  1. Not sure what caused your problem, but why didn't you just use the "launch to rendezvous" option on the ascent autopilot? would have been a lot quicker and you could have gone straight to docking autopilot when it finished. No rendezvous autopilot needed. Is it possible you are using some other mod that is conflicting with mechjeb? Anything new on these 2 ships you haven't used before or haven't used together?
  2. Now that I have seen this part in game, I can say it's not the same thing as what the OP is trying. You've made a flat piece that mounts pretty normally and has the ring attached to it. The OP is trying to make a ring that surface attaches all the way around an existing part like a fuel tank.
  3. In version 2 why did you not make medium tanks using 2.5m connections? (In fact, medium tanks seem to have gotten only one size of connector). Seems like an odd omission considering the small and large tanks received several connection sizes.
  4. Huh, I have a 400+ part fuel station using lots of the docking struts from that pack. No issues yet.
  5. ^But multiple docking ports are often the method used to strengthen a ship against wobble. Further evidence against shenanigans caused by loops.
  6. Yep, reduce the fuel by a third and strip off the solids. You should be able to do a powered landing and return to orbit on what's left. (well, almost)
  7. ^Not sure it's a physics handling issue. Other wise the docking port method of creating loops mentioned earlier would come with caveats from the people using it about "crazy shenanigans" occurring.
  8. Can't really help with the questions, but I have to wonder, can a part in KSP totally encircle another part like you intend like a hoop on a barrel?
  9. Yep, that works. too bad the OP couldn't be more informative like linking to the live stream he mentioned or the website he was referring to, or anything really than just reposting a twitter.
  10. It's alive!!!!! Hey JDP, good to see this mod return. You might want to take a look at this mod pack on spaceport It looks like the author kept your mod alive and may have made some improvements. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/attachment-pack/ hmmmm, the forum doesn't seem to be allowing hotlinking right now. In fact, none of the advanced text features seem to be active.
  11. Yeah, don't include a link or any information about what this is. That would be too helpful.
  12. It's not the parts that are the issue. It's the way the game engine handles ship construction. Squad would have to re-write ship construction to allow for multiple connections that form loops. Not sure how difficult that would be.
  13. 21.2??? Sweet! did you get a developer copy some how?
  14. Yeah, this "strength" thing is still bad science. You're just making a mess of TWR and ISP. You're also confusing bad rocket design (wide tanks vs narrow tanks) with engine performance.
  15. Nope, there is no difference. to see the problem better, try just using engines between adapters. Adding the decouplers is creating farings on all the engines, but not actually creating solid connections. if you take the decouples out of the equation and attach the decoupler directly you'll see that only one engine gets fairinged, indicating a solid connection. Even with this single connection you can make a rocket work, just use lots of struts.
  16. So, what the heck is "strength"? your test seems arbitrary for this. "I loaded the engine with as much fuel as it could carry without crashing or going out of control". Define "crashing or going out of control" in regards to how much fuel you loaded. Bad science is bad.
  17. Not sure what OS they use, but guessing their favorite programming language is KERBOL.
  18. Don't hold your breath on that. There is no "team", just Sarbian, and he's only going to be active for about 2 more weeks. Checkout his thread for work on ongoing issues with mechjeb. ETA: Hey guys. For the people having big rockets tumble after MECO and before leaving atmosphere, do you have the option on the ascent guidance for "corrective steering" turned on? If not, could you give that a try and see if it makes a difference?
  19. You can't link pictures from your computer. You need to use a service like imgur or photobucket.
  20. What wobble? Struts stop wobble just fine for me. It's all about placement.
  21. I'm sorry, but what does this post mean??? Could you elaborate as to what you are talking about? Maybe use a complete sentence or two?
