  1. You have mechjeb installed? There are known issues with Kethane and Mechjeb in .21.1 see the threads for those addons.
  2. Little late to the party there fella.
  3. You're having the exact same problem I had with the HOME addon when I used it. The plant not working and the part vanishing from the VAB. It was caused by one of the files not being placed correctly. If I remember it was the cleverbobcat.cfg which needed to be in the resources folder of KSP. (This was an earlier version of KSP)
  4. In such a design I'd be more worried on the pump work loads due to crew moving around rapidly than them all being gathered in one place. Imagine trying to keep the whole system weight balanced with a couple of joggers running around at different rates.
  5. You have the mod installed incorrectly.
  6. Ah, it's part of that Kethane issue. That explains why I don't have that folder, I don't use Kethane (yet).
  7. This is what I was referring to when I said that selecting the docking port as target has nothing to do with docking. sorry for the confusion. So, yes, selecting the port gives you lots of information, but it does not actually do any physical process that allows docking.
  8. scaledspacedumper??? That's not related to Mechjeb. Sarbian created a new mechjeb2.dll that goes in gamedata/mechjeb2/plugins. Do a search of Sarbian's posts and you should find the link.
  9. This does absolutely nothing during manual dockings. It only helps if you're using a plugin like mechjeb.
  10. Another reason to keep it at least above 150km: Less lag from rendering the planet above that height.
  11. Bleeding edge technology under heavy development. Hoping for the best, but not a good recipe for success.
  12. Get rid of the big center tank and replace the aerospikes with LV-N's. More than enough to do powered landings from 100km orbit and then takeoff again to a 150km orbit: http://s479.photobucket.com/user/seattle221/media/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot17.png.html?sort=3&o=16 No parachutes needed.
  13. Actually, using Mechjeb and Engineer for the d/v and twr numbers will make you a lot better at building rockets faster than trial and error will. That's where using your brain is really at.
  14. Interesting idea, but due to the way KSP works, it will only work for the active ship.
  15. Hey guys, glad you liked the lander. Good thing I kept my old versions of the game. I went back to .18.2 where I used this lander alot and reran a full sequence from Duna orbit to ground and back with stats. Here are the screen caps, notice the starting mass, mass after dropping the ANT rover, and d/v remaining at various stages. last shot is it back in a 150km orbit. http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot12.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot13.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot11.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot10.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot15.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot14.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot18.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot16.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot19.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot22.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot17.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot20.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot23.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot21.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot27.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot28.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot25.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot29.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot26.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot24.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot30.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot31.png~original These next 4 images are the lander mostly recreated (still needs some little things) in .21.1. Haven't taken it to Duna yet, but it should work just as well as in .18.2. As you can see it's a simple build, and while some parts clip, I did not have to use the devtool menu to enable clipping. http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot10-1.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot8.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot7.png~original http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Kerbal/nukelander/screenshot9.png~original (Yes, Photobucket sucks. If you click through the zoom function in the bottom right corner of the images enough times you'll get to the hi-res versions where you can read the text.)
  16. Wait, what rings are you talking about?? Discovery in the movie only had one centrifuge for artificial gravity, as seen. Which is exactly as it was portrayed. If you watch 2001 closely, the podbay is in zero G and there is velcro on the floor to provide traction.(sadly, the Velcro was omitted when the set was recreated for the movie 2010)
  17. You guys are using the wrong engines. nukes get 500isp even at ground level on Duna. This is my lander from .19. Still works in .21.1. It can do fully powered landings on Duna and get back to at least 100km orbit. No chutes needed.
  18. Don't forget to test Kerbal ingress/egress. That ladder looks to short.
  19. No, now instead of going from 3 to 4 have the 3's and 4's go to the two inner booster tanks which then lead into your central tank. Then you can run all engines on launch for max d/v and still have full tanks when you get down to just the return craft.
  20. I have never had a problem putting fuel lines towards the top of stacks on my asparagus launcher.
