Currently the altimeter displays the altitude from sea level, this is great for splash-downs on Kerbin, Eve and Laythe, but it is not very helpful if you are landing on the Mun, Minmus, Duna ect... So what I am asking for is an option to change the altimeters reference point between sea level and ground level Edit: Im talking about the altimeter thats part of the UI

Has anyone here played SCP Containment Breach?
kerbonaut101 replied to kerbonaut101's topic in The Lounge
I guess this game isn't as well known as I thought it was... heres a video for you *obviously as its a lets play, it contains some SPOILERS*... (the game is now in version 0.9.3, this lets play starts when the game is in version 0.3) -
This should have been its own series.... This is making me want to watch my Fireball XL5 dvds (I was born in the late 90's and loved Thunderbirds, Stingray, Capt. Scarlet ect... Then only months ago I discovered XL5 and I was like... "How did I miss this...!?")

Has anyone here played the horror game SCP Containment Breach? What do you think about it? (I personally think it should be released on steam early access so it gets a lot more coverage) http://www.scpcbgame.com/ http://www.scpcbgame.com/info.html

If other solar systems are eventually added into KSP I would hope that the realism would be retained and Squad wont take KSP into the realm of Sci-Fi-impossible-in-real-life technology. So I started this thread to try and brainstorm some ideas on how they could manage interstellar travel (obviously the first thing they'd need is 1 billion, 1 trillion, 1 quadrillion time acceleration ect...) I would rather see some of these concepts implemented... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstellar_travel#Propulsion The Acculbierre drive might also be a good candidate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive As long as it's based on real science then im happy with it

I reckon the thing that I built that was most proud of was a jet airplane that had an average speed of 1000ms/ (its top speed was around 1430m/s) it got to the north pole in about 20min but it crashed during landing so ill probably add some parachutes or use sepratrons to slow it down during landing

That must have been one giant rocket.... Did it actually work?

I thought it would be a brilliant idea to create a Voyager style Jool mission. i visited and orbited every moon with a probe, except Bop (the inclination was to high, didn't want to waste the fuel). After a few orbits around Laythe I set the probe "Voyager 1" on an interstellar trajectory only to discover that two hours had passed (this also included an Apollo style Mun mission I did)... Im sorry Civilization IV you've lost the "Most Addicting Game" award KSP is a game you can play all night long (has anyone here done this...?) and it only seems like 30 minutes have past.

I'm sorry, I... I just don't like ARM... :(
kerbonaut101 replied to Naten's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I guess I just needed to vent my confusion/frustration about the whole thing. I just dont get all the complaining (In my books, more powerfull rockets is NEVER a bad thing ) -

I've seen quite a few posts claiming that the new engines for the ARM pack are over powered (which I think is a matter of perspective)... personally I think that having more powerful rockets in the game is a good thing showing the natural progression of rocket technology. If KSP ever goes interstellar or adds more planets beyond Eeloo you will need more and more powerful rockets for your launch stages. Also, when the mainsale was introduced in 0.16 that pretty much made the LV-T30 obsolete for launch stages (I dont know if people were complaining that was OP?) and now the new SLS parts make the mainsale obsolete. Perhaps to combat the OPedness of the engines the devs could increase slightly decrease there thrust and increase there inefficiency? If you dont like the new parts... *drum roll*... dont use them -
What are the best life support mods that you know of?
