt anything close to this. It took me 10 launches until it finally got into an orbit... and what an orbit this is, I don´t want to mention here...
  6. Well, How i deal with the lagg is easy. Mechjeb ascend autopilot and do something else. Also my 400t launcher had around 1k parts resulting in an 30 min ascend.
  7. I currently use struts I created. They have a strength of 999999999... with these it works, but yea, I want to beat the challenge to do it in stock, so....
  8. One quick question about the memory usage of FAR. Does FAR increase the RAM usage significantly? Especially for large Rockets? Because since I have FAR installed my game crashes every second flight due to lack of memory (damn, I can´t wait for a 64 bit version of KSP) I have a lot (around 30) of mods in use, and noticed this issues only after I installed FAR.
  9. If you have an 400t payload nearly every connections will break. I am still working on my 400t launcher to convert it into an 550t one. Will probably not be stock though. The stock struts are just not strong enough.
  10. Currently my largest Tanker in Orbit holds 276480 units of fuel. It is build out of four tankers holding 69120 units of fuel each. Obviously I launched them using the fuel these contained. Refueling was done relatively (not accounting the damn lag of over 1.5k parts) fast. I only had to launch 8 times to fill it completely.
  11. First I went to duna, and currently I am working on a 1 Man eve lander (obviously designed to return as well)
  12. I had the first testrun with my heavy Cargo Plane. I think there might still be some "minor" issues i need to fix.
  13. I even used it on a Spaceplane once. Mostly because it had exactly the right weight for my VTOL to be balanced, but it also packs quite punch while still being lighter then clustered engines (and more reliable). I use it on mid sized launchers most of the time.
  14. Actually the Decouplers don't need that many struts. about 8 should be enough, but you have to strut the payload somewhere else. Try strutting it to the outer stages and to the fuel tank below the decoupler. Maybe analysing this might help you (if you Computer can handle it that is) I designed it so you can strut the Payload to the nosecones to distribute the weight more.
  15. Nope definitely not me, I joined after the Kraken devoured the Forum Also it seems Uranus is capable of lifting up to 500 Tons, but I have to add more struts to prevent random failure. My test lifter (with custom struts with ridiculous strength) could get 500t into orbit. Maybe I will upload Uranus 2 in a few days.
  16. Oh, I got 400t in payload to work. See here. But it seems as if the amount of struts needed is rising exponentially with each ton I add to my vehicle Sadly my rig is close to giving up now, even though it is quite strong (CPU overclocked to 4.3 GHz..)
  17. Currently testing 530 Tons to LKO. The structure seems to hold fine. Lets see if it gets into Orbit.
  18. Ok, no more failed launches if the Craft is clipped into the VAB ground.* Works only to 99%, misuse of our product will void warranty.
  19. Yea, You will get problems if this craft is clipped into the ground. It is simply too heavy to be hold in place by the launch clamps and will then proceed to crash into the ground, when it starts to bounce. Maybe one could add some kind of separator to the bottom that is decoupled after the launch to prevent this issue
  20. Ok, Did some test launches with insanely heavy payloads (like 600 tons) and the version with Improved StrutsTM did not have a single structural failure (just ran out of fuel) But it now has a higher Part Count. Added this Version to the download, since it has a higher Part Count.
  21. I did not know that, but in the first launches I had the decouplers placed higher and it was less stable. I have lower load times for physics, but in the VAB it takes some time to load up. Currently running on a custom build PC with a AMD quad core Overclocked to 4,3 GHz.
  22. Funny, at least for you the Uploaded version works...If i try to launch it my KSP crashes every time Mhm, can you identify in which Stage this is happening and where the phantom struts are? I'll try to see if there could be struts missing.
  23. Not really... I'll have a look at my craft. Maybe I uploaded a old version...
  24. I have no idea why it would turn that way, other than Parts falling apart. in the around 30 hours of test launches, that I have done with different payloads, it never turned to one direction, it either worked fine and had not enough DV or it failed horribly.
  25. Not quite what I had in mind, but I feared someone might notice it at some point.
