  1. You mean theres an easier way...? ive had mild success with just strapping nuclear engines to red tanks (this isn't for the challenge). How do you figure out how much you need for an interplanetary mission (manned return missions to the Mun and Minmus I can easily do)?
  2. Yeah, I guess this mission is a bit more complex than it needs to be All I can say to those screenshots is... WOW! you've definitely passed the challenge :) :)
  3. Im trying I havent done interplanetary flights (Ive NEVER done a manned one) for a while so at the moment, im just testing some designs by sending them into Kerbin Orbit. Once ive got them into orbit I'll then test them some more by sending them to the Mun (then I know for certain everything definitely works the trick is figuring out how many fuel tanks you'll need to take with you...) I've also updated the rules to say no nuclear engines.
  4. original post updated with a few rules, couldn't really think of many. Just try and stay as close to the video as possible
  5. Based on this video (which i did not make), recreate the mission from the Stephen Baxter novel "Voyage". Please include screenshots of the launch, propulsion stack rendezvous, the trans-duna injection burn, Eve slingshot, Duna orbit insertion, landing of the DEM (Duna Exploration Module), DEM rendezvous with the CSM/Propulsion Stack, CSM Kerban reentry. Show screenshots of your rockets in the VAB. RULES - Try and keep as close to the video as you can - NO Nuclear engines (chemical rockets are used in the video) - The Eve slingshot is optional (Slingshots are difficult to set up, but they DO save fuel so do it if you can ) - The propulsion stack rendezvous IS required - You must not use parachutes for your Duna landing (it must be a powered soft landing) - You need to list the mods you use
  6. What im asking for is the ability to just hold a flag while on an EVA or on the ground. As seen in this video... http://youtu.be/gMxQEHfU6hM?t=2m
  7. Would it be possible to add individual England, Scotland, Northern Ireland flags as well? [edit] and the UK Space Agency, NASA, ESA and ROSCOSMOS, JAXA and CNSA flags?
  8. I have heard about ARM nasa mission pack for a while now but I dont think if ever seen a release date for it. Will the ARM be released at the same time as 0.24 (if so, has there been a release data announced yet)?
  9. I am looking to build a plane that can go mach 10 (3,415m/s) for at least 30 seconds. Is this possible with stock parts? I'd appreciate any tips
  10. Thanks I added my suggestion to this thread which was listed next to EVA activities (the latest post was only 6 days ago) http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/42334-Kerbal-deployed-sensors-beacons-lights
  11. (I didnt want to start a new thread about EVA activities and risk it being locked, so i thought I'd add my ideas here) Here is my idea for EVA deployable experiments. Basically, you would right click on your Kerbal and click deploy and you would be able to see the Kerbal setting up the equipment. Here are a some experiments I came up with... Laser Reflector - Lasers are fired from Kerbin to the reflector in order to precisely monitor the distance between the two bodies Seismic Monitor - This device detects whether there is any kind of geological activity occurring (earthquakes, volcano's, ice gasyer's ect...) Geological analyzer - Analyzes rock samples taken by Kerbals and detects the elements it contains. Solar Wind analyzer - Analyzes the amount of solar particles impacting the surface of the celestial body Radiation Detector - Detects the amount of lethal radiation impacting the surface of the celestial body Obviously for career mode these would have to organised into the tech tree and each would have to produce an appropriate amount of science.
  12. I was about to suggest a feature for deployable EVA experiments but then realized it was on the 'already suggested list'. So... what happens once something is on that list? Does it get read by developers?
  13. Well, I was on KSP yesterday and I didn't get it... is it from a patch that was released after 0.22?
  14. Im wondering, does anyone else who has KSP on steam suddenly have a KSP launcher when you click "Play Now"? Where has this come from?
  15. I cant ... it says... Posting Permissions You may post new threads You may post replies You may not post attachments You may edit your posts No idea why it says that
  16. I need help becuase my rocket keeps exploding in mid flight (Its not lack of struts...) I'll try and upload the .craft file (in posting permissions it says I cant add attachments????)
  17. I want to send an atmospheric probe to Jool, so what altitude do I need to send my Jool periapsis to, to ensure that I get slowed down to sub-orbital speeds?
  18. Here are things I would like to see... -comets and asteroids -enhanced IVA -procedural fairings -enhanced and more in-depth tutorials for new players -A second (Saturn style) gas giant with a few moons -A mission planner -No more rocket wobble (NASA doesn't have to deal with this problem) -More secure docking (In real life docking ports on stations and spacecraft don't flex 20 degrees as there securely fixed) -A launch escape system for the 1 man capsule and the 3 man capsule TBH ... theirs probably no chance of seeing all of these in one update so for me, asteroids, comets and the second gas giant are at the top of my wish-list
  19. A full optimization update probably wont happen until very late in development, once they've added most of the features they want for KSP 1.0.
  20. At what altitude do the drogue and normal parachutes fully deploy on Jool's moon Laythe?
